We have just returned home from 2 nights of camping here. Our pitch had an amazing view, the facilities were the best we have ever seen on a campsite and the staff were very helpful. Cannot fault this campsite in any way at all. We will definitely return to this site

Turned up without booking on a busy bank holiday and staff were very welcoming, very helpful and managed to fit us in. Everything of high standard, shower blocks, environmental consideration, shop, restaurant (breakfast and evening meal were excellent) and views

This is a fantastic site with beautiful views down to Derwentwater. The facilities are very, very good. There's a shop with a wide variety of goods, a restaurant and bar and many more useful facilities. I've been going since the mid 90's and with regular investment the site just keeps getting better and better. Basically I would definitely recommend Castlerigg Hall Campsite.

This is a fantastic campsite with something for everyone, great scenery, great facilities and a lovely skip and restaurant. This us our second time here now in our own motorhome, we will be back time and time again

The site is in an amazing location with lovely views. The staff are really friendly, the shop is really well stocked so if you forgot a bag ( like we did) you can get what you need. The toilet/ shower blocks are immaculately kept. The restaurant while small was very good, and the campers kitchen was really handy and kept really clean too. We had a lovely time there and would definitely recommend.

Superb campsite. There is an on site bar and restaurant and a shop that stays open til about 9pm. Toilet block facilities are equally good. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. OK so there are cheaper places to camp, but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. If you want a rough field with a shower cubicle in the corner of a cowshed then go ahead. I'll pay a little extra for the on site services thank you!

One word from me....amazing.

The site is in a beautiful position overlooking Derwent Water, each pitch is plenty big enough and you don't feel like you are imposing on your neiggbour. There is a fantastic shop on site, 'Jiggers' the restaurant is well worth a visit with very reasonably priced food (good sized portions too). The facilities are impeccably clean and tidy, every member of staff was polite and friendly and as the last stop on a 2 week holiday for us, it was a brilliant last camp. We look forward to returning and exploring the area from this site.

Not a camper so tried out the castlepod!! Absolutely loved it. Kids loved it even more, they loved the bunk beds. Shower room, toilets and pot wash room are immaculate (big well done to the cleaners) Receptionist is very polite & helpful. Beds in the castlepod are very comfy too, heater makes it nice & cosy. Will def book again next year. P.s try out the restaurant, small but serves amazing fresh home cooked food

Just spent 6 nights there camping with family. This is the second time we ve camped there. Views are amazing. Facilities are fab and walk to Keswick is only 30 minutes away. Love the Lakes just unlucky with weather last week, had a few days of rain but that's the Lakes for you. Had to take tent down in rain which was an experience!! Drying out now in my back garden. Anyone thinking of going here I would definitely recommend.

Just returned from a one night stay at Castlerigg Hall. It was my first experience of camping and I can't wait to do it again :) Couldn't have picked a better site. The staff were friendly. The site had everything you need and made a night of camping in the rain much more bareable, the on-site restaurant was great. We had tea and breakfast there and found it to be reasonably priced. The site is maintained to a high standard and the shop was well stocked with everything you would need :) Can't wait to return. Thank You Castlerigg Hall ⛺⛺

User

Definately the best site we have stayed on. The site it's self has great views over derwentwater, the toilet blocks are immaculate, the shop facilities have everything you could need, the jiggers on site restaurant is small and dog friendly, but the food is good and the staff very friendly. We will definately stay here again

Beautiful place. Well run and very friendly. Nice little shop stocking all the essentials. Stunning views. Lovely bike ride or walk onto Keswick but obviously you have a big hill to climb to get back, but well worth it.

When we arrived on the Friday afternoon we were greeted with a hello... How many of you are there? In the car it was just myself and my husband. We were met with.. if there is a group of you we can't let you in. I can only say it was because we were a young couple he I made this observation. We explained we were meeting another couple (who we meet every year at the same camp site) to which the guy said wait a minute and spoke to his colleague. After a few moments we were told to park up and they will direct us. The whole experience was so ANTI holiday. It started our weekend off to a bad start. It was not just what the guy said but the way he said it. I'm a 32 year old man paying money.. (it's not cheap) to put up my tent to enjoy the bank holiday weekend. I understand the group policy but when you have 2 family's joining together (which happened on the Friday night) they don't question them at all as they have children with them. And because there was four of us the ground staff seemed to flock around our tent ... Were all in our 30s and are quite capable of being quiet after 10. Apart from that the grounds are great and the shower facilities and fantastic! But upon arrival people want to be met with thanks and not barked at and made to feel like criminals!

Lovely site with great selection of facilities. Warm toilet/shower/pot wash block. However the ladies were a little smelly (which was resolved just prior to us leaving after a good bleach (I think some nice smelling disinfectant in the bucket should be available as I fear the mop you use to clean shower area after you use it was the reason it was a little wiffy, a kind off sweaty feet/vomit smell - hence the 4/5 rating)

Would love to experience this site in the sunshine - we've had typical northern weather but views were still stunning. Sloping camping field and wet boggy fields following heavy downpours was another reason for the 4 stars but don't let it put you off completely. It's a lovely place and we would recommend it as a great place close to Keswick. Beautiful place.

Great campsite, great facilities. Views are amazing. However, ruined by the group of "lads" that were up until past 2am laughing, shouting and slamming car doors.
