Popped by Blue Smile this week to see how funding from my Youth and Community Fund is facilitating arts based therapy to support young people with complex mental health needs. This preventative approach can help protect vulnerable young people from slipping into the cycle of crime. You can find more information on the Youth and Community fund here 👉https://bit.ly/2v2ZSJg

It was a pleasure to speak at the first Eastern Region Anti-Slavery Partnership Conference today at Imperial War Museum Duxford. Unfortunately modern slavery still exists in the U.K. and we all have a role to play in recognising the signs of modern slavery and how to report it appropriately. The ability to do so may help save someone’s life.
Multi-agency partnerships are vital to tackling this horrendous crime and we must improve our collective response across the Eastern region. This can only be achieved by working collaboratively and sharing best practice in forums such as the one I attended today.

Spotting the signs of victims of modern slavery can be difficult - employees have a address in the UK, bank account, ID that all check out? Businesses can play a part in identifying and addressing risks within supply chains. Visit https://www.gla.gov.uk/ for more details. @UK_Glaa

About to open today's workshop in Force HQ to help local businesses spot the signs of people who may be victims of modern day slavery - great to see so many people in the room!
