Next week's Lunchtime Concerts have a special focus, as keyboard students perform the entire solo piano works of Maurice Ravel over three days from Tuesday to Thursday in free public concerts from 1.30pm daily

Yesterday we got a sneak peek of Wind in the Willows rehearsals for this Saturday. It sounded so beautifully evocative and pastoral. Lovely to hear our Director of Music guiding the performers to feel the atmosphere of the music and the characters. Exciting news that The Commonwealth Resounds @CWResounds at Chetham's has been nominated for the Charity Governance Awards 2019, for its work creating opportunities and musical projects for young musicians throughout the Commonwealth (and providing marvellous international connections for our young musicians at the same time!)

Did you know? Chetham's students range in age from just 8 to 18 years old. They're admitted purely on musical potential - there are no academic entry requirements, and we offer informal advice auditions to make sure the application process supports young musicians along the way

A very special Music for a While Manchester Cathedral this week as part of our #Chethams50 celebrations. Year 12 choir and Franck's Violin Sonata in a free concert at 1.10pm, Thursday 4 April, raising money for the homeless people of Manchester through Booth Centre

This Easter, explore musical tales of the riverbank with Neil Brand's live adaptation of children's classic The Wind in the Willows. Singers and players from Greater Manchester Music Hub, and actors from Manchester School of Acting, with David Threlfall as our narrator, Mr Badger. Join him, and Mole, Rat, Toad and friends, as they embark on their charming and hilarious adventures on the river, the road, and through the Wild Wood - if only the stoats and weasels don't get in the way!
