De Vere Cranage Estate held their annual Colleague & Family Fun Day on a beautiful sunny Sunday last weekend. Great fun was had by all and we also managed to raise £300 in memory of a colleague who sadly passed away recently. All proceeds raised were in memory of Sue Taberner for the Critical Care Unit at Leighton Hospital

We held our daughter's wedding here in Saturday. The whole day was fantastic. The team led by David and Rachel worked hard and made it a very special day. The food was delicious both wedding breakfast and buffet in the evening.

If anyone is looking for a wedding venue, this is definitely the place to have. Well done Cranage staff.

User

We got married here 7 years ago and they couldn’t do enough, looking forward to spending our anniversary here this weekend

User

The whole evening was impeccably organised and the service was a mixture of efficiency and focus on our needs. We have recently been to functions at Crewe Hall and the performance from Cranage is miles ahead. We will be booking our company meal for Xmas here next year, without doubt. Congratulations on a superb evening - all round. We enjoyed an overnight stay and breakfast was an extension of the service that we received the night before. Staff of note included Kirsty Morrell who was friendly and very efficient as well as the restaurant manager who was a great coordinator.

User

Reception staff very attentive and cheery personalities

Room adequate for over night stay nice bath shower etc but no flannels

Tea n coffee facilities in rooms

Dinner menu bit pricey for what it was

Buffet style breakfast excellent

Grounds are beautiful

User

Lovely venue and staff, especially Rachel and David and all their wonderful team. So many positive comments from our wedding guests.

User

It looks better in real life than on pictures. Friendly staff. Very clean and well equipped leisure . Delicious food. No idea where the negative comments are coming from.

User

Came for our 10th wedding anniversary, without the kids for a long wknd, could not fault anything. Our room was lovely, food was lovely, all staff polite, grounds were beautiful, love the hammocks, great touch. Apprehensive due to reading others reviews but it did not disappoint!!

User

Amazing hotel who offered us accommodation after a huge Cathay Pacific fail! Food was amazing and the managers and staff couldn’t be anymore helpful , Thankyou for making an awful experience a lot more bearable.

User

Absolutely fabulous hotel, luxurious room, everything in room top notch, will be staying against another De Vere hotel at next opportunity. Food restaurant very goid both at evening meal and breakfast, staff lovely.

User

Had a great overnight stay. Leisure facilities are spot on and the food was lovely (although the waiter bought my wife's soup and then said he would bring the bread over but he never came back so she went without bread). The main course also took 40 minutes to arrive after we had finished the starter which was a bit too long considering there really wasn't very many others in the dining room.

Drinks are very expensive (Over £10 for 2 pints) but then I did expect that from this sort of establishment.

Would visit again if in the area !

User

Had a fab stay last night for my partners birthday, they even went the extra mile by putting a light box in the room with Happy Birthday written on it, a card & a box of chocolates. The bedroom was nice however the hairdryer nearly blew up in my partners hand! ... the food was delicious the only thing I would say is the drinks are quite pricey, we had a beer, bottle of still water & a glass of wine for £18.75! Staff were great & we would definitely stay again

User

We had a superior room booked. The room was nice, the bed was comfy, the bathroom needed attention as was out dated and showing it's age. There was a very small caution sign for how hot the water was, but I missed it and hurt my hand. The worst thing was the prices for food and drink. £4 for a small coffee and £14 for burger and chips! If you plan to eat here add 50% to what you would reasonably pay for food of the same quality.

We drove for 4 hours to reach this hotel. We were looking forward to a relaxing 2 night stay with walks in the promised grounds.

However, on arrival there was teenagers everywhere as venue was being used for end of year prom. Only place to smoke was a tiny gazebo out front of hotel so had to battle through groups of teenagers hanging in corridors until gone 11pm.

Grounds were not as vast as advertised and took 15 mins to walk around.

Outside dining area was non smoking also.

We headed to Chester zoo on following day and chose to have evening meal in delightful little pub just down the road fromhotel where we dined outside and could enjoy a drink and smoke in peace.

On arrival back to hotel there appeared to be a party going on so again restricted to where we could go. Serve at bar was slow.

Once in our room all we could hear was chatting as other guests had to use grass area just under our windows as main outside area seemed closed off to regular hotel guests.

Breakfast following morning was ok except the long wait to be bought our coffee.

Not quite the weekend we were expecting especially for price paid.

Visiting here for a conference this weekend. Greeted first by a charming young woman at reception. Booking in was quick and easy. My room was absolutely fine and part of the more modern end of the complex. It was very similar to a Premier Inn room - clean, neat and and provided most of the facilities. Bathroom could have done with a bit of an upgrade but was clean. Blackout curtains were great and effective. The room was missing a coat hook and a luggage rack. It had been raining and I did not want to place my suitcase on the nice white linen on my bed. The evening meal was very good. I had the blade of beef and it was the vegetables that stole the show - delicious. Not overcooked but fresh and crispy. Saturday was conference day and this venue has been clearly built to cater for conferences. The only surprise was the lack of sound in both workshops in the morning and afternoon. I would have thought glitches like these would have been ironed out immediately with the experience of the conference team. I found the Internet connection in my bedroom poor. It kept switching itself off and I struggled getting the connection back on several occasions. Again as a large conference centre, this was irritating and a surprise.

Overall though, my experience was good and the staff made it so.

User

Lovely hotel in nice grounds. Leisure facilities very good, but the worst 2 nights sleep I have ever had, the beds were horrendous. Please update your mattresses I could feel every spring!!

User

Lovely building and gorgeous grounds enjoyed our stay we were there for a wedding which was lovely. The food and breakfast was very good. Our room was comfortable enough but they are very tired particularly the bathroom the door was rotting at the bottom which is obviously down to the shower screen let's water through and the floor is soaked they just need some renovating. Staff nice and helpful and friendly and good leisure facilities.

User

Have stayed in bigger and better rooms for the price. Large double bed. Mattress needs changing too soft. 4 tiny pillows for huge bed. Breakfast poor. Cold coffee had to ask for more. Excuse the coffee machine broken. Ran out of eggs. Sausages greasy and cold. Plates cold. Had bar lunch day before. Expensive tiny burger. Had better in Hilton's. Most staff really great. Witnessed the most rude barman for a while last night talking down a client and his wife over drinks that had been removed by staff in error. Then witnessed barman lying to bar manager. Very unprofessional. Barman was a small guy. Took the edge away from an enjoyable night at a charity ball. Drinks prices expensive for Cheshire. On par with city prices. Wouldn't choose to stay at this place normally but I wad at an event.

User

I know non smokers/vapours will have no sympathy. But, as a smoker, there were so many places outside, with seating, that we couldve been able to use. However, there is a tiny gazebo (across a road) in front of the building that was the only place we could go. We had to walk the length of the building, then in the rain, across a road, to get to the area. Ruined the night to be honest. For such a huge place there should be more consideration for us 'outcasts' .

User

For the price we paid for a double deluxe we was expecting more than a box of chocs and a bottle of ale. The room was two single beds pushed together and the room was crammed could barely manuvere around. The bathroom was immaculate cannot complain about housekeeping!! However the replenishment of breakfast was poor one of us got breakfast and the other had to wait as they ran out of eggs, hash browns, beans, mushrooms and white bread all at once.. a man had to keep asking for the staff to replenish these. Deeply disappointed 😢😢
