Roaming Nativity 2018. Santa popped in to Churchfield House to say hello to the good children of Great Harwood, and to talk to them about the real meaning of Christmas. Fortified by the Christmas spirit and warm mince pies people knocked at the door of St. Bartholomew`s Church - to learn there was no room at the Inn - only a stable on the Memorial Park. With hope in their hearts the crowd followed a star - and there, laid in a manger with straw for a bed, they found the Christchild. The donkeys were feeding, or having a well deserved rest and the sheep and goats, guinea pigs and rabbits were there to delight the children young and old! (Thank you Stephen and Alldays Farm). Wonderful!. The crowds then gathered in church to celebrate the hope of peace and love, in the world and in our hearts. 💖

We had my aunties pearl wedding anniversary here this evening and I decided that I must write a review now because it was just so amazing. The ladies did the buffet which I know is an enormous task, but they pulled it off deliciously. We had minimal decoration but what we did have worked splendidly for the house. We rented a roulette table for an upstairs room, had a bar in the other and a games room in the remaining. Downstairs we had tables and chairs, space for a little dance floor and the library was for the buffet. I cannot rave enough about the place and would seriously urge you to support this community house in any way possible and I give an enormous round of applause to the ladies who put so much effort into making it a success. Thank you. (Photos to come)
