Well done to Nicole, Pam and our wonderful cast last night for their performance of Aladdin! Here are some of the photos taken by one of our volunteers during the final rehearsals. Thanks to parents and families for all their support and hope everyone comes back after the Christmas holiday 😊 Also we were very impressed that four of our seniors gave up time to come and help out with our younger groups. They were really professional and a huge help! 😍

Monday 2 December: final week of term! Our younger groups are performing their version of Aladdin. They've worked really hard with Nicole and Pam so really hoping it goes well for everyone! 6pm at Darwen Library Theatre. Donations welcome from audience :)

Tonight’s session was less aggressive 😂

Tonight we were really pleased to have a guest workshop from Kenan Ali, a professional fight director. We had a great time practicing pushing, hair pulling, slaps, stamping......it’s normally such a friendly group too!😊

Don’t forget: Seniors have stage fighting tomorrow (Monday 11 November) 7-8.30pm with Kenan Ali. Please wear clothing and footwear you can move around in. 5-8 yrs and 9-12 yrs are in rehearsals for Aladdin. Monday 11 November: normal times. Monday 18 and 25 November: rehearse together. Monday 2 December: rehearse and perform. Performance at 6pm. The younger groups are working well on Aladdin with Nicole......(well done to her and Pam-can’t wait to see it on 2 December!) and our seniors are doing extremely well with National Theatre Connections script. We did a full interactive read through. You can really start to see the characters, the potential comedy and the identification with current world issues. They relate to it and they’re treating it with a lot of sensitivity, as well as lovely spontaneity-bursting into song when called for!

National Theatre Connections #directorsweekend at National Theatre in preparation for working on The IT by #VivienneFranzmann with our seniors at Darwen Youth Theatre Story Makers . We started our local process last night at Darwen Library Theatre. The group agreed that the play is ‘weird’, but ‘interesting’. That’s a good start 😊

Monday 7 October: Normal sessions for our 5-8 year olds and 9-12 year olds with Nicole. Our senior group have another session with Jules Evans. :)
