Me & my Husband had our wedding breakfast and reception on Saturday 23rd June at the Devonshire House Hotel.

All the staff were just amazing and went above and beyond to make our special day just perfect!

The Wedding breakfast down to the Reception was just a fantastic experience for all and made our special day run smoothly.

They will never know how much all their kindness and hospitality meant to us on our Wedding Day.

After our Wedding Reception we checked into room 402 and couldnā€™t fault our beautiful suite that we had!

Thank you again to the Team of the Devonshire House Hotel, from a very happy Mr and Mrs! Xxx

User

Amazing Motherā€™s Day! The room looks lovely!! Staff are great and food was lovely! Will definitely be coming back next year!!! Xxx

User

What a really welcoming welcome. Also ladies in bistro at breakfast couldnt do enough to help you. Room 404 was massive. Bath has spa jacuzzi. Bed on wheels was too high as im short. Lol kept moving. Will stay again.

User

This was our first mothersday spending it here at the dev and to say it was a perfect day is defo an understatement, the food was lovely, the staff were attentive and friendly especially the lady who waited on our table (table 28, think her name was maggie) entertainment was great and the room looked spectacular! Only down side to the day was the bar prices, would have been so much better if it was a doubles bar! But overall we had a fab day! Xx

User

Just want to say a massive thankyou to the Devonshire for their hospitality yesterday & last night for our charity night, nothing was too much trouble & the staff were brilliant.x

User

Just home from a stay with my son for a Premiership game. Bedroom Clean, Bathroom Clean, towels, bedding etc Staff amazingly helpful, from the receptionist's, to the cleaners, and ESPECIALLY to the 1 woman in the main Bar on Sunday night 14th Jan. She was a GEM, a typical scouser (even if she was a blue) LOL. No complaints from me. Everybody was exceptionally helpful in every way. Will DEFINITELY stay again on my next visit to Liverpool.

User

Enjoyed our 4/5 day break at the Devonshire. Thank you.

Good location, lots of parking, short drive to the city centre/Albert Dock. Hotel was clean, warm, good food, nice decor, helpful and pleasant staff. Overall good value. Would recommend and stay here again.

User

I must be honest the room was very worn & was in need of an update.

The room was always warm so we had to sleep with the window wide open (one out of two windows working).

Although the bathroom was very clean it was desperate for some maintenance, The bathroom sealing tiles where dirty it looked like damp.

Bed side lamp not working, would be nice to have a small fridge in the room.

There was a rip in the carpet approx 4/5 inch.

Tv needed to be rescaned as not all channels was available, scuff marks on the wall.

Wardrobes and chest of draws need to be replaced as they looked well loved.

OUTSIDE front garden looked lovely and well looked after in till you stared walking around the paths and you saw alot off mess, out the back their was rubble dumped and also a used mattress.. Could do with a new paint job on the building..

Apart from all that staff where helpfull, friendly and welcoming, I may come back soon!

User

Very dated hotel and needs some TLC. The grounds look impressive when you arrive but that's all that's nice about the place. My room was big and looked like it had been updated. There were no curtains just blinds and some of them were missing. Chipped wash basin and bath. Worn carpets. Not good at all. It could be beautiful if you spent money doing it all up. Dinner menu was Ltd and the food wasn't nice. Breakfast was also bad. Help yourself buffet but tasted horrible. I wouldn't recommend it I'm sorry to say.

User

What am I Actually paying Ā£126 for?? The room looks more like an office with a bed in it, no curtains, plaster hanging off the ceiling, more mould than i care to share a bathroom with, tiles missing from the bathroom floor. Doesn't deserve the one star but as it's the lowest you can vote then unfortunately that's what it has to be.

User

We arrived on Friday 30th March in the afternoon after travelling eight hours to get there. After 1 flush of the toilet, the toilet handle had broken off! We had made reception aware but maintenance had already gone home so they said they would send someone round on Saturday. I had accepted this and went to bed.

We went out early Saturday morning and had expected to come back to a working toilet. When I got back I discovered that that was not the case, I reported it again to reception and somebody had come round within half hour to inspect the situation. They had decided we needed to change rooms, as the toilet was not repairable. It was at this point we had not had a toilet for half of our stay here.

