fab meals,great chef, who came out at a quieter moment to check things were to our liking. Chicken Sunday roast delicious and Boot and Shoe beef Burger excellent.Lemon posset and strawberry sundae to die for. Friendly service. What more could you want????... manager swiftly cleaned up my drink that i decided to throw on the floor.... not too pricey either... great team... thank you.

Visited here last night on our way back from Wales seeing Coldplay. We were staying at Lancaster Travelodge and were so glad to get good homemade food. Walked in and straight away greeted with attentive staff showing us to a table. The food order was taken at the bar efficiently and with a smile. Our order came out quickly.I had steak pie fresh veg and chunky chips, which was not only piping hot but a very generous helping. My husband had the fish and chips which was also delishes. Ordered the beer battered onion rings but unfortunately our eyes were bigger than our bellies! The young male waiter was very pleasant also. We certainly got the feeling this is a warm friendly establishment as you could hear the "craic" between staff and customers. Keep up the good work, and you never know you might see us again if we are ever down your kneck of the woods again...thank you from The Macleods in Fort William in the Highlands x

Visited a few times now and always been very pleased with the meals I’ve had with different friends. I could eat the red pepper, tomato & chorizo soup (that I believe chef Andrew made) for all three courses, and I love the fact the specials are always something different and good especially the chicken vol au vent I had last week! Will defo be back soon!

The pub looks lovely since it's been changed around, great job! Great food too.

The food was absolutely fantastic. Very filling. (I highly reccommend the hunters chicken) and the kids said the pizza is brilliant.

They loved being able to watch them being made.

Great service and rather quick too.

Just had the chicken Kiev calzone again. Cooked to perfection. Would recommend the boot and shoe if coming out for a meal and expecting good food and a friendly service.

First time at The Boot & Shoe although we've passed it numerous times noting the progress of building work etc since the massive re-furb last year.

We visited mid-afternoon for a late lunch & weren't disappointed... we can testify to the generous portion size, quality and price of the food... very very tasty... other diners seemed similarly impressed.

It appears to be a very family orientated pub/restaurant but drinkers who don't particularly want kiddie company have ample space elsewhere in the building.

The staff were friendly & attentive... the only down side is that it's over a hundred miles from home... we will return however.

Fantastic service! Great menu and love the new style of the pub and bar. It's beautifully done and I love it! The food is superb and I recommend the pie of the day dish! It was delicious! Great staff and very friendly and great atmosphere. Well done to all xx

Our local pub which is lovely. Noticed recently though that there are a lot of families with small children in the bar area rather than in the restaurant area. Small children running up and down stood at the bar with no shoes/socks on, couldn’t move for prams yesterday.

I have been a few times and usually have the chilli with garlic bread. Garlic bread on previous visits was a full circular portion of a few slices. Tonight however it did not arrive with our order and as the bar was very busy I waited to catch a waiters eye. Eventually the waiter brought myself just one small slice. He just put the plate down and left. It was to busy to try and ask someone again where the rest of it was, or have you changed portion size considerably?

Visited last night- very disappointed with the service. Pizza brought out completely not what we ordered. The waitress had no apology and said it would be a wait if we wanted a new one as the kitchen was busy. Have been here a few times since you reopened, but tonight has made me question if I would return.

I will not be retuning. The customer service is shocking, beautiful food and setting just badly run in my eyes. Such a shame!

Awful Experience...I pre booked family meal for my sons 18th celebrations so all our food choices were sent days before...we had to wait a good half hr before starters were served and they came staggered so much so that the last 2 we waited for arrived after some of us had finished. We then had another half hr wait for our meals to arrive....one person in the party had a hair in their food both starter and main. We than sat with a table full of dirty dishes again over half an hr we had to go and find a waitress so we could order 3 icecreams for kids...she came to take the order and walked away leaving all the dirty plates. It took over 20 mins for 3 desserts and in that time we cleared our own table!! After the meal i asked could i spk to the manager...told no one available so an email was sent as soon as we returned home..up to now it hasnt been acknowledged??

I would Never eat there again or tell anyone else too its expensive for pub grub and the service is appalling.

Only good thing about the place was my 4 year old loved the play area. Poor service and poor food. Wasn’t even busy and we waited ages to have food order taken, empty glasses and plates sat on table until we had asked for the bill. Won’t be returning.
