Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park - Oxford

This is our 3rd visit, we were upgraded to an executive room which was fabulous, room was very spacious, huge bed and amazing bathroom. Fantastic location for chipping Norton ( great range of bars & restaurants) Bicester village ( very happy with my many purchases today !!) Blenheim palace & Woodstock village is also close by & well worth a visit. Breakfast at the hotel is very good quality and plentiful. Restaurant is very eclectic, and reasonable. Only downside is you can feel a little rushed... Tip, don't order your main until you've eaten your starter, staff are perhaps a little too efficient ( if that's even a thing). Beautiful grounds to walk. It's a real treat. We will be back.

Staff are amazing, the reception guy called Pedro assisted helping me change rooms, very well mannered! service is exceptional

The place is stunning u could get lost walking around the grounds picture country side, with facilities for everyone. Definitely come back

User

Really nice stay, originally only booked for Saturday night & ended up staying Sunday night too due to being snowed in! No one was going anywhere Sunday morning. Can't fault the staff as they were so accommodating for all the guests. All in all we all had a great weekend. Thanks to all the staff

User

Lovely hotel great location no fault with the staff only one problem the wing I was in no heating

User

Loved our little stop here. We didn’t use all the facilities however the hotel was clean. The staff were friendly. And the room was gorgeous: super king bed in a standard room.

User

Just returned from a surprise weekend here for my birthday by my fiance. Stunning place, beautiful grounds. Friendly staff that could not do enough for us. Room was lovely, breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Bar and Restaurant lovely. We had a lovely meal and complimentary champagne with strawberries lovely touch A few local country pubs nearby...we visited Oxford for a few hours only 20 mins away.

User

Had a fabulous weekend here with my husband and our 2 young daughters. Room was beautiful and very clean. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and breakfast was delicious. Only gripe is that mattress protectors needed cleaning or replacing. Gorgeous hotel and resort and hope to come back one day

User

Absolutely amazing place! Staff were on point! Cleanliness & attention to details were perfect!

User

Was at hotel on business with a group of Asian tourists, fantastic location and a stunning drive along the road to hotel my clients on the coach saw a couple of deer which pleased them. Staff were great and so attentive especially the lady in restaurant who enquirer where we were off too very pleasant. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend to fellow coach drivers if visiting around Blenheim and Oxford

User

Hotel was lovely and staff very friendly and helpful however if you want decent food then the breakfast is the only thing they got right. Christmas lunch was disgusting and there was little to no atmosphere. Not the Christmas experience we were hoping for for the money it cost. Generally just disappointed

User

Hotel resturant staff went above and beyond and food was brilliant. Hotel room is lovely. Went to book spa treatments only to be told due to groupon vouchers they couldnt fit us in for treatments we required.even though we emailed in advance requiring about booking treatments and got no reply. When complained at reception they told us to try near by hotel cotswold spa and golf hotel. Believe me cotswold spa and golf hotel went above and beyond to accommodate us. We also had lunch in there bar and staff were lovely. So much so thet we have booked more treatments for tomorrow also. If we return to this area again would definitely be booking in that hotel.

User

The Hotel staff were very helpful and made an effort to look after us during a friends celebrations.

We booked a spa package which was not so impressive. The treatment itself was good, but the facilities are lacking for a spa, the F&B available during the day at the Spa were very disappointing and don’t cater for dietary requirements!! When we asked if something could be arranged to perhaps help us accommodate health related dietary requirements, it was clear that there was no way staff were putting themselves out!! Given we were planning to spend the day at the spa, we had to get dressed and go back to the Hotel to get food. I would expect MUCH better customer service from a Crowne Plaza even if the Spa is a franchise. Which was the excuse given by the Assistant Manager! Working in the hospitality industry, I would have expected much more and it lets the Hotel down!

In reverse, at the Hotel, we had a member of our group fall ill and the restaurant staff were very considerate and helpful when asked. They also accommodated requests to help with our friends celebrations and to adapt and cater for two in the party with essential dietary requirements.

Just the poor attitude and lack of consideration at the Spa that was disappointing and brings the overall experience down!

The approach road does need some serious attention, dodging pot holes and cones in the road is not ideal!

User

Fantastic food, lovely venue however I am in talks with the manager - terrible communication between staff. Waited over 45minutes to be asked for our order at dinner, woken at 3am to drunken people as we were placed too near the bar, arrived to have none of the spa stuff organised in our private room & the wonderful spa girl had to sort it all out. Took over 2 weeks for someone to take my call and pay the bill, kept being put through to different people. Lacking in communication. Left doesn't know what right is doing. Sad as such a great venue.

