Crossfit Altrincham Description

CrossFit Altrincham.
Monday to Friday CFA has 7 CrossFit classes each day. Each class will include a skill element and a Work Out of the Day (WOD) which are programmed around weight lifting, gymnastics and aerobic exercises.

All new CrossFit members must take part in a 'Fundamentals' class on a Saturday 11. 00-12. 00 before taking part in the classes or coming along for the Open Gym sessions.

1. How long have you been a member with CFA? Nearly 4 years. A concerningly long amount of time when there has been so little improvement
... 2. What has made you stay with us? The people, the coaches and my fellow Crossfitters who I look forward to seeing when I go, and because of these relationships I get as much enjoyment in their achievements as I do my own
3. Which coach has the most ridiculous taste in music? Ryan’s music preference cannot, in my view be described as “taste”, just angry noise - does this make me sound like a nanna?
4. What should the music be? My conditioning club playlist of 182 epic tunes obviously
5. What's your favourite benchmark CrossFit workout? Cindy or Fran
6. What goals are you aiming towards in CrossFit and how are we helping you? I need to get my lazy ass (underactive glutes) sorted as they are stifling too much progress now. The coaches have been great in giving me tips on what I need to do so sort this out, just on me now to do it.
7. Who's your nemesis in the gym? Rep cutters. I quietly plot to expose your lies
8. What did you want to be when you grow up? An archaeologist. I used to write stories about me being a famous archaeologist discovering cool and valuable artefacts. What a nerd!
9. Get rid of one - Gin or wine. Which is it? I’d ditch the gin over wine anytime. Wine is my one true love
10. What's your favourite thing about CrossFit? This is hard to capture succinctly. See 2 above but also, for a small time in the day, I feel supported to be my very best me I can be on that day and every little achievement is something that is shared and celebrated. This comes down to the community and camaraderie that has been built and fostered by the coaches and the members and it just makes me feel happy
11. What's the most frustrating bit? Double unders and my wandering arms. I’m like a pervy mr tickle - they go everywhere other than where they should be
12. Pizza or kebab? I’ve never had a kebab, so it would have to be pizza

Movement pattern Monday. The kettlebell snatch.
Kettlebell starts between the feet. Stance is shoulder width with feet turned out slightly.
Turn your lifting hand so the thumb points behind you and grip the kettlebell.
... Keeping your back flat, drive through the heels keeping the kettlebell close to your body throughout the move.
At hip extension, shrug upwards and then lead with the elbow. Movement finishes at lockout with the kettlebell above your midline.
