Vitamin E Oil - Tips & Risks - Our thoughts Vitamin E is our oil of the week, as its just arrived - here are our thoughts, warts and all.
What the experts say : There is limited research on vitamin E oil, however experts from around the world insist is has many properties that will improve skin, hair and nails. That being said, lets have a look at the risks first.
... Risks: People with a history of allergic reactions should avoid this oil or do a skin patch test first. There have also been reports that it exacerbates breakouts of acne, so people who tend to break out should proceed with caution. Skin Benefits: Add at 5% to your creams and lotions. Scars & Marks : It is said that it appears to diminish scars and marks, apply at night as its thick and greasy. Anti-Ageing: Can be added to creams and lotions as an antioxidant and is claimed to have anti-ageing benefits. The theory is it blocks free radicals from the body, hence reducing wrinkles and keeping the skin young looking. An oil cleanse at night, should do the trick, apply a small amount over the skin, gently massage in and the wipe off with a warm, wet flannel. Dry & Flaking Skin: It is also said to help with dry and flaking skin, and some have claimed it helps with psoriasis symptoms however there is limited research to substantiate this. Acne: The great and the good say it works, however research says it can cause more intense breakouts - be careful!
Risk - Sunblock & Pollution Block There is also a theory that it an effective sun block, however this claim should be treated with extreme caution. Pollution block - to be fair any oil should provide this with limited effectiveness. A pinch of salt should be taken with this claim.
Nails - Massage into nails and cuticles, you could try adding your favourite pure perfume oil at 1% (make sure its pure and not filled with dpg). It is said to help reduce "Yellow nail Syndrome", we have always added lemon essential oil to achieve this. (5 drops of pure lemon to 10ml of vit E should do the trick)
Hair - Vitamin E is said to moisturise dry and brittle hair - so you can massage it to your hair, concentrating on the ends and then towel wrap for 30mins. Wash off as usual. Another tip is to add your favourite pure perfume to it (again make sure its pure and not filled with dpg) at 1% and use it as a smoothing & finishing oil on the dry bits. Don't overuse and try not to comb through otherwise it will transfer to to you roots and make your part look greasy.

Candied Apple Violet - Sneeky preview of March's new fragrance due for official release tomorrow - A cotton candy sweetness entrance reveals fresh notes of crushed apples and Jade melon, finished with Violet leaf and flower heads. Viv and Rhi think it's amazing - they are sweetie lovers though, I'm more the moaning old musk type 🤣.

Look what Viv made for me...three wooden wicker, full natural wax and my favourite perfume, Opus! Has all my favourites like oudh and patchouli in it. Can't wait to take it home (for testing purposes honest), just letting it cure :)

Do you refresh and recycle your wax melts or just throw them away? No Nonsense Northerners say refresh! 🙃
