Blakemere Touring Park Description

Welcome to Blakemere Touring Park
Blakemere Village is proud to announce the launch of their new touring park. Set in the heart of Cheshire and based on the already long established visitor attraction site, it hosts 52 large and medium size caravan pitches, a camping area, large amenities block, reception with shop as well as a chill-out and games room, making it the perfect get away for those looking to pitch up and relax. The site also offers electric and water hook-up, grey waste disposal and TV aerial connection and with WIFI hotspots across Blakemere Village, those needing to stay connected will be right at home.

The new park is based on a great tourist attraction that was created over 20 years ago and is still, to this day, owned and run by the Gerrard family. The Edwardian stable block is the heart of the centre and since 1878 has changed and developed, to now offer beautiful boutique style shops selling everything from freshly baked cakes and homeware to jewellery, clothes and sweets. There are daily activities at Blakemere catering for all ages, tastes and budgets. Bird of Prey aviaries, a huge play barn, archery, air rifles, low ropes and segway experiences along with paint-a-pot studio, mini race track, bushcraft in the woods and crazy golf all add to a fun experience while you stay at Blakemere. Regular events throughout the year including a fantastic christmas schedule, when Santa comes to visit, all mean that you and your family will never be stuck for something to do.

Blakemere Village and its touring park are open 7 days a week, all year round.

What a great place to stay.

We stayed on the large camping field in our camper, plenty of room for a game of rounders or football for the kids. Safe and secure area. Very clean facilities, lovely staff. Comes highly recommend by us. One small downside however, there must be kennels or pack of Fox hounds kept near by, DON'T get me wrong it did not spoil the holiday and I would visit again, but they woke me a few times.

User

We stayed in our campervan and awning, just myself and my 3 boys, fantastic site, very friendly staff, and immaculately kept, the toilets were the cleanest I've seen. Plenty of room for the boys to play and explore onsite, big field to do boy things in, nice little play area, the Den, with a few slot machines in and the camp shop, with essentials like ice cream. we went for a walk though the woods, and visited the village next door, the Birds of Prey was a great show.

We will definitely, be staying again.

User

We stayed here for 3 nights,it is a lovely, well maintained site & the wardens are very friendly & helpful. We have stayed on many, many sites over the years & Blakemere rates with the best of them!We had our grandchildren staying & the one thing I would suggest is that the play park had more on it;when there are a number of children on site the 2 swings & 1 slide are not enough!Apart from this we thought it was an excellent site & will definitely return for more breaks.

User

We stayed at Blakemere for 2 nights last weekend & the kids are already asking to go backļæ½. The site is one of the nicest i've ever been to, the facilities were amazing and spotlessley clean. The grounds were really well kept and gorgeous. Alex & Anna were amazing too, nothing was too much trouble and they both worked really long hours making sure everything was perfect for yoyr stay. We will be back agsin for sureļæ½ļæ½ļæ½

User

We really enjoyed our stay here over bank holiday weekend. Site is a nice size, not too big. Toilets and showers are spotless with music playing. Nice little play area and grass areas to play. Alex and Anna always on hand to help. Alex doesn't stop. He was always about cleaning and doing jobs. Like that the toilet block doesn't close at a set time for cleaning, it's just kept on top of all day. Nice chill out room and table tennis. blakemere village next door has lots to do for any age group. We did crazy golf, steam railway, a walk in the woods, kids tea party in the restaurant (which was more like a kids boot camp ļæ½)and sampled some real ale in the microbrewery. Will definitely visit again!

User

This was our first time at Blakemere and certainly wonā€™t be our last. The site wardens were so welcoming on arrival, made us feel welcome and showed us to our pitch. The site itself really green and lots of space between caravans so not cramped. The toilets immaculate, absolutely spotless and even the bin area was cleaner than any other site weā€™ve ever been on. So much on the site for kids to do during the day ours loved the falconry, archery and the quad bikes. Restaurant serves lovely food, drinks a bit expensive but not a problem really. During the evening the brewery is fantastic, kept the husband quiet for a few hours šŸ˜‚. Weā€™ve always visited Haven sites but Blakemere definitely a lovely change from the chaos of large commercial sites. Truly a hidden gem. Look forward to coming back soon.

User

This is a lovely site. You have the village in walking distance just up the road or the tranquility of the park. Such a great for children too. The shop has a lot of little extras that you may have forgotten at reasonably priced. Helpful, friendly staff too. Will definitely go back

User

Stayed here for a long weekend Thursday to Sunday, partly to visit family but to have a look round the local area.

The facilities are first class, shower block spotless well on a par with Caravan Club etc. It does help that children canā€™t go in unaccompanied as the lock is too high. The Den, playground and ball field with goalposts and basketball net are really good for kids. The Blakemere Village is lovely to visit with its craft shops, micro pub/brewery and restaurant together with all the activities of Cheshire Outdoors. All in all there is so much to do here without having to leave the site.

The pitches themselves are slightly on the small side and we chose one of the bigger ones, pitch 50, but was a tight fit to get caravan, awning and car on the pitch. We arrived on the Thursday when there were just a few units camping and the site felt quite spacious but by Friday evening it was virtually full. With all cars having to park in front of the unit it looked even more packed than it really was. The compensating factor is there are lots of open grass areas. If you want a quieter pitch ask to go on the rally field which still has electric hookup.

Credit must really go to the wardens who work tirelessly ensuring the facilities are spotless but kept walking the site ensuring everyone enjoyed their stay keeping it a real family friendly site. The latest I saw them was 22:30 when most wardens lock themselves away.

Overall we would recommend this site for anyone and will be returning

User

Stayed for 3 nights mid July 2018.

