Coffee…could it really help protect us from developing Alzheimer's & Parkinson's? Research from Krembil Brain Institute suggests that phenylindanes in coffee interact with the proteins that are responsible for Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s. This looks one to watch! #dementia

We are delighted to let you know that our very own Maxine Shacklady has scooped 'The Care Trainer Award,' at the prestigious Great British Care Awards on Saturday night at Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel. It was a wonderful evening & we want to congratulate Maxine on this incredible win.
Gill Sinar & Donna Edwards from our sister company Bridgewater Day Care were also finalists in their categories, which is also a super achievement.

It may be chilly outside, but that doesn't mean we can't spread a little warmth into the lives of others!

The Great British Care Awards take place this weekend at The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel and we are extremely proud to have four members of our team as finalists in their categories!
These are very special awards for us, as finalists are chosen for their compassion, knowledge, and excellence in each field.
Bridgewater Home Care has Maxine Shacklady nominated for 'The Care Trainer Award' and Phil Eckersley for 'The Care Employer Award'!
... Bridgewater Day Care have Gill Sinar for 'The Dementia Carer Award' and Donna Edwards for 'The Dignity in Care Award'!
All four individuals have been praised for their outstanding work.
Needless to say, we are extremely excited and want to wish our team the very best of luck.

We love this short animation that has been created by Dementia UK to help children aged 8-12 understand what having dementia means and how it can impact on all our lives. It is a very useful tool, and is perfect for teaching young people how to be more compassionate. We think it could be a very useful tool indeed.

So pleased to have won the Greater Manchester Chamber Of Commerce Small or Medium Enterprise of the Year #award at the Wigan Business Awards. A true team effort. Well done everyone.

Today we remember the brave soldiers who fought for our country, who lost their lives for the freedom we enjoy today, and we give special thanks to our clients and those in our community who have been in service for our country.
Thank you.

90-year-old Frank enjoyed a halftime kick-about with football legend Tony Currie before scoring a goal in front of thousands at Sheffield's famous Bramall Lane during the club's win over Wigan Athletic. Did any of you see this? It was fantastic!
Obviously, we were sad that Wigan lost but Frank getting this opportunity more than made up for it! 😀

When my Mum was diagnosed with Altzeimer's she was living with me st the George, but the situation was unmanageable to say the least. It broke my heart when I put her into a care home. So to my mind, if she had been able to stay in her own bungalow, and have visits from carers on a regular basis, she may have been more content and happy. So I hope you carry on with what you are doing, as long as you get satisfaction with it as a working life. You deserve a medal in my eyes!, Love and hugs Sylvia xxxxx
