This hot weather is great for us humans☀️...not so much for your pets and livestock!
🐶 Avoid exercising dogs during the day as they can over heat 🐜 Hot weather is perfect for fleas & ticks so please make sure your pet is covered with the correct treatment 🚗 Do not leave your dog in the car as they can over heat, this is very dangerous and can be fatal... 🐰 Keep all small animals in the shade and provide a cool mat (marble tiles) and fozen bottled water to save them from over heating and also keep an eye out for flystrike 🐴 Horse owners - choose cooler turnout times, slow down the work, avoid sunburn and its also good to know the signs of heat stroke 🐄🐑🐐 Livestock owners - If possible allow them access to shaded areas, avoid transporting in hot weather (if it cant be avoided, move them during the coolest part of the day),if livestock is kept inside ensure the building is well ventilated
For all pets & livestock please make sure they always have fresh drinking water & do regular checks on them.

Today one of our staff members took their dog in to be hip & elbow score - how handsome is he 🐾😍
We take the x-rays and send them off to British Veterniery Association (BVA) where they are assessed and provide grading for the hips & elbows.

He is microchipped however the owners details have not been updated.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the lovely people and patients I have met during my work over the last 20 years. DEVERON Vets has been a massive part of my life and I have very mixed feelings as I prepare to leave . You have made it interesting and challenging, sometimes sad, sometimes brilliant, always rewarding - from the tiniest bird to the largest canine, from a simple clip nails to a complicated surgery. It has also been a privilege and enormous pleasure to work with such a superb, caring and supportive staff team. I will miss you! Donna

We have used Deveron Vets for a few years now and we can not rate them all highly enough. They are all great with my two, very vocal, GSD's and they worked wonders with my cat who went missing but returned home without a tail.

Tinkerbell was so fortunate to have had such a wonderful team looking after her, your ability to manage all her problems with the right medication and advice to us has been amazing and we are sure that it meant Tinkerbell was with us for several years more than might have been the case without such expert care.

Claire in particular has always given her best and we are so thankful for that and we are sure that Tinkerbell would also say thank you to her "nice vet lady"

I attended the macduff surgery on Monday evening and unfortunately George ( my companion for the last 12years) had to leave to go to rainbow bridge ,the process was made very respectful & a wee bit easier by Deborah?? ( clinical director I believe) my heart is breaking but felt the need to thank Deborah for all she did

Huge thanks to Claire at Deveron Vets for such a prompt visit on a Sunday to our mare who has quite a serious leg injury. Fingers crossed all will be well, and excellent bandage work. Many thanks

As one of the largest horse studs in Scotland we cannot rate Hamish and his colleagues highly enough. First class care for all our horses whether that be stallions, mares or foals. Also been great for our dogs.

Absolutely fantastic vets I has problems with my mare a few weeks before foaling and nothing was too much trouble for Hamish! He even came to my mares aid on his Sunday off to help remove her after birth both mare and foal doing well a big thankyou to Hamish! Highly recommend deveron vets!
