Well got to say well done cwac! I hated driving to northwich (1 way system) then finding somewhere to park ( without getting a ticket) but wow 😳 I park no probs in the new multi must say can't wait for the units to open going towards the odeon from Asda come on H&M .. river island ... but yes started coming to northwich again now love the new cinema 😘

User

Really great, love that we are getting Northwich back again....hope the shops by Max Spielman will be returned to there former splendour, a lot of empty shops down there just being left vacant.....used to love the Adams, Argos, Woolworths, Greenwoods, Bay Tree cafe etc, Bon Marche etc ...needs an injection of cash there also and some good shops. Asda is great and the new car park is fantastic and perfect for shoppers. Well done Barons Quay.

User

Loving the Northwich is coming back to life! Love the parking and the escalators which take trolleys. Used the cinema for the first time on Sunday. Very nice! Staff a tad slow on the food counters but sure they will speed up. Also booking ticket at the machine- couldn't see where the screen was to make a choice of seat. That needs improving but all this is minor. Northwich is looking fab. Everyone asking what everything is going to be. Any chance of some plans to show that?

User

I've been there to go to Asda and had a chance to look around. I think the complex has got a great potential for a great business. The location is perfect. Nice river and green scenery. In the heart of town. Easy to reach. Easy to drive. The car park is spacious. Even though half of the construction is completed, 99 percent of the shops are not occupied yet. How unfortunate, such a waste of time for a potential business. Northwich is not an average town. It just needs some buzz with some live business. Popular brands like H&M, River Island, Topshop, Zara, The Body Shop, Lush and many more; even department stores such as Debenhams, House of Fraser can make a very very good business.

User

Fab place well staffed they show u too your seats just one criticism just a little bit too loud the sound was

User

A very nice development, not quite finished but well on its way. Interesting architecture, space and a good range of shops with excellent free parking mostly under cover. EV charging (3.6kw) is available but its likely to be ice'd due to poor marking and signs.

User

Went to the Odeon Cinema last night and found it very comfortable - will definitely go again. The complex looks great and when the units are occupied it will be a great place to visit.

User

The development is still incredibly new as I write this with only a few units currently occupied but the seeds are already in place for a truly stunning and exciting new town centre. I already loved Northwich so I'm probably a tad biased but Barons Quay has given us the potential to be a town which people want to visit...and perhaps even choose to live.

Had to take a star off because of the jobsworth employed by BQ who wanders around telling young people not to do anything. My kids who are extremely well behaved feel uncomfortable visiting the Riverside park or sitting on the steps outside Asda.

User

Really nice cinema complex. The iSense screen is impressive although not quite on the same scale as IMAX. Four good sized screens in addition to that. Four hours free parking in the multi storey attached to Asda and about 5 mins walk to the cinema from there. For me, it's as easy to get to Barons Quay as it is to go to the Odeon in Warrington. A pity most of the surrounding units are empty because it feels a bit desolate at the moment. Hopefully that will change over time.

User

Only been once, but it looks like its going to be a great place! Not much there at the moment but it has great potential! Great, easy parking, and the cinema is really nice. I grew up around Northwich, and there was never much going on when I was there... I am excited to see how it develops!

User

Great new little cinema. Free parking, just needs all the shop spaces to be filled with nice restaurants and coffee shops and it will be fantastic

User

So we visited the cinema on Boxing Day, expecting lots of queues...nothing. the multi storey car park was empty on the top level. There must have been 20 people in the cinema - great for punters but the complex was dead and lifeless. Even M&S and the Wildwood restaurant hadn't bothered opening up. Surely this has to be worrying for retailers and the council?

User

Nice complex, Would be useful if there was a lot more signage as to where things are. From floor one of the car park, I had no idea which direction and floor the cinema was, and the entrance to the Odeon is also to the back left side, there are no signs on the windows or anything to say that. I like that it's free parking, as I would be much more enclined to visit more regularly. Look forward to seeing what else is going to be there.

User

Nice cinematic friendly staff free parking just needs the shops or restaurants or coffee bars opening the council should do cheaper rates as they are far too expensive twin courage more people to start businesses in them Better to do half price Business rates and rent and get some money a.m. and will attract more people to come

User

Much needed, long waited for...no where near complete but lots of construction going on.

Currently Barons Quay has a fantastic Odeon Cinema which features films for everyone...from 'Newbies' (adults must be accompanied by a baby!) to 'Oldies' (Silver Screen) with tea/coffee & biscuits included for just Β£3 !!! With a Costa Coffee at ground level...all taking advantage of the lovely river views.

Their is also a restaurant called Wildwood which I haven't tried yet...seems popular and has a varied menu. Of course their is also Asda and Marks & Spencers at the opposite end.

I've rated Barons Quay at 3*** but it definitely has the potential to be 5***** We need more bars, restaurants and shops to make it a really vibrant area!

The parking is great and free...but should NOT be restricted to 4 hours... For people to shop, see a film and have a meal, parking needs to be unrestricted. Free parking has always been a bonus for locals and a draw for people from the surrounding areas. Keeping it that way will make the town of Northwich and Barons Quay a place that people will want to come to!

User

It's new the design is good people have to give it a chance to fill.

I have seen comments with comparison to Nantwich and there isn't one, Nantwich retained its centre that went a lifetime ago in Northwich, sitting in the lounge at the cinema you can look over the old Northwich and it's a mess, decades of no planning coordination.

10 years it will be the place to be

User

Like the design and architecture of Barons Quay, however it is still not linked very well to the "old" part of town, but still think potentially it could be good. However the main issue is that it is still virtually empty. There is no communication whatsoever about take up of units. I'm afraid commercial confidence reasons doesn't wash with me. Also it's a bit cheeky putting M&S in as part of of the "new" development as it pre dates barons quay by some considerable time. I hope it works, but the silence on new business is deafening.

User

It's sad to see that in nearly, over a year no new units have been taken. And it's fulfilling its name as BARRENS quay. Maybe the people should let the companies know who we want as the council can't seem to drum up any excitement to the town.

As a young professional I want to spend my money on food, booze and clothing without having to drive to Warrington, Manchester or Chester.

How can anyone give this place 5 Stars to Barons Key, apart from the Cinema its a complete waste of money they would of been better developing Witton Street You only have to look at Nantwich and how successful there Town Centre is!.Nantwich went down the traditional route and with Northwich's Black and White Buildings how good would that would have looked and would have saved money that could have been used more wisely in the community. It has now proved the Big Shops will not come to Northwich (why would they when Warrington is down the road) and is only a matter of time that the units are turned into Flats/Apartments.If this is the case surly the planners and decision makers of this Farce of a project should face the music!!!!
