Bowley International Scout Campsite & Activity Centre Description
Bowley Scout Camp and Activity Center is at the heart of East Lancashire and is situated at the gateway to the North Ribble Valley and Pennine Moors. It is also within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, Fylde Coast and Lakeland Hills.
The centre occupies an area of 47 acres of rolling meadow land bounded by woodland and the River Calder offering visitors magnificent views of Pendle and the surrounding countryside. The site is easily reached by road with rail links to the nearby towns of Blackburn and Accrington.
Established nearly 50 years ago as a training base for members of the Scout and Guide movements, it has provided specialist outdoor skills training to hundreds of young people and adult leaders.
Bowley Scout Camp and Activity Centre does not confine its facilities to those within the Scout movement but acts as a host to schools and colleges using it as a venue for weekday and weekend courses. These offer a challenging outdoor experience stretching young people's minds by combining healthy pursuits with character building and an appreciation of teamwork.
We can also provide for groups outside scouting. You can come along to try a new activity or for corporate customers or one of the many team building activities. We can also cater for Birthday's and Wedding parties. So whatever you’re looking for get in contact for more information.
Bowley, in the scouting tradition, prides itself on being an inclusive training centre, welcoming young people and adults of all abilities, race and creed.

This weekend sees a new addition to the duty warden team. Everyone say hi to Dora who is 9 weeks old.
Please note that due to the exceptionally dry conditions, we have had to put restrictions in place for the use of fires on site.

Its great to see the YP from 1st Clitheroe having such a great time on site this weekend...even better to hear that they are getting involved with the other Groups on site this weekend!
We would also like to than k them for getting involved with a tree planting session later today...reinforcing our perimeter fence, along Dean Lane, with 500 Hawthorn trees which have been kindly donated by the nice guys at Hedge Direct.

This year we are celebrating our 50th birthday, over that time we have hosted 1000’s of young people and leaders and provided some Amazing adventures. We would like to see some of your best memories.
