Another nice stone fireplace that we installed recently, this is a ‘Rembrandt’ pattern fire surround in Semi-Rijou Limestone. We had the surround made specially to the Customers specification with a 60” shelf, and a 15” wide black granite hearth and slips. The stove is a Dean Forge Dartmoor W5 Multifuel model which we installed with a new chimney liner

The new Dunsley Advance 500 multifuel stove is clean burning and efficient. It has an A+ energy rating and passes the emmission requirements for the SIA regulations coming in 2022. Fitted on a Yorkshire stone hearth with a flue liner and fireboard chamber interior

It seems a long time since Easter, though it's only been a few days... and here are some pictures of the work our installers have done in those few days.
The first is a Dru Metro 100 XTU two sided gas fire used as a room divider. It was just a large open room but a 'false chimney breast' with the fire in creates two separate spaces each with their own 'fireside'.
The second is a Gazco Reflex 75T Gas Fire in a bespoke manufactured limestone surround. The customer was particula...r about the size and design of the fireplace, so we produced some drawings for him to approve and then got our stone masons to build a fireplace from them.
The third picture is the Logstore version of the Clock multifuel stove, on a 'D' shaped black granite hearth installed with a twin wall flue system.

From a flat wall, to a stove in a bespoke fireplace - another set of photos that show how we arrived at this stunning result We had to take out loads of bricks and rubble to reopen the old fireplace chamber, the bricks were then cleaned up and repointed and a flue liner dropped down the chimney. The made to measure sandstone fireplace and hearth were then installed, and finally the Clearview Vision 500 stove installed... all a days work for our skilled installation team

From a dated stone inglenook, to a clean cut fireplace. We fully opened up the chamber, with track and stud framing we created a new fireplace with integral logstores, put in a long reclaimed wooden beam that the Customer supplied, reused the stone from the hearth to create a new hearth, and installed a Cleanburn Nordstrand 5 woodburning stove in their Porcelain enamel finish. It just needs decorating and the skirting installed when the plaster has fully dried.

One question we hear a lot from our customers is 'Are woodburning stoves going to be banned in a few years ?' The answer to that is - No, wood burning stoves are not going to be banned.
What is happening is that in order to create a cleaner atmosphere new regulations are coming into force in 2022 which will reduce the amount of particulates stoves can produce.... Most stove manufacturers are already switched production to 'Ecodesign Ready' models so that consumers can replace their older stoves and open fires with newer, more efficient stoves which give off considerably fewer emissions.

It's not all about ripping out the old and putting in the new, sometimes you your fireplace just needs a bit of freshening up. Like this job we did, we took away the marble slab interior and replaced them with oyster 'ledge' tiles and finished it with some nice Fiorito Italica micromarble slips
