Take time to contemplate on Sat 18th May

What our guests say : A peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Rustic and basic. The sounds of the woodpeckers in the mornings and owls at night are enchanting. The wood burner is really relaxing. Just wish we could stayed for ever and not go back to reality.

Our last guests of the season left a comment ‘just to say that we had a fantastic and fun time. Don't stop doing what you are doing’
Next season we will be letting the site out for some party weekends, bring friends with tents and spend a weekend together.

Just had to share this review with you So calm and peaceful for a stay in Aug 2018 I, booked a 4 day break for my partner and I along with our dog Sammy and what can I say? On arrival Kate greeted us and showed us facilities we could use as well as the pod, we could use kitchen with microwave toaster fridge etc, there is a shower and toilet in the same building which is attached to the main house, we loaned Kate’s cool box and ice packs and were also asked if we had bed linen ...and towels. When we drove up to the pod we both felt a sense of peace and calm. The woods were our dogs Christmas's come all at once! The bed is big and comfy, there is a small gas hob 2 chairs and a table. The lovely thing was the log burner which we did try and it's ace! We had a couple of outside fires when it got dark and it was so lovely just hearing nature instead of tv and loud music. We foraged around the woods and I made a couple of wind catchers (something you can't do on a housing estate). We found dead wood for our outside fire and had a competition who found the most! The compost loo was an eye opener it certainly taught us about looking after the environment. We are local people so stayed on site most of time but there are many many things to do in the area without too much travelling and a supermarket 5 mins drive away. All in all we had such a lovely back to nature break we will be regulars when in need of battery recharge! Thank you Kate for such an adventure you deliver something that should be on the national health !!! WELL DONE !

Big comfy bed in the pod with a new Celtic patterned cover ready for our next guests. One of our guests liked the mattress so much she went home and bought one - it's so comfy.

Great campfire

You can either come as a couple for a quiet weekend, or bring the kids/grand kids and the tent and hammock.

“Kate was very communicative and kindly organised a pickup from the station as we came off the train at 9.30pm. We also got a lift back when leaving. If you are looking for a secluded and intimate trip away from the world this can't be any better. Although only 100 meters from the house if you need anything, you feel like the space is yours and we weren't bothered once. We didn't need the wood fire as it's summer but I imagine the pod would be great in winter when made cosy and warm. Dinner at The Lock pub was great watching the canal boats come in and out. Great area to just go out and explore the surrounding countryside. If you are as lucky (or misguided) as we both are you may accidentally find yourself walking around the Bodenham Arboretum!”
