Beginners:
Beginner’s lessons are for simmers who are just starting out, there is a various age range as some swimmers don’t begin as early as others. The lessons are adaptable but the outcomes for beginners are all the same although each swimmer is given much attention to achieve. The fundamentals will include basics such as being able to blow bubbles, put their face in the water, getting their legs up to the top of the water and being able to kick, being able to float on their own, jumping in from the side, swimming through hoops, and eventually being able to swim across the pool without any aids, front and back with good technique. At this stage once all of our fundamentals are completed the swimmers confidence should allow them to cross the rope and enter the intermediate group.
Intermediate:
Intermediate lessons take a swimmer from the fundamentals and being to develop more complex skills more defined stroke whilst keeping up the and level of energy, fun and social interaction. Intermediate level swimmers will be working on developing their strokes to have the most efficient techniques for them to be able to swim further distances, swim faster, and be safer. Intermediate swimmers will be training on their front stroke, back stroke, breast stroke and other stroke techniques such as butterfly leg kicks. They will begin practising early stage diving, they will also be taught other techniques such as submerging into the water to retrieve objects, tumble turns and starting their stroke with push and glides.
Coaches will work with the swimmers to help them in all their areas for improvement. Intermediate will see a big transition for all the swimmers as they head towards the advance class.
Advanced:
Advanced swimmers will have achieved in the intermediate class, swimming long distances, having good techniques on all their strokes, being able to swim without any support, have a medium level of diving ability, be able to swim fully underwater and have a good level of ability on other skills.
With all they have already achieved, now in the advanced class, the swimmers will be tightening up on any area’s for improvement, knocking seconds off their strokes, being able to tread water, being taught full diving techniques to safely enter the water in a competitive fashion, learning new skills such as survival techniques when entering the water, and be progressing towards trying to achieve grades which include being able to swim and perform at a high level wearing clothes as survival techniques, learning how they could rescue somebody else if needs be, and so much more! Coaches will still be maintaining a fun factor in each lesson whilst they still progress on all their personal targets.
Personal lessons:
Angie’s swim school also offers personal one on one lesson or two to one lessons where swimmers can progress with their own teacher giving them the full attention to help them progress on all their personal area’s for improvement. Coaches can tailor lessons designed specifically on how the swimmer learns and where they are trying to progress to. The coaches will work closely with them to ensure their development is fun, confident gaining, fulfilling, progressive and most of all safe.