New wardens who had only been there 2 weeks.

Didnā€™t catch their names but so so helpful, lovely friendly couple. Always offering help and even said they would help me hitch my caravan back onto my car as my hubby had to leave to go back to work.

I did suggest better wheelchair access to be able to get up the kerb to reception as I couldnā€™t get up,which they said they would look into.

Lovely stay.

I personally prefer the Rally field as I like the open space in the centre, although the water tap was 6 caravan spaces away, Iā€™m a camper , didnā€™t bother me šŸ¤—

Converted from Lady Heyes to here from now on šŸ¤—

User

Second time out as a caravner we have only stayed here and another well known independent local site.

First point is that as a member of one of the big caravan clubs I can see no reason why I would ever book the nearby site that they run, for the reason of price, member discount not that I can see what a swizz ... Dearer by far for three nights than these guys are for four in fact you can have for a couple of quid extra six nights for exactly the same price, that is with the weekend rate !! Stay midweek and six nights here with one weekend night actually comes out cheaper than the big caravan clubs three night weekend break.

Secondly the staff here are absolutely brilliant, they are polite friendly and more importantly very accommodating.

Thirdly we stayed in the rally field and although the quiet time starts at 10pm I'll be honest it was lively however we are all on holiday and it was never too loud that we felt the need to moan, the fact the wardens are liberal with enforcement of the rules, as u said it's their holiday as well as ours.

Last but not least this place is totally spotless in fact this shall and has become the our local site of choice so much so we originally came Wednesday and due to leave Sunday, we couldn't bare to rush off so booked the late departure, as the morning wore on this became one last night, as we headed towards the night we have decided we will be back Thursday, if that's not testimony of how great this site is then I don't know what is, three days off and we will be back keep up the fantastic work blakemere.

User

Loved this site plenty to do for kids or all ages and a great dog walking area

Having the shops over the road was really good could just nip over for a cuppa or drink and have a nice walk round

Will defo be visiting again the only prob we had was the M62 journey there on a Friday night!

User

Just spent a couple of nights here close to home trying out our new ā€˜van. Very impressed. Friendly, helpful wardens. Good pitches and site. Toilet/shower block excellent and I am very particular! Chill out zone including a pool table for the kids. Right next door to some lovely shops at Blakemere Village, including a great micro-brewery and restaurant where they serve an all you can eat breakfast at a reasonable price.

User

Just on the way home from two nights at this fantastic site. Facilities were immaculate, staff were extremely helpful and the village shops and pub were just next door. Only criticism comes from my youngest who was disappointed the site shop didnā€™t have Jaffa cakes ļæ½ļæ½

User

Just had our second week at Blakemere, and it is still brilliant!. The site is very well kept, and the toilet/shower block is immaculate.

The staff are all very helpful, and go the extra mile to make sure your break runs smoothly. Plenty to do in the village next door and not too hilly! (I am disabled), and the little dog has plenty of room to run around in the big field.

This time we went for four nights, and enjoyed a lot. Will be coming again!!

User

Just come home from there celebrated a friends day there it was a very tidy well run site friendly welcome when you entered reception they took you to the pitch . Whilsts there had a fall due 2 my disability and paul and lisa went out there way 2 help me got took back to the tent after calming myself down chilled then she came back to c if i needed anything else.

Will defo go to the camping park again.

Thanks again for everything.

User

Had a great weekend fantastic site very friendly, great wardens always there if you need help well kept site clean and tidy. Shower block very modern plenty of showers and lovely black marble sinks nice music playing too. Lovely park for the kids and great field for me dog great site to go too always enjoy using it through the year even in the winter months.

User

Great site, nice and clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Location is handy for days out with Chester, Liverpool and Manchester all within 30 or so minutes. Bit of a shame the restaurant in the village shuts at 5pm but apart from that we couldnā€™t fault the place. Would recommend ļæ½

User

Fab site , this was our second visit. Lovely warm welcome at reception and really friendly throughout our stay. We stayed mid week so had the rally field to ourselves, great sized pitches. Toilets and showers always spotless with Smooth radio playing , lots of hooks etc in showers and a couple of sockets for hairdryers.

We visited Blakemere Village the first time we stayed and had a drink in the micro brewery and watched the birds of prey show which I think was only Ā£3 each. 20 minutes walk to a couple of pubs , The White barn which had a lovely beer garden and the I think the other is called the Blue Cap which we will visit next time we go , as we will definitely be returning!

User

We stayed at this dog friendly site with our caravan for four nights midweek in late July and enjoyed an excellent fully serviced pitch: no carrying water or grey waste!! The toilet blocks were spotless, the site well maintained and the area has a load of attractions being close to Chester, Nantwich and in the Delamere forest. The downside was the constant noise from traffic on the busy main roads which surround the site, from the dogs howling in nearby kennels and planes flying overhead probably from Liverpool Airport or possibly Manchester. The shop has a basic range of food but with oddities. No mustard. "We've never ever been asked for that" said the warden! There is a play area, paddling pools were allowed and there were lots of happy children. Everyone (but the traffic and dogs) respected the "no noise after 10 p.m." rule though.

This is a lovely site. You have the village in walking distance just up the road or the tranquility of the park. Such a great for children too. The shop has a lot of little extras that you may have forgotten at reasonably priced. Helpful, friendly staff too. Will definitely go back

Just on the way home from two nights at this fantastic site. Facilities were immaculate, staff were extremely helpful and the village shops and pub were just next door. Only criticism comes from my youngest who was disappointed the site shop didnā€™t have Jaffa cakes ļæ½ļæ½
