Love it here. The first time we came the food was not good and waited ages to get it but this time it was great - quick service and my salmon with new potatos was delicious.

Had a lovely day out with friends and our food was lovely and hot , very well presented x

After a last minute visit to Carr Farm today with my little boy, I was very touched to see the Forget me not farm being supported by a visiting team of helpers out in the cold looking after the animals.

For £1 it is an absolutely amazing place to see, the staff we’re super friendly, smiling and chatting, and it made for a wonderful visit!

I would definitely recommend to anybody and thank you for such a lovely experience

We went to the Christmas launch and decided to stay and have a meal. we both had the Turkey dinner and couldn’t fault it food was hot and plenty of it. Considering how busy the restaurant was we were impressed on the quality of the food.

User

We went on Sunday 10th June to buy some rock plants ,had a look around at the clothing etc ,there was a large lady with a Carr Farm t.shirt sitting on some garden furniture, and in the whole of the time we where there she never moved , ( maybe tea break ) but there must be a area for staff ,or the cafe but it looked like she was keep a watch out , felt uncomfortable with no need on are behalf , it was busy and only two till’s on plus a queue behind

User

We often visit with family and friends. Nice range of shopping. Cafe very busy, food is wholesome and good value. The wait for food can be very long, so be prepared.

User

Food is pretty awful. Had a full English and it came out with a massive black pudding about three inches thick and a sausage which had red pepper in. Meals have always been not great here , rest of the place is lovely especially the craft shop and candles . Just wish they would hire new chefs and change the breakfast items

User

Can not fault the garden centre at all lovely staff and plenty of choice but I was very disappointed with my meal at the restaurant I ordered the poached eggs on toast when it arrived the eggs were hard and tasted of vinegar the toast was also of a low standered for nearly five pounds you would expect much better .I did send this meal back with a lovely member of staff who replaced it for me which came back slightly better .This is the second time iv eaten here but don't think I will be going again

User

We come a lot and usually love it. We have eaten in the cafe on lots of occasions and staff are usually clued up on meal ingredients. I was really disappointed on Wednesday when I visited with my 2 young children who have allergies. I asked the server if she could check if 2 meals contained any ingredients my little ones couldn't have. After returning from the kitchen she said that first meal probably does and the other item couldn't be checked as the packaging had been thrown away!!! Despite having a sign that says to ask for details of food if any allergies or intolorances. The staff clearly didnt have a clue. After asking if there was anything they could have, they answered "I dont know!!!" I was furious. We had to go hungry and wait another half an hour to leave as we had painted pottery drying. Won't be back to the cafe in a hurry!!

User

Very disappointed. I visit a few times a week and today needed to return 2 items only to be told that we DO NOT give cash refunds. The items I bought for Xmas where not faulty, they where Ant farms but how do you explain to a child they cannot have the ants until March. So these items are not suitable for a xmas gift. The owner of this establishment was quick to point out that he was “going above and beyond what he had to legally do and he had been doing it for 32yrs so that’s his policy” so public please read the small print policy that is on the counter by the till size 6x4 but also covered up by other leaflets.

User

Very arrogant people that own the business. Its all about the tills ringing and nothing else. Customer service and help is not there at all .And far to expensive .

User

The score is in regards to the Atrium Restaurant and Cafe and toilet facilities. Unfortunately the baby change has no loo for parents in it l and the option of going to the ladies loo with a pram and peeing with the door open was not one I fancied. Only other option is to use disabled loo after having used the baby change but it was in use. As lovely as the restaurant looks now (it's been years since I've been) the only vegan options were beans on jacket potato or veg soup...I wish I'd picked the beans and jacket, it was OK but small and expensive for what it actually is and nothing special. Due to the huge amount of signage saying speak to us about allergens and what is in your food I had some hope of options being readily available. That being said the staff were nice.

User

Shockingly bad service in Carr farm. Advise everybody to avoid. Or don't buy anything because if it's wrong you won't get your money back, even if you bought it an hour ago. Disgusting outdated policy that doesn't allow customer to change their mind. Will never shop there again.

User

Served meat in the gravy on a vegetarian dish. Made us sit at a table with someone’s else’s dishes on. Then failed to clear them before we ate. On a Thursday afternoon when it wasn’t busy. Lazy bone idle staff, bad attitudes and too many cooks spoil a broth!

