Hello Dancers!
Those of you who were at Scorch last weekend will know that, following feedback from our online blog, we shortened Cabaret hour and kept the performances to less than 15 minutes.
Mike asked that you let us know whether or not you liked this change on your feedback forms. Well...you havent disappointed! I have read this morning over 300 forms, and the following quotes summarise the sentiment:
... "I miss the teachers' spotlights - can we please have this back at every weekender" - GL
"Put the cabarets on at 9pm for those that want to see them, please stop interrupting our dancing" - ST
"I always look forward to the cabarets, and this time there wasn't enough. More please!!!! - HL
"Much better. I enjoy the Cabaret, but the shorted time meant minimal interruption to freestyle. Thank you." - AL
"It would be great if you could organise chairs for everyone, because sitting on the floor for 30 minutes is uncomfortable." - SF
In summary, I would say the majority of people enjoy the teachers spotlight, but do want a shorter cabaret slot. There are just as many people who want us to scrap the cabaret slot altogether, as there are who want us to take it back to 45 minutes long, so hopefully we have found a happy medium. Do you have any further thoughts? Feel free to comment below!
At Splash, there will be no cabarets, but we will be piloting something new to see if this is more popular. Again your feedback will be valued and we may decide on a winning formula, or simply mix things up at each event.

Well it did not disappoint my first weekend and didn't stop dancing iced every second can't wait to do it again in September, thank you to all the amazing teachers and organisations for making it happen it was overwellming that everyone was so nice xxx

The attention to detail by the Ceroc staff and crew to make sure that everyone has a fantastic weekend is incredible.

Now that I've had 9 hours of unbroken sleep I can just echo the other comments. Fab weekend/best ever! Thanks to the bulls for the set up, and to everyone else for making it such a grand weekend. Loved it all!

My very First Weekender... and oh my what a way to start. Fabulous people, wonderful dancing but the friendship, patience, sharing of dance knowledge and love was amazing....can't wait to be back..... Thank you so much to all .... xx❤️

My review is based entirely on the content of the weekend and not on the standard of the accommodation offered!!! Have never ever danced Ceroc before or anything similar, but as an absolute novice have had a blast. Attended all of the beginners classes (this meant that 02.00am was as late as we could manage). Bought the shoes, bought the DVD and talking about Brean... enough said...apart from thanks. Loved watching some fabulous dancers, with the hope that one day I might look even half as good as you experts....💃🕺🏽.

My first weekender, and loved every minute of it. Here with lots of friends, and made a few new ones too. I got everything out of it i hoped to, and bit more besides. Just wish I'd tried one sooner, it's improved my confidence no end. I'll be back.

My first Southport in about 10 years, it was amazing then and it’s even better now, met some old friends and made many new friends too, thanks to all you lovely ladies for the fabulous dances xx

If you're a dancer then this is the place to be. The atmosphere is electric and it's action packed all day and night. SCORCH this year was no exception, the DJs played awesome music all weekend (as one of the DJs, I'm not including myself in that statement, I'll leave that up to those who were there to decide on that one), and the classes were well received (there are plenty to choose from). If you've never been before, get booking for the next one, you won't want to miss out!!

If you like dancing you have to try it, it is dancers heaven. This is my third time and it gets better everytime.

I'm only one month in to Ceroc and wanted to come and experience a weekender as everyone was saying how good it was at Southport ... and it was my birthday too! We managed to get booked in and had the most amazing time! Learnt a lot ... had loads of fun ... great lovely and sociable people ... had the time of my life. Thank you to the organisers who make this happen!

I went to the ceilidh, purely to watch and take photos, however, after some gentle persuasion, I participated in what for me was the highlight of the weekend. I don't think I've ever had such a vigorous workout and laughed so hard! The Sunday afternoon Swingers hour in glorious sunshine was a special treat to behold the colourful and stylish attire and the S'Funk that followed was sensational. To the cabaret performers, the DJ's, the teachers and the fellow revellers, a big thank you for another superb weekender. My feet have fallen off, but it was worth it!

Fab time as usual, brilliant fun with immediate company, this expanded to everyone we met. Couple of things were disappointing at the time, the state of accommodation, was the worst it has been, the chalet was disgustingly dirty to a point where we got the cleaner to come back and provide cleaning items which weren't there (brush) so we could clean ourselves. The second was a member of our party being twice refused a dance by the same teacher, on 2 separate occasions I must add, this didn't bother her too much but we found it quite rude as this could have effected newbys on a first visit, denting confidence. Before I get shot down, I fully appreciate it if busy with whatever they could be busy with, but a simple " I'll find you for a dance" or " come find me in 10" would be perfectly acceptable, and yes, we did feed this back using the correct channels.

Otherwise utterly fab as usual!

Ceroc weekenders at Southport always fill me with delight but for me this was definitely the best ever, despite the variable weather. The DJs in the Boudoir were on fire, I enjoyed ALL the music, and every dance was a joy. Great to catch up with so many old friends and meet some great new people too. And a special shout out to Danny Gallina and Neil Strugnell for you excellent set late Saturday afternoon - I loved it!

Another excellent weekend as ever. A great variety of workshops and DJ's. My only complaints were the music on Saturday night in the Thunderball room as I felt it went a bit flat after the cabaret (the music was more suited to the SILC/Blues rooms I felt) and I would have liked a Musicality workshop rather than a Masterclass, but overall I was happy. Big props to DJ's Mark O'Reilly, Ashley Davis and the ever energetic Hayley Epps.

5 years ago I was nervous. No need it was a welcoming as ever.

Fab dance and catch up with mike Ellard.

Even got a private wcs lesson with stew bassie, first time in 15 years it made sence.

Once again some great lessons and had tremendous fun all weekend. But was it just me or was the main room way hotter on the Sunday night?

It falls short of 5 stars only because Pontins really need to employ some cleaners - walking round the chalet I felt like breaking into a Wilson, Kepple & Bettie tribute