User

Everyone has different experiences and rates on their visit I guess. Gardens amazing, swimming pool in separate building far from our room in the new building, rooms lovely and clean and well equipped, but food and drinks expensive and event and breakfast serving staff surly and communication difficult when trying to resolve issues. Won't be returning. Better hotels in Oxfordshire for that money.

We stayed here for a quick business stop over on our journey to London. We checked in at 8.30pm and ate dinner at 9.15pm (staff clearly not happy at the time we came to the restaurant) we ordered bread and starters of which the starters came out before the bread? Plates were so hot you couldn’t touch them clearly from the microwave, my partner refused to eat his main of lamb as it was so awful and shared my duck. By 8am the next morning we were being violently sick tagging each other in for the bathroom. Drifting in and out of consciousness reception called to tell us we were due to check out at 12pm to which I asked for an extension the answer was unless you are a gold customer then you can have 30 minuets (I am a rewards customer but not of a gold level) I then hung up to be sick again and having fallen asleep they called again at 2pm to tell me they were charging us £190 for not checking out on time completely delirious I said that was fine and asked for water... no water came. I then called and asked for paracetamol and water to be told “if you are that sick call 111 maybe they will give you some” by 8.30pm our parents were so worried they called and asked for a doctor to be sent to our room the hotel agreed he came and wrote things down and told us to keep taking on fluids and that he would send some fresh water again no water came. The only way we received water throughout our stay was if we paid a £5 tray charge. We finally stopped being sick 14 hours later. The next day an hour before we checked out I asked to see the hotel manager apparently she was too busy and an hours notice was not enough. So instead they sent who I thought to be the doctor... he was actually the bar manager, safe to say I was mortified. He offered no apology and no compensation (which I would not of been accepting and made that very clear by paying my bill in full before I see him) we were treated like we were in it for a free meal. As we were leaving I was hoping they would offer us some cold water for our 5 hour journey home... maybe not. I have now put in complaints with head office, environmental agency and I’m not done there. Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the dressing gown covered in human faeces that was hanging up like it was freshly cleaned for us to use. Safe to say I won’t be staying at any crown plaza again which is such a shame as they were our go to hotel. Never feel the need to leave reviews but this definitely deserved one.

User

Very disappointing new year. Kids running around, people dressed in jeans, food very ordinary. Music far to loud and wrong music. Not classy at all. Ended up in room before midnight . Serves me right for booking with a chain. Spent a lot of money to have a special night with my wife. This was false advertising and not worth the money. I will be writing a letter of complaint tomorrow.

User

This is not a hotel, but dirty miserable hole in the middle of military zone. Hey, Heythrop thiefs, you have stolen the medical items I purchased for my mother and were delivered on 20.06. at 10;55 am. FIROKA, kiss my bulgarian a**!

User

I stupidly bought a 2 person spa day, treatment with lunch and prosecco through Groupon for my mother and sister in law as a gift to say thank you for their help with mine and my husbands wedding,. Only when they got there they had messaged me saying they thought I had been ripped off. Non of it was anywhere near the actual Manor! It was in a shabby building and the lunch was in some random cafeteria looking room. Spa? There was no spa! It had a leisure centre looking swimming pool overcrowded with kids! It’s all completely separate to Haythrop manor and a complete failed advertisement! Absolutely livid! Not the luxury spa they advertise. When I called the manager he tried to tell me that this building is not ugly and tried to make it sound acceptable! He couldn’t even ask me for my email address he passed the phone to someone else. I will be making a formal complaint and I WILL get a full refund!

User

Before going there ask hotel manager about the ongoing military training in Heythrop park. Ask if there is storehouse full of explosives. Soldiers and rebels from Lydia, ,Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan learn to drive planes and to work with explosives and no sign to inform the hotel guests about that. I was massage therapist there in the dirty, miserable hole called spa. When I started asking question about mine and public safety, they kicked me out. They changed my door look in my. accommodation and checked my room in my absence which is fascism. I uploaded photos of this dirty, old miserable pigsty called FIROKA employee building Windrush hall. and resort director called this misconduct. Never, ever go there if you want to be in safe and comfort.

Would leave 0 stars if it were possible.

This is not a hotel, but dirty miserable hole in the middle of military zone. Hey, Heythrop thiefs, you have stolen the medical items I purchased for my mother and were delivered on 20.06. at 10;55 am. FIROKA, kiss my bulgarian a**!
