A Tribute to Rene Davies!! All of us here at Davies Taxis were sad to hear of the passing of one of our founders Rene Davies on the 20 July 2018. Rene and her husband Tom Davies founded Davies Taxis of Keswick in 1965 and it fast became a thriving business, popular with the local community and visitors to the town. Rene was a formidable character and undoubtedly the brains in the partnership, together they had the foresight to create a business that has gone from strength to strength over the last 53 years and all the current Members and employees of Davies Taxis will be forever grateful. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time.

Davies Taxis would like to wish our very own Keith (kebby) Mattinson a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY. We won't reveal how many years young you are but do hope that you have a fantastic day.

*M6 CLOSURE - PLEASE SHARE* The M6 is closed in both directions between Junctions 32 and 33 (as of 8.10 am on Thursday, 26 July). This is due to an HGV colliding with a bridge. The bridge has now been deemed unsafe and assessment work is continuing so the closure is likely to be in place for some time. Northbound traffic will be taken off at Junction 32 and Southbound at Junction 33. As a result, the A6 and surrounding routes are likely to be heavily congested so please consider whether you can delay your journey or avoid the area completely. We'll keep you updated throughout the day - thanks for your patience,

🙌 Celebrate Good Times - Dotty's Back!! 🙌 We're all over the moon here at Davies Taxis, as our matriarch Dot Postlethwaite returns to work in our office. You will see from her glorious colour that Dot has spent the last 5 months living in Goa and we've missed her loads.☹️ But, we're so happy, that until she abandons us for Goa again in October, Dotty will be working part time in our office over the summer again. 🤣🤣 So, if you would like to hear that voice again that most of us will never forget; why don't you phone our office tonight and say Hi!! 😅🙌😁

Before Allerdale increased the tariffs on the 1st April 2018 this is a table of all UK boroughs and their Hackney Carriage Fares based on a 2 mile journey. Allerdale after the increase will go up to £5.45 for 2 miles but still ranked at 255 with 254 Borough Council's charging more per mile for taxi fares.

CUSTOMER NOTICE. We would like to advise our customers that on the 1st April 2018,(8 years since the last increase). Allerdale Borough Council are increasing the fares and Davies Taxis will be charging as per their instructions.
