The PIMIS group and our staff had lots of fun canoeing and playing canoe football in the beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake last week! Who can spot the Calvert Trust centre in the background first?

Last week the Waves Day Centre was visiting us and we had lovely weather to do the activities. While one part of the group was having fun in the high ropes course, the others were doing the wheelchair challenge course under guidance of the instructors. In the afternoon Chris took them for a walk on the Dodd behind the centre to enjoy the weather.

After a pretty wet Saturday (have a look at a very full Bassenthwaite lake this morning viewed from our Centre), and a sunny afternoon on Sunday, today is turning out very pleasant. Cosgrove Care and Zeno Limited were not put off however - they have had a great weekend and are travelling back today. Great to see you and safe travels!

Sandfield Park School had a great time at the Lake District Calvert Trust at the end of September. The following comment from Sue, one of the group leaders, summed their visit up in a perfectly unique way… “For me, this is just the ideal of how the world should be for people with disability; the staff and their ethos just embodies that! We call it the ‘Calvert Bubble’ when we get back to school.” Do you get the Calvert Bubble too?!

Nigel joined us in October 2006 for what he thought would be a year or two. 12 years later, today marks both his retirement and his 65th birthday...

What a great weekend our service users had loved every minute thanks to all of the team at calvert great job again guys (even phils mopping skills have got better lol) thanks again from all at LCD Oaklands

We're just back from an amazing week! The activities were fantastic and so much fun! The gentleman we were supporting had a fabulous holiday and is already talking of coming back. Alot of that was down to our instructors Tori and Celia! The ladies were so professional and just totally made our holiday. I think that what yous provide is totally outstanding and Calvert Trust should be extremely proud to provide such amazing holidays! We met so many amazing people and made some lifelong friends! So Thankyou Calvert �

We visited with a group of our families this weekend just gone and had an amazing stay our group tutors were absolutely fantastic and helped our families have some wonderful experiences canoeing, zip wiring, horse riding, archery, swimming and even a disco and birthday cake for one of our group thanks to the chef for that and amazing food

We will have to get fund raising so we can take them all again next year Thank you

The Bradford Toy Library

We have had an amazing time. Phil was such a patient instructor as we're all the others who helped us. Lovely walk, canoeing, climbing wall, hi swing, archery, zip wire and finally bushcraft. Cannot believe my husband and I managed to do all this but we did. What's more we enjoyed trying everything. A great big thank you to everyone. Food and accommodation were really good too.

This is an amazing place the team made us welcome and comfortable and we loved the challenges and achievements through activities. Fab facilities can't wait to visit again

The time spent here last week was amazing the children had a fantastic time and couldn't believe that all the activities were accessible to them! The staff were brilliant, interacting with the children appropriately and the children found them easy to trust. Everything is possible at the Calvert trust! I've been 5 times to support the children and I have just as much fun as they do! Thrilled by every experience!

Our son and his friend, both with complex needs, visited last weekend with a team of their carers. Their first holiday without family so a very big milestone! They had an absolute ball, and so did the carers! I've been told facilities, staff, location, food and activities were all amazing and the smiles on our boys faces in the photos says it all. I can't believe how much they did and achieved. Heartfelt thanks for what you do to provide this fantastic facility to enable our boys and others to do what their mainstream peers can do. More trips will be arranged for sure.

Love it great experience and friends look forward to it every year. I would love to do a sponsored canoe to raise funds for the Calvert trust Keswick. busy training need a contact at centre to co-ordinate and use social media to get in as much as i can for such a great cause.

Just got back from a weekend at the centre-just brilliant! My 5 year old is autistic and didn't want to come home! So much to do and all tailored to your group individual needs! Our instructor jane was just amazing patient and friendly even the kitchen staff who accomodated our sons limited diet made us feel nothing was too much trouble! Can't recomend this place highly enough!

It was great from start to finish brilliant facilities for all I got my eyes opened wide cant wait till we come back Rob is amazing nothing stops him thanks to Rob and loo and all the fantastic staff see you s soon

A big thank you to Rob our instructor he does a great job and all the staff at the centre were friendly and helpful the accommodation was good and the food was fantastic. I visited the Calvert trust centre in September with my brother Rob and my dad, it was really hard to persuade Rob initially to go and do an activity weekend to actually bring him to the Lakes, but we all loved it.



Rob had an amazing time and partly because we had a super cool instructor called Jane who was lovely with my brother which i really appreciated.



We will definitely be back!!

I had an amazing time last weekend with staff and service users. Staff are amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Activities were great and there was so much to choose from

Having visited the trust in the Lake district for the first time 11th to the 14th Sept this year we were stunned at the setting and the centre itself, having spoken to the staff on the phone to discuss our clients disabilities and needs we had high expectations, the staff easily surpassed these with their wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm. Our client has not stopped talking about his time there or how much he enjoyed it and is more than happy to show his pictures and videos to our other clients. He would like us (his two tame clowns,Kev and John) to express his thanks to the whole staff team (especially our instructor Nick) for what seems to have been the best holiday he can remember.

Having revisited the Calvert trust a second time 29/5/17 to 2/6/17 this time with four service users we once again had our expectations exceeded by the staff team, both our guys and their staff members had a fantastic time achieving goals they didn't think they could and making new friends. Our time was filled with excitement and laughter, and our special thanks go out to Chris Green and Hayley Wilson and we would like to express our gratitude to them for showing our guys such a wonderful time. We will hopefully see you all soon. With many thanks Kevin Galli and John Lee

Had a wonderful time here this week with pupils from the school I work at. Everybody got so much from this experience, including the staff! We took part in fun activities, and many of us conquered fears.. Rob and Rob were brilliant instructors - both were kind, friendly, fun, knowledgeable and patient. The food and rooms were also spot on.. a very clean and tidy place. I can’t wait to return with my family! Thank you so much to everyone who made our visit so perfect!

Excellent time at the weekend. Loved the continuity of one instructer all the time (Rob you were ACE). Naff weather didn't stop us doing everything. Excellent program of activities and great that we found it all out upon arrival on the Friday as it helped us explain to Jack what was coming up. He is full of beans and telling everyone. We will be back soon!

Came to the Calvert trust in September 2016 supporting people we work with had an amazing week with Phil and didn't think that week could be topped! However just on our way home from our second visit to the Calvert trust supporting my sister and have had another amazing week with our instructor Jane who was absolutely fantastic couldn't of asked for more. She was amazing with the people in our group from interacting with them to encouraging them to participate in the activities set for us. No room for improvement just keep up the good work. See you in September for another fun packed week.

An amazing place for disabled and able bodied people and their carers. Such an awesome time and loads to do for all ability’s. food very good and the people who arrange and help with all the activities deserve medals..weather could have been better but the scenery is just awesome

Just come back from an amazing weekend with one of our service users.

She loved all the activities and we can't wait to come back next year.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating especially with myself, who was on night shift duties, making sure I had food to eat during the night.
