Deaf Life Stories - University Of Manchester, Sord Description

This is a two-year study based at the Social Research with Deaf People (SORD) group at The University of Manchester.

The project is entitled ‘Deaf life narratives in times of transition: Towards a cross-cultural instrument for life storytelling’ (DEAf Life Stories, or DEALS). It aims to enhance deaf people’s mental wellbeing through signed storytelling, employing visual and digital media. The participants are British Sign Language users, including deaf UK natives and migrants from diverse nation states who may use other signed languages as well.
