One of our former patients Stevie will be taking part in the Run Heaton Half Marathon on 27th January, raising money for Endometriosis UK. Stevie was treated for #endometriosis at The Beaumont Hospital by Consultant Gynaecologist Sangeeta Das earlier this year. The condition is really common, affecting around 1.5 million women in the UK. It has a severe impact on the quality of life, however getting a diagnosis can be a long and difficult process. At The Beaumont Hospital we understand that having cosmetic surgery is a big decision and there’s a lot you’ll want to consider.
You are invited to join us on Thursday 31st January or Thursday 7th February 2019 for a free fifteen minute mini consultation with two of our experienced cosmetic surgeons, Mr Sohail Akhtar and Mr Ahmed Abd El Gawad. During the appointment the consultants will discuss with you the various treatment options available and answer any questions you may ...have.

These mini consultations are a great opportunity to understand more about cosmetic surgery and discover what procedures may be suitable for you, to help you to achieve your desired look.

Appointments are 15 minutes in length, followed by the opportunity to discuss pricing information with Hayley, who can also assist you in booking a full private consultation if required.

MR SOHAIL AKHTAR: Mr Sohail Akhtar is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon who has a specialist interest in cosmetic surgery. He performs a wide range of surgical procedures to improve the appearance of the breast, abdomen and face with procedures such as eye bag removal, breast enlargement, tummy tuck and liposuction.
MR AHMED ABD EL GAWAD: Mr Ahmed Abd El Gawad is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon who has developed solid experience in plastic surgery over more than two decades. He specialises in cosmetic facial surgery, body contouring after massive weight loss, and breast surgery.

Yesterday's Christmas craft fair has raised a fantastic £330 which will be added to our community defibrillator fund. 💐 Today we said farewell to nurse Ann Borton who has retired after 33 years at The Beaumont Hospital. Ann worked on the wards initially, then with CARE Fertility and more recently in our pre-assessment clinics. Best wishes for a long and happy retirement Ann!

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting Izzy and Nuha from Bolton Sixth Form College for a work placement. Both Izzy and Nuha are studying health and social care, and are part of the college's The Futures Academy. The programme supports students with relevant experiences to ensure they are 'career-ready' at the end of their studies. We look forward to welcoming more students to the hospital next month!

🍾 Last week we said farewell to long-serving porter John Bretherton who has been with us at The Beaumont Hospital for an incredible 20 years. John's colleagues and friends joined together to wish him a long and happy retirement - best wishes John!

👻 🎃 Last week we held a Halloween spooktacular as our community defibrillator fundraising efforts continued. There was something for everyone with a pumpkin carving and spooky cake competition, as well as a giant Halloween hamper which was raffled off and of course some fancy dress costumes. Thanks to everyone's donations and support we have raised over £250!
