User

Very nice hotel and location. Excellent restaurant and great quality food. Needs a touch of maintenance on interiors but other than that can't fault it. Staff were all very friendly and professional. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

User

Stayed here in May 2012 & thought it looked tired & worn out then so was surprised to see it hadn’t had any improvement or re-furbishment since then & It’s like going back in time to 1980,s! Also to be asked to pay £7 for WiFi in my room when I was told at booking point over phone it was free was a little annoying. Restaurant & bar area is very poorly laid out & food very average with a pull down screen & overhead projector as a TV. Certainly won’t be going back here again 😩

User

Stayed here for 2 nights using a wowcher. Great value for money, spa facilities were good hardly anyone in so more or less had the place to ourselves. Food was good especially the breakfast plenty of choices to suit all tastes and preferences. Room was spacious although in need of a bit of a spruce up but that's just being picky. Would definitely stay again.

User

Just had an amazing, relaxing and much needed night away at this hotel. The room was gorgeous, spa was fab and the food was delicious. Thanks.

User

I l9ved my little overnight stay, enjoyed the swim, sauna and jacuzzi. Evening meal with wine was nice. All staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend a mini adventure at Daresbury Park to anybody, it was just right. Hopefully see you soon.

User

Well defo not a Devere now for sure needs tlc applying. Stayed on Groupon offer and was good value for money. Food was good although busy and people has to keep asking for food to be replenished etc. Spa wasn't best quite busy with children so small area of pool free. Steam room smells very musty indeed and not very clean Legionaires came to mind! Sorry im a nurse ! Disgraceful that you have to pay £1 to use towels I have never seen this in any hotel. We were told there would be a £10 charge for us to use spa but never charged for it which I'm glad would not have been worth it tbh for time we were in there as a group of women comanderred the jacuzzi . Shame really it was a super place when under Devere.

User

We went there for a birthday party and didn't stay in the rooms. The room for the party was clean and welcoming The food was well presented and there wasn't too much of a wait at the bar .The toilets we used we're clean and well stocked with toilet tissues and paper towels .It was an enjoyable time for us .

User

Just had a overnight stay here and have to give it 4 stars really, we had a Wowcher deal and it was excellent for the money we paid. We made full use of the Spa facilities and had an evening meal and breakfast the food being excellent and plentiful. The room was clean and very roomy but could do with sprucing up a bit. The reception staff on this morning could of been more customer friendly but overall it was a good visit and we will stay here again.

User

Lovely room very big and clean no where for the children to play inside or out !!! Tv very small only few channels no childrens menu

User

I come here twice a year with My Body Shop At Home training.

We pre ordered food that they have arranged for us (choice of sandwich and chips). Portions were small and we were all still hungry afterwards. We paid £5 for that.

The lack off communication behind the bar was unbelievable as I was stood waiting for a coffee for 20-15 minutes. The young girl serving behind the bar hasn't informed them of my order.

When the same bar lady was down stairs we asked her for directions out the hotel, she had no idea and tried sending us back up stairs.

Just glad I only attend for training as I wouldn't personally chose to come here.

User

This hotel is summed up by the amount of "out of order" signs around the place. A very tired hotel, in need of a modernisation program.

User

I had a spa day booked for my 50th birthday . The girls were lovely and the treatments was Lovley . But I think on arrival you should be shown to the changing rooms first to put belongings in a locker because after we had the treatments we had to carry our belongings down stairs in our bathrobes, I think it would be nice to be presented with a complimentary glass of sparkle , it was cold all over the building , the changing rooms from pool had 1 cubicle , no baby changing facilities in there , not that I had a baby but a lady did and she was struggling , there was hair n toilet paper over the shower n toilet area , when we went for our complimenty snack that came with the package the girls on the bar didn’t know anything about it , personally I think the spa rooms should have there own shower bathing area because the pool is open to everyone and if you want a relax you couldn’t do that with families and kids jumping in and out of the pool . Very dated and needs modernising oh and a higher sofa in the spa waiting area it was like sitting on the floor and very wobbly .