When initially booking the hotel, I had requested a first floor room due to having a respiratory condition and had an oxygen concentrator with me, but I was moved to a third floor room that much smaller but I wasn't going to complain about that... until I went into the bathroom and discovered that there was mould all over the ceiling. I went to speak to a receptionist who offered me two drinks vouchers for the inconvenience of being moved rooms, I had declined this and instead asked to speak to the manager. I was given an email address as he was not available all weekend.

An email was sent and we left the hotel on Monday 2nd April in the morning with no further issues. Since then I have had to phone the hotel a further 3 times before even managing to speak to the manager in regards to this issue. In nearly two weeks he wasn't able to respond to an email or make a phone call.

When I managed to speak to the manager he was very indecisive and very defensive. I had only asked for a partial refund as I had spent Ā£260 for four days at the hotel, half of which we didn't have a toilet!

When I had mentioned the mould he had told me that it was water that had dripped down from the room above, when I told him that we were on the top floor, he immediately back tracked and said either way it wasn't mould and that I was wrong.

When I had mentioned about the toilet he said that point was invalid because we had eventually moved rooms so that issue was solved. Except it wasn't, because they moved a woman with cystic fibrosis, who requires extra oxygen, to a top floor room with mould in the bathroom. The mould wasn't just on the ceiling it was also around the shower plate as well, but that is to be expected.

I was told by the manager that my complaints warranted no compensation and he felt they were solved. He was very harsh and brash, he made me feel like I wasn't being listened too.

I know for a fact I wasn't the only customer there that had complaints that weekend, an elderly gentleman had complained that his room smelled like smoke for the one night he was there.

The two ladies on reception and the gentleman from maintenance were absolutely lovely that weekend. I could not fault them and they did everything they could to help. I am instead unhappy at the post-sales customer service from the manager himself. He was very hard to get hold off and even then not a pleasure to deal with. Despite the loveliness of the staff, because of how my situation was dealt with, I will not be staying here again. Nor will I be recommending anyone else stay.

User

Overpriced rundown hotel. Paper thin walls you can hear the people in adjoining rooms talking or snoring. No hot water in the morning to get a shower no curtains on the windows , decor drab and dirty. Breakfast Ā£9.95 overpriced . Get better rooms and better breakfast at a premier inn for less money. Had it not been for the wedding party we were at we would not have stayed in this hotel. Staff pleasant and helpful but hotel is past its best. Needs major refurb and soundproofing will not be using this hotel againšŸ˜©šŸ˜©šŸ˜©šŸ˜©

User

I can't believe you have just sent us a brochure for Christmas dinner this year when you totally ignored our complaints about the one we had last year ļæ½ļæ½

Sorry but your customer service is abysmal ļæ½

User

Had looked forward to this night for months, as we attended last year and thought it was such a good night. Totally agree with other reviews. The food was disgusting, frozen roast potatoes and veg that resembled baby food. (Bit of a change from the lovely carvery last year) Still had our dinner plates on the table after 10pm and nobody had asked us about dessert. It seems you have tried to squeeze as many people as possible in causing chaos on the night, the waiting staff couldnt move to serve food. Also the way the bar staff were speaking to customers was absolutely shocking! And I dont understand that at an all inclusive bar that we have paid Ā£65 each for, why when asking for a neat whisky to have with your xmas dinner were told you have GOT to have a mixer??? Just dont understand this at all. Such a shame because like I said we attended last year and I would have given 5* as everything was just lovely last year.

User

After having a round of watered down drinks to start, we asked the bar maid for a TiaMaria with a small amount of ginger ale and was told by the bar manager that we wasnā€™t allowed drinks like this. She told us we needed to have the full amount of ginger ale to fill a half pint glass.

This is why we believe they wanted to give us a lot of mixer to try and disguise the weak spirits.

To add insult to injury we where then served food on cold plates. Four of our party who turned up late due to bad weather and snow causing heavy traffic where told they where unable to eat as they had ran out of food now. This is surprising as you would of thought a venue like this would take into consideration delays like this when advertising Christmas time events.

After asking the catering manager Lee if this could be resolved, we where then given a plate of chips to share and he was going to investigate why they run out of the Chinese buffet. We never seen him after that.

After paying over Ā£700 for what was supposed to be a team building night and Christmas celebration in all we had four people who never ate and one person who could not drink.

I am speaking on behalf of very disgruntled group of people who will never use this establishment ever again and would never recommend this venue to anyone!

User

Sorry but your customer service is abysmal ļæ½
