The race will be passing along the A593 (the site entrance road) between 11:00 and 13:00 on 7 September, which means the A593 will be closed to all vehicles and unfortunately no vehicles will be allowed to arrive or depart from the site during this time.

What a wonderful site this is. Caravans parked in wooded areas not open fields like other places. Can’t recommend highly enough

User

What a lovely site where you had your own bit of space and didn't feel crowded. There are also lots of walks and of course the lake.

User

We have just returned from a weeks stay here. We received a lovely friendly welcome, no waiting and 2 keys for the shower blocks!! We were given an idea of the pitches available location of shower blocks and quieter areas which was very helpful. The site is definitely the largest and prettiest we've stayed on. Be prepared for a degree of levelling. Some pitches looked a bit tricky for larger setups and we saw a few caravans struggle! You're really left to choose your pitch and I set off looking on foot while my husband filled our fresh water. We opted for 195 under a tree with plenty of space for our motor home and awning. This is a woodland area and if you like full sun you'll struggle here but we loved it! Recommend- pie and peas van (also do fish n chips and Cumberland sausage) visited Tuesday Friday and Saturday! Walking into coniston via the old railway road you'll come across the Station pub lovely and friendly serving great food. Also the Sun in coniston is highly recommended. Pick up a discount voucher from information or reception for the coniston boat trip. Enjoy!

User

Probably the largest site we have stayed on but due to its layout it feels like the most intimate as you can rarely see more than 6 other vans due to the vast forest throughout....facilities are great and never far away. A short walk takes you into coniston and the boating area. Looking forwards to our trip on the Coniston Gondola. Recommended.

User

Nice quiet park a bit out of the way but plenty of nice walks round about the staff are all very nice and helpful would defiantly come back here again

User

Massive site but set out in such a way it's impossible to imagine it's any bigger than the small open glades you find yourself in.

All three toilet blocks are spotless and within easy reach where ever you are pitched.

Service points - including elsan - are plentiful and very easily accessable.

Close enough to walk and enjoy lake Coniston - so don't even need to move the car til it's time for home.

Let's not forget the people who keep this beautiful site in tip top condition - the lovely, friendly and very helpful wardens.

Thank you all of you xx

Will definately return here.

User

Lovely site. Lots of people here but it is really quiet. Pitches are huge. Next time we will park up at the bottom so less hill walking back to the van. Lovely walk into Coniston for the museum and pub lunch. Very dog friendly. Boat ride on the lake too.

User

Lovely site with lots of pitches in the trees. Some are on steep slopes so caravan levelling ramps a definite requirement. Staff very welcoming and helpful. The toilets and amenities are clean and well looked after. Stayed in the lower part of the site near to lake... only a short walk away. Lots of walks to do near at hand and cycling routes. Will definitely be back!!!

User

Just spent three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed the stay, even though it’s low season it did not detract from the first class facilities offered, the bottom half of the huge site was closed off to vehicles but still accessible on foot, if your lucky as we were you can bump in small deer in the lower areas!

Wardens were friendly and provided me with some good local info.....an enjoyable stay for us...we will return.

User

Have stayed here before, lovely site in the woods, a really rambling site, so plenty of choice as to where to pitch. Down side is no area for off lead walk with dogs but plenty off walks out from the site and good access to Coniston lake from the site. Recommend old man Coniston if you like a good climb and plenty of flat walks if climbing is not your thing. Back to the site, always clean and tidy and good facilities. Walking distance pubs, on site small shop and a small Co-op in Coniston 5 min drive. Highly recommend this site, will definitely return.

User

Great location with great pitches to choose from, many hidden in little pockets with lots of beautiful trees around. Plenty of quite areas or child friendly areas. Some of the pitches are quite a way from the shower block so ask reception for the best pitches if you need to be close to the toilet and shower block. Lovely cycle and footpath along the lake from the site into Coniston village and to Torver. A great site and well looked after as all CAMC are.

User

Friendly staff and nice location. Access roads on approach to site can be a little tight, but once pitched up its well worth it.!

User

Fab bank holiday weekend here. Lovely site, big but doesn't feel like it is the way the vans are set out. Plenty of toilet/shower facilities that are spotless. We parked at the bottom end near the playground which my boys enjoyed. There is a path from the bottom down to the lake and you can carry on into coniston. On site fish n chip van but it was very expensive an not that nice. Nice place for cycling and canoing

User

Amazing staff!! Was made to feel very welcome by the staff from the minute we checked in. I am always very conscious about our size as we use a large van to tow and have a twin axle caravan. The staff advised us of the pitches that would be best for us and when we were levelling up one even offered to help! We will defiantly visit again!!

User

Park is lovely and shower blocks/toilets are immaculately clean. Staff welcoming and helpful. My only bug bear is having to pay for wifi if you go to any other parks it is free. If wifi was free it would definitely been a 5 star

User

Lovely site with clean showers and a great walk to coniston. Fish and chip wagon 3 nights a week. The walks around the site are glorious. We love the 25.00 per year WiFi charge through the club great value as we alwAys use the caravan club sites

User

Just back from a great few days at Park Coppice. We had been here years ago in the autumn and enjoyed the woodland setting. Since then I think it must have expanded pitch wise significantly as we don’t remember it being quite as extensive. Arrived there and received a warm welcome by the wardens who were most helpful. Decided to park the van safely and walk around part of the site to choose our pitch electing for a quieter area.

This is a lovely site, very convenient with great pubs and restaurants a short drive away and we will definitely be coming back but probably out of high season. As mentioned in the handbook the final approach roads from either north or south direction can be a challenge and I was not looking forward to the return journey in case of meeting a fellow caravanner, tractor etc. We left early to avoid this. The early unusual arrival time of 10.00am allowed on the site doesn’t really help matters much here I’m afraid.

User

We came for a 2 night stay in the new pods , on the website it leads you to believe that it's out by the lake by itself so you have peace and quiet, not true. £200 for 2 nights stay which is extortinaite (the pod itself was lovely, can't fault that) and the staff were a bit rude and short. They had a chippy van on Tuesday night and the fella working on it was rude and had a disgusting attitude to myself and my partner.

On arrival we were also made to pay a £20 deposit for the keys, which was fine, but to be made aware of it before hand would have been nice.

User

Nice location but a nightmare to get to if you have an RV so we won't be coming back here again for that reason. However the sight is good but, for us, everyone is too close together and packed in, clearly every available space has been used to create a pitch. It's also (generally) very shaded and most pitches aren't in any way level. Finally, if you love pitching your awning on concrete then this is the site for you as you'll need your strongest steel pegs and a meaty club hammer to pitch anything on this ground!!
