Great article in the Times today highlighting the fantastic work done by Surfers Against Sewage - Wirral and in particular Rebekah, who has worked tirelessly to sign up so many local businesses and bring to all our attention how we can reduce our Single Use Plastic! It will be awkward and fumbling changing from plastic bags to reusable bags, getting into the habit of filling a basket with loose fruit and veg and bagging up at the till...but that little bit of extra time spen...t doing that will make a difference and we have to start somewhere! Well done to all the Wirral businesses leading the way and thank to all the customers that support the changes. Refuse, Reduce, Reuse ūüíôūüĆĪūüĆćūüĆäūüĆ≥

So, how's all your Christmas preparation going? We are doing ok, the calm before the storm...but it's coming and from now on it's time people start thinking about all the food and when we start getting busy. So our opening hours make it really easy to come before or after the main mid day peak times. We are open from 7am in the morning to 7pm at night Fri-Sun and then till 3pm on Xmas eve. I guarantee if you come before 9 or after 5, it's genuinely a lovely place to be and ...do your shopping with very few people about. We will have an extra till on too this year, so 4 on the go at the busiest times to keep the queue down to a minimum. ūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄū üéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄ So, I won't be shopping anywhere else.... Prawns, Potted Shrimp or Pate for starters and then Turkey or Nut Roast with all the trimmings for mains, especially our Home Grown Sprouts, Cauliflower and Pickled Red Cabbage. Then it's Cartmel Sticky Toffee, Christmas Pudding, Ice Cream and then of course the Cheese (I think the best part) Everything you need, including your beer, wine and fizz we have, what ever we can't source as locally or as seasonally as possible, we stock it because it's good!! We have our own butchers counter @whieldons on hand for all your Christmas meats too. Cheap food comes at a cost, often hidden from the buyer, be it animal welfare, the quality of the product, integrity of it's origin or even a squeezed supplier. Claremont offers quality local produce at a fair price, reducing our carbon footprint by reducing food miles, reducing unnecessary packaging & plastics...all of which helps our environment, strengthens our local community, keeps local families in business and creates a sustainable local economy. We hope to see as many of you as possible over the next few days and we hope this year will be your best year for quality and service at Claremont....and i can guarantee our Sprouts will be the tastiest sprouts you will eat that's for sure, they are ūüĎĆūüŹľūüėčūüíö It's normal opening hours in the cafe and we are serving an all day breakfast till 1.30pm on Xmas eve!! Good luck everyone ūüėėūüíú

Plastic FREE: Land/Sea/Wirral/Uk/Earth That would be the dream wouldn't it, to find alternatives so it doesn't end up in our ecosystem, destroying and killing. This may be a few years off but we need to act now and do as much as we can as individuals and businesses before it's too late! We have always thought Claremont was pretty good with our Eco credentials but we knew we could always do more....

Dear Friends, we are very excited to invite you to our very own NYE Bonsai Hi Fi Party! We had both fallen out of love with NYE as heading into town had become a nightmare so we have decided to host our own NYE celebration right here on the Farm. With a late license, we can let the night carry on for a bit longer as i know everyone is always left wanting more from the Bonsai hi Fi Parties!! As always Bonsai Hi Fi’s very own selector Pooky will be playing an exquisite mix of s...oul, funk, disco, reggae, afro with a side order of deep house, 80’s pop 12′ mixes and pretty much anything that fits our sonic aesthetic all played on incredibly rare and beautifully maintained 12 inch vinyl pressings on this magnificent world class system.
The evening as always will be starting off nice, slow and funky in the early part while the amps warm up, right up to a late evening crescendo….if you really love music you may just have found your paradise !
Due to the location and intimate nature of these events, numbers are very limited, so, apologies in advance, but strictly first come first served basis (on line prior booking essential, no paying on the night or on the door). We cannot wait to share this experience with you.
Monday 31st December2018
7pm till 1am (last entry 9:00pm)
Minimum Age: 18
Tickets available below and includes a drink at the midnight hour to toast the New Year in with.

I never get bored of coming to the farm and seeing that view, even better now that we get to share it with everyone that comes to the shop and cafe. We have a very special little business here with an incredible family of customers that prides itself on supporting our talented, local, independent businesses. We have loved seeing our business grow and in turn the other businesses we support grow too. It really does make a difference to your local community how you spend your money. In a time of economic and environmental uncertainty we have the power to strengthen our own local community, reduce our food miles, our packaging our carbon footprint and step away from a system that just isn't working like it was sold to us. If you can make one little change this Christmas, make a local one xx

What a lovely place! Myself and four friends arrived yesterday for afternoon tea, there was some confusion with our booking resulting in us not being able to have the official afternoon tea BUT we would never have known! We were offered as close to afternoon tea as possible and we were an awkward bunch, vegetarians, a vegan and a gluten free! Staff were all so lovely and attentive, we were spoilt and we were very much compensated for the booking error. We’ve even been invited back for official afternoon tea free of charge as an apology. The food was all so delicious and we all are very very excited to come back! Would highly recommend to anyone! I’ll definitely be a regular visitor when visiting the Wirral x x

User

Went for Beer tasting upstairs, never been up there before, its lovely! Great chat from the brewers, lovely food and good beer - mostly....:) Want to come for breakfast soon!

