Crosby Riding For The Disabled Association Description

Crosby RDA was founded in 1974 and is a charity which provides horse-riding therapy solely for those with disabilities. No matter what the disability is and no matter what their age, everyone is welcome to have the opportunity to learn, grow and achieve with us here at Crosby RDA.

Crosby RDA is an entirely charity run organisation that is able to keep running due to donations and the fundraising work done by our volunteers. Any support people can give is very much appreciated. If you think you can do a coffee morning, a stall at an event, even send in unused gifts, bottles, and items for stalls at our open days etc. that would be fantastic, please send us an email if you think yo can help in any way to: events. crosbyrda@hotmail. co. uk

Sue and Geoff are actually leaving Crosby RDA to start a new chapter in Clwyd north wales. As you can see it was a great turn out last night as we said our goodbyes, Sue is hoping that lots of friends past and present will visit her and Geoff whenever we all can. Sues new address and phone number will be on the notice board in the pavilion. Sue is not retiring from horses completely she will be volunteering with Clwyd Special Riding Centre so some of our riders and volunteers will still see her on a regular basis πŸ΄πŸ΄πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜thanks Sue for everything you have done for our group xx

We had a wonderful day there yesterday at the open day. Weather fantastic lots to do and see. Very friendly, helpful people and a great day for selling our wonderful ice cream. We sold out and sadly left some people very disappointed. Looking forward to going back for the Christmas Fayre.

Our daughter Ellie looks forward to her sessions here - she loves the horses and the riding - but even more she loves the helpers who give up their time and energy to make this a great experience . With Crosby Rda she has been able to participate in open days , regionals and national competitions - wonderful opportunities not available to her in mainstream activities

We are proud to be involved !

Ive worked for the riding for the disabled in the past when I was 17 when I was doing 2 weeks work experience and when I done my 2 weeks work experience I've learned a lot about how to put a saddle on the horses brushing the the horses in the correctly and also I made sure that the children where sitting on the horses safely and I was walking beside the horse also the staff are so totally friendly and they make you feel welcome

User

It's really inspiring what they do and if you don't understand they don't shout and tell you your wrong instead they help you and focus on what you can do rather than what you can't full of really nice people aswel

Crosby RDA has made such a difference in our family life. Our son is autistic and benefits so much from riding here. My daughter volunteers helping the riders and caring for the horses. Her confidence has grown massively. The gang at RDA are a special team of volunteers and should be proud of what they achieve as a charity for their riders.
