Very family friendly. Outdoor pool and paddling pool are open when the weather is warm which the kids love. My little girl loves going to her classes with DL kids. Helen who is doing my kickstart is amazing and goes above and beyond. IŌĆÖve definitely made the right decision in joining this gym

I suppose if you have children itŌĆÖs great. If you donŌĆÖt, you should beware that itŌĆÖs like a kindergarten/ youth club. Lost some of its atmosphere since itŌĆÖs switched from Virgin. The staff are still brilliant and itŌĆÖs fantastically clean, but you just need to time your visits!

Some issues with cafe stocking need to be addressed

1. No protein bars that are marked as suitable for vegetarians.

2. The range of teas is rather more limited than advertised.

I am one of many many women who have complained about the refurbishment of the changing rooms. Hundreds of lockers, far more than would ever be needed, but only 8 hairdryers and mirrors. An insufficient number of benches too, making it hard to get changed when there are only a handful of people there. It's no good arguing that this is the David Lloyd look, it is not meeting the needs of the customers. Must have been designed by men who never use a gym, with no consultation about what women want. I get a polite email when I complain but there are no plans to improve it.

Since changing to David Lloyd the place just doesn't have the same atmosphere. Seems to be all about money making. The cafe prices are ridiculous and all the choice has gone. We're just in and out of the club now as soon as we've worked out. We use to eat there a lot but don't use the cafe at all now.

IŌĆÖve been a member for a few years and really liked it as a Virgin gym. Since the take over itŌĆÖs gone so much worse. The latest thing is just after signing up for another year of membership the outdoor pool has been made permanently ADULTS ONLY. The only reason we are members is to swim outside all year round with our 2 sons. ThereŌĆÖs been no advance warning of this, even the notice at reception says there will be adult only sessions but does not say outdoors is completely adults only. This has been done to allow a reduction in lifeguards as the outdoor pool now has no attendant. I feel it is far safer for an adult to swim with a competent child than it is for an adult to swim alone so the rule really makes no sense. If you insist on cost cutting by removing lifeguards then at least allow either a couple of hours a day at weekends and holidays, or allow parents to take responsibility for their own children after confirming that both the adult and child can swim. I also think your advertising should immediately be changed as it shows many images of children jumping into an outdoor pool, and mentions a paddling pool which they are unable to access as it it outdoors. There have been other ŌĆśimprovementsŌĆÖ made such as the redesign of the club room making it dark and uninviting and changes to the locker rooms making them far less practical and useable.

I have been a member for 16 yrs the guys and girls that work in the gym are first class. The management idea of re-refurbishing is a case of debate. There was the usual increase in fee to pay for the works carried out that have taken away the soul of the gym. I used to use the bar and restaurant but the atmosphere is not there anymore. The TV In the changing room is in a pointless position. I could go on however the gym and facilityŌĆÖs are good but they were inherited, I have never seen a manager since LloydŌĆÖs came along but would be happy to discuss my points in this review but will not hold my breath. Would I recommend the gym? I would as a gym but you pay a good fee if you only use the gym as i do and a few classes a week there is better value within a few miles.

Far too expensive! Service is usually very poor and slow. They rent out the Sports Hall to make more money! We pay the membership so it should be available for the existing members! Children canŌĆÖt use the outdoor pool now. Not much room to swim in the indoor pool when they have swimming lessons. Tennis coaches are brilliant!

as I have mentioned in previous feedback



1. The floor in the steam room doesn't slope to the drain in the floor --so pooling of the sweat and excess steam drips stay on the floor



2. The bar area seems dark ---not light airy and inviting



3. Men's changing area doesn't have enough seating during the higher volume times--the original wooden benches with hooks for hanging suff on,--- whilst not being part of the "David Lloyd image" where far more practicable than the current blue bench seats.-------The changing area has limited space in comparison with other David Lloyd's and therefore the standard "David Lloyd template" may need to be adapted taking some of the better things from previous owners and incorporating them with the to the new.



4. Some of the seating is an improvement --however some seating--- sofas by the outside windows with non movable cushions are bloody uncomfortable-------I thought the aim was to make these areas inviting and look to gain more revenue through the bar by making all these areas warm and inviting



On the plus side the eating Tables and chairs are a great improvement ---the tiling finish is of a good standard through out

Phoned up to find out about what times my teenager can use the gym and was transferred to reception. Left hanging on the line for 5 mins. Not good.

No food at David Lloyd today, unless you want to pay ┬Ż5.95 for a tiny hotdog, not even chips or salad available. Main menu off so itŌĆÖs that or nothing. Disgraceful rip off.

I have been a member at this club for more than 20 years. Lloyd have taken over and claim to have improved, I suggest they have taken the atmosphere out of the place totally.

They also have put the price up for no other reason I suggest than to rip us off and try to recoup money.

Stopped my membership and have not attended since so not abusing the system,I have been verbally threatened with a collection agency and continue to get demands for ┬Ż53.. place is a joke perhaps the alternate tact of asking how can we encourage you to stay may have been better. Must be loads of new customers out there.

Happy to stand in front of a magistrate and explain myself if I have to IŌĆÖm sure me paying in excess of ┬Ż12k over the years will be enough of an explanation.

Well your not on and you need to inform people of whatŌĆÖs happening not just leaving it on the system to book and when people complain say oh sorry ...... far from acceptable David Lloyd

Been a member for years at this gym with virgin and loved it. Re joined under David Lloyd as a Platinum member and IŌĆÖm far from impressed. Platinum members get towels from the club (so members donŌĆÖt bring them ) however at David Lloyd it seems they are incapable of letting anyone know when they run out of clean towels. First time you understand, they are busy. Second, third, forth and fifth time not so much! They should inform members when they have no towels, especially when you ring up prior and ASK FOR POOL OPENING TIMES!!! ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į wasted journey again and a VERY unhappy member!
