Cambian Dilston College Description
Cambian Dilston College is a specialist provider of further education in North East England, offering day, short-break and outreach services, and up to 52-week residential placements for young people with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and complex needs.
We offer all learners the opportunity to participate in a full and active extended curriculum: promoting, supporting and challenging them to make progress and achieve their fullest potential.
Our person-centred approach provides learners with individualised learning programmes developed to effectively match their needs, personal decisions and aspirations, be the focus on daily living skills, vocational qualifications or independent living. *

Our Media Studies students produced a video to promote an Easter egg hunt at the college.
"The bad bunnies are bored of eating carrots so they steal the chocolate eggs from the Easter bunny and hide them to eat later. Can the Dilston Students find the chocolate eggs before the bad bunnies eat them...?"
Our Media Group ran a mini event to raise money for Red Nose Day on Thursday 14th March and we raised an amazing £50.25. We threw wet sponges at staff in the Stocks and there were cakes and red noses to buy. Everyone tried to wear something red on the day. The students made a brilliant effort baking all the cakes and goodies themselves.
Students have been celebrating the Chinese New Year. They made lots of good things to eat and some Chinese Lanterns. This year it is the year of the pig and one of our students is using Makaton to sign pig.
Students, staff and parents enjoyed a fun filled afternoon of Christmas Festivities yesterday. Our drama students performed a showcase of drama and music and our talented staff band provided some great musical entertainment. There were stalls selling handmade Christmas Wreaths and decorations; all made by our Forest School and Land-based students. Our students entered the Christmas Tree Festival held in St Andrew’s Church in Corbridge. This is an annual event with some amazing themed trees from the many businesses in and around Corbridge. This week students and staff visited a Synagogue in Gateshead. The visit has helped to promote mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith. #britishvalues

Students and staff took part in a Team Challenge for BBC Children in Need. Teams took part in a variety of challenges such as a scavenger hunt in the grounds, physical challenges, assault course and more. The whole event was a great success with lots of fun and everyone made a great effort to get involved.