User

We have visited on many occasions recently and thouroully enjoy the food and service and appreciate how hard your kitchen staff work to create a very pleasurable dining experience. Your parent folk event was brilliant well organised and a great day all round a 5* experience every time Thank you to the Claremont team!

User

We have just been for the most fabulous afternoon tea. I’m not sure where the chef was trained but the pastry melts in your mouth. The cakes and desserts are the best I have ever tasted and believe me I have tasted all kinds. This afternoon tea is filled with delights and far far more than a sandwich and a scone, believe me if you want to give your tastebuds a treat go ahead and book. I have to add that all the staff are so happy and attentive and nothing is too much trouble tea/coffee is also flowing. I promise once tried you will not be dissapointed. Thanks Claremont especially Laura and team fabulous afternoon tea. Little tip this needs to be booked you can’t just get on the day and when you see the standards that the chef goes to you will understand why.

We had a delicious lunch today. Home grown asparagus with smoky bacon poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Divine

It was busy but the service was excellent Back again soon

Today was very hot, to hot for moonpie the Pomeranian. Luckily the nice people at Claremont have made an indoor dog friendly area, with water and dog biscuits. So if it’s too hot or wet or cold and you want somewhere nice to go with your dog. Head over to Claremont farm they do nice things for humans to.

Strawberry picking was great fun with my little girl. We also like the cakes in the coffee shop, as a treat now and then ÔŅĹ

User

Love Claremont family and so excited that the strawberries are out. Great place for a family trip out.

User

I went here today for my birthday breakfast and it was AMAZING the food was absolutely gorgeous! To be fair it was probably one of the nicest full English breakfasts I even had to ‚Äúreluctantly‚ÄĚ share it with my 2 year old who polished his jam toast off in about 2mins flat ÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹ we will be back!!!!! Highly recommended!

User

I had a gorgeous brunch this morning. We are family of varying dietary needs and they provided everything perfectly. The GF bread is AMAZING! I wish I could buy it.

User

Had a lovely day picking our own strawberries! We got a lot and they were very tasty... kids had a ride on the tractor. Lovely day out. Highly recommend.... we tried to go Kenyon hall but they’ve already got no strawberries left. So was made up to find this place... will defiantly be coming every year for our fruits.

User

Dearest Claremont, I really like the food and atmosphere of the farm shop. Every time I go I have a scrummy breakfast or a delectable cake or do Yoga with Bendy Wendy. We are very local and most of Spital use the cafe as a meeting and eating place. Thank you for the caring service. Much appreciated

User

Afternoon tea for two -

We enjoyed the most wonderful afternoon tea today at Claremont Farm. As a vegan it can be hard to find places which offer an array of options whereas the choice today was outstanding. From the ‚Äėburger‚Äô to the scone, everything was delicious and so well thought out - no compromise on taste whatsoever. I had high hopes after doing the vegan cookery course at the farm a few months back but today surpassed my expectations. It was some of the best vegan food I‚Äôve had since becoming vegan!

My husband had the normal selection on offer which he was equally as pleased with. The staff were accommodating and welcoming and the new upstairs area offered beautiful views across the farm. I can‚Äôt recommend Claremont enough - well done team! ÔŅĹÔŅĹ

User

A lovely venue with a great community presence. I‚Äôve eaten here a few times and this mornings complimentary breakfast was of a huge standard, delicious! Thank you very much ÔŅĹ

User

Lovely fresh sandwiches ..nice staff service can be a little slow but who's in a hurry ÔŅĹ

User

If it wasn't for the failure of staff to recognise your arrival, not say hello and keep you waiting at the till without even registering you exist, this place would be lovely. After waiting all I got was'table number? ' Perhaps I've just been unlucky, depends who you get. The food is nice and it's a good atmosphere/setting.

User

A bit disappointing yesterday . Although it was very busy ..and company great . The menu said eggs with asparagus and bread . Asparagus and hollandaise sauce very tasty .. however 1 very small egg and dry bread. No butter . £8 a bit expensive for what was served .

User

Terrible experience at Claremont Farm today. I have come many times and really enjoyed the food but I‚Äôve noticed that it has started to go dramatically downhill. The food that we were served with today was incorrect to what we ordered despite me repeating the order with the member of staff at the till. The piece of toast that came with the meal was about half the size of a standard piece of toast whereas we‚Äôve previously been served two or at least one large slice which meets standard expectations. So we still felt hungry after the breakfast. The usual flavoursome nature of the food just wasn‚Äôt there today and looked plonked on the plate. Our drinks did not arrive until after we‚Äôd finished the breakfast and we had to prompt staff on two occasions to attain our drinks. Due to the tiny portion size of the breakfast I tried to order some more toast or a pastry which I wasn‚Äôt allowed to do because it was after 1130. So we ordered a scone which again took an eternity to arrive. I asked two further members of staff about the scone to which I was responded to with a ‚Äúthere is a delay, it will come out when it is ready‚ÄĚ. We felt this was very unhelpful and not acceptable given the amount of time we had been waiting. The members of staff did not even offer to see where our order was up to or even apologise. Their attitudes reflected extremely poor job integrity and it was very clear they just didn‚Äôt want to be there. It is extremely rare for me to write a review in any case but I felt compelled to write this as we were so disappointed in both the food and the staff. We hope by writing this that the comments are taken seriously on board as Claremont farm is an asset to the Wirral I‚Äôd hate to see the business suffer.