User

Worn out hotel, in the slow drawn out process of refurbishment. Bed uncomfortable and generally all very tired. Helpful staff but that’s about it, from the front it looks good, but this is a facade in more than one way. Disappointed with my stay, hotel manager very helpful and understanding. Things need to change and they are it seems but very slowly!!!

User

Totally awful place and will never return..

On arrival myself and my wife where told by a prostitute and her punter that the hotel is full so we best have a booking.

Clearly no security in place to remove this sort of rif raff.

So off to the bar we went for a night cap to only be ignored by some snotty bar maid who looked like she just hated life and wanted to go home.

I understand this as I used to be a bartender.

But the claim is simple if u don't like your job get a new one.

Then on arrival in to the room to find it had not been cleaned to a new guest standard.

Creased sheets, pubic hair in the bed and a ball of hair in the corner that looked like it was from a hair brush.

Then the bathroom was disgusting complete with a foul smell an pebble dash all over the toilet with a lovely turd in the bottom of it.

Cobwebs all over the ceiling and a dead spider in the folds of the bath towel.

At this point I had had enough to I took my complaint to reception and as it was 11.30 pm the hotel was full as the prostitute said an we could not be moved.

So Steve the night porter kindly got an elderly bloke to give our room a once over.

This was the best that could be done.

I would of drove to my mother's who lives in the next town but I had drank 2 double gin an tonics and the hotel wouldn't pay for my taxi.

So I was told to email some address with my complaint but I have yet to do so as I feel this needs to be publicly announced.

Anyway I woke up the following morning and politely went to the reception desk and asked for a manager.

I asked this manager was there somewhere we could talk more private an we went to the side of the lobby.

Here I handed him my debit card an said ill have a full refund please.

He was shocked to hear this as notes of the previous night hadn't been updated so I explained to him the reason for my asking of a refund.

He went to his manager to come back to me and offer me a 50 % refund which I declined and asked could I speak to the manager myself I was told he was in a meeting an then 10 mins later was offered a full refund.

Strange how he was in a meeting.

I was then told again could I email the nights events to the general manager who I belive is also called Martin??

To which I have also not done as I am yet to receive an apology for my night at the hotel.

To be honest the most honest person I spoke to at the hotel was the prostitute on entering the building ha

To summarise I don't think I'll be going back in a hurry it's a shame really as it used to be a lovely hotel

User

To sum this place up in 2 words....FAWLTY TOWERS. What a complete joke. Booked a double room, ended up with a twin..ok fine, could handle that.Bathroom had wires coming out of the socvkets and a sign telling you to close the door when using the facilities as could set off fire alarm!! Bar service...(not)..no beer available as was told didnt know how to change barrell. Rude and miserable restaurant staff. Wanted to order extra off main menu...'cant do that', told was happy to pay but no. Wanted red wine...havent got any, when asked 'manager' why got v aggresive and told me as a customer i was being rude and stormed off.Never ever dealt with as such a rude vile woman who certainly needs a few lessons in customer service. Am waiting for the bill in the morning as about to cancel credit card transaction :-(

User

Stayed before never had any trouble but this time not enough space to list them all.keys to rooms never worked each time had to go to reception 4 rooms same result. Food not replenished, starter option coleslaw , had to wait 20 mins for rolls then soup to top that no soup dishes. The attitude of staff was very poor. We had our own paddling pool inside our bathroom, but even a better one outside our doors in corridor reported both to reception & housekeeping. Had to mop up floor then wrap towels around the tap, still never got maintenance to look at the problems. We booked times of meals but the wait was ridiculous. As I said this is the tip of the iceberg regards problems we had.

User

Not slept all night through constant door banging all around and party in room above heard through the paper thin walls reception is not 24hour as stated they stopped answering after 9pm and the extra pillows we asked for and we're promised never arrived so our necks are now aching from the cheapest softest pillows you've ever had and 1 pillow each - no wonder it was cheap -4 star hotel never !!!!

User

Freezing cold room window broken in 106 and would not close left at 7am to travel home for a warm

User

Do not waste a penny in the spa worst massage of my life should of been an hour girl said after half an hour that's all I can do because you didn't want your front doing!!