I have frequented carr farm garden centre and purchased many items over the last few years so to have to write a negative review is disappointing. However today I took my son and nephew to see santa in their (what looked to be) lovely fun grotto. The prices were £6.99 for a standard present or £8.99 for a deluxe present. I asked the 'elf' at the desk what the difference was (obviously apart from £2). To which she said she did not know as the gifts are pre wrapped. She did point out that the deluxe was more suitable for over 3's and they were age appropriate. OK we thought. We'll get the £8.99 present. She then pointed out that no photos can be taken with santa but for £3 they would take a photo for us. Yes...£12 to see santa and get a 'deluxe' gift (by whatever definition deluxe means to them even though they have no idea what is inside the presents) and forced to pay extra for a photo. I asked if it would be OK just to take one photo on my phone to which she said no it was against carr farms 'policy'. So we decided not to be ripped off and would go elsewhere. On the way out I asked to see the manager or whoever was in charge of the grotto. I was met by a lady wearing antlers (very festive...if I wasn't complaining). I explained our disappointment really just hoping we would be allowed to take one photo. She started to explain that their research found that their prices were in line with current grotto prices...blah blah blah (completely switched off as this can not be true of local prices!) Again she was adamant that no photos can be taken with santa unless we pay the extra £3...which would have been £6 as we wanted two photos. So £24 to see santa. Went to gordale...paid £5.50 each for a great experience with santa, a great toy and even had the elves there help to take our photos!! Not to mention their grotto is organised by a local charity. I have no idea if carr farm grotto does or not. But I really hope the proceeds go to some cause an not just to profits of carr farm. I am utterly disappointed with carr farms 'policy' on grotto rules and completely appalled by your staffs lack of professionalism when dealing with someone who was a loyal customer.

I don't live in the area anymore but visited Carr Farm to meet a friend. I decided to buy a bunch of silk flowers, all on one stem, and when I went to the till I asked the lady if she could cut the long stem of the flowers (plastic and wires) as I wanted a shorter stem to put on my brother's grave stone as I am not able to visit often. The lady didn't have any wire cutters so suggested I pay on the way out and she said they will be able to help me. So... went to the tills, three young boys waiting to serve and to the left of the tills a further two people. I asked nicely if they could just cut the end of the stem off with some wire cutters. They said they didn't have any so I asked if anyone in another department could help and at this moment a very curt lady on the left side shouted that they didn't have any and when I asked if there was anyone in there to help she again said we haven't got any and no..... so I went back to the department to return the flowers only for the lady on the till there to say she was sure there was somebody who could cut it to the right size for me... she couldn't leave her department and beckoned me to try at the far end of the shop. A very nice gentleman working there kindly came to my rescue and sorted it for me so I then proceeded to pay at the exit. As I walked back the very offensive lady was still sitting there so I said I have managed to get somebody to do it and commented that they were giving dreadful customer service. This woman by the name of Karyn Jones is absolutely a discredit to your business with her attitude and is in need of customer service skills.... the poor boys on the tills were frightened to say 'boo' in my opinion for fear of her. Sorry but customer service is imperative to run a successful business and after reading the comment below about customer service I think as business owners you should start listening to your customers and arrange for skills in this area. I have had a dreadful experience and will not ever be visiting there again. I would add that I know the Jones family who are related to me through a family member's marriage and visited the Garden Centre regularly until I moved out of the area and had no problem at that time with customer service..... what on earth has happened since then?

User

I always come to Carr farm but today I had a horrible experience whilst shopping in the Yankee candle section I had a rude member of staff follow me round with my items in my trolley and then began whispering to another colleague about myself. Then when I got near the till by the candles starting asking if I was planning on buying what was in my trolley. I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable when buying something before felt like she thought I was going to steal something really think certain staff need training in customer service as had a similar experience with the same staff member last year. Will not be returning any time soon!!

User

Having been a customer of Carr Farm for 20+ years I'm sorry to say that I won't be shopping here anymore. I've been increasingly disappointed with the service over the past few years and an incident in store yesterday has been the final straw. This used to be a lovely friendly, family run garden centre but now it has become a vast soulless place with apparently little consideration for staff or customer well being. There are plenty more garden centres on Wirral...use them!

I always come to Carr farm but today I had a horrible experience whilst shopping in the Yankee candle section I had a rude member of staff follow me round with my items in my trolley and then began whispering to another colleague about myself. Then when I got near the till by the candles starting asking if I was planning on buying what was in my trolley. I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable when buying something before felt like she thought I was going to steal something really think certain staff need training in customer service as had a similar experience with the same staff member last year. Will not be returning any time soon!!
