A Manchester Institution, Dimitri's Bar & Taverna is a beloved eatery that has prevailed for the last 25 years in the city centre & now in Didsbury.
Dimitri'S Manchester Description
Much like the Acropolis in Athens, Dimitri’s Bar Taverna – now serving the good people of Manchester for more than 25 years – is a venue that must be visited when in Manchester’s City Centre.
Dimitri was inspired to open his restaurant when his uncle took him to his first Greek Meze bar as a youngster and he was served up several small courses. For Dimitri there is nothing better than a glass of wine and a variety of dishes to get a taste of everything. Consequently our approach is more country kitchen than haute cuisine and we pride ourselves on this fact. As a result Dimitri’s is authentic, fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. This Mediterranean kitchen is chock full of characters every bit as colourful as the Mezes they lovingly prepare.
Dimitri’s menu features full meals as well but is most famous for its platters and mezes that include the Mega Meze, which is a banquet of dishes that goes on forever and ever and ever….

We arrived late after the theatre and the very helpful waiter said he would keep the kitchen open so we could have food- it was wonderful food and a lovely relaxing environment- loved it !
The food was lovely. The service was very good.Staff were attentive and friendly. Really nice place to have a family meal.

Lovely restaurant on Deansgate. Delicious fresh food and amazing sangria. We had a selection of Meze including vegetarian, meat and fish options. All were super delicious and piping hot and washed down with a big glug of wonderful sangria
Loved the service and food especially the outside eating area.me and my partner really enjoy coming here as treated well and a brilliant atmosphere in the place.foods delicious!! Lovely staff,friendly and warm.well done.we will be back soon again.favorite place to eat in manchester
Great service, prompt with both drinks and food order. Everything we ordered was delicious, they even parcelled up the food we couldn't finish.
This was one of many visits to Dimitris, definitely a family favourite. Can't wait for the next time

Excellent all round. Great food, great dining area, will definitely be back. Had eight plates of tapas (between four!!) every plate of food was delicious. Service was first class.
An excellent meal, delicious food that was quickly produced and reasonable priced. The servers were attentive and friendly.
Amazing food, service and surroundings x will definitely be back and soon x Thankyou. X
Dimitris bar was a nice little friendly place. The food was tasty. The outside court yard dinning area was the best part.
Haven’t been her for lots of years had memories of a great restuarant . Visited this weekend and was disappointed with portion sizes and the prresentation tapas and attention to detail.
Food was decent (not exceptional but no real complaints ), service was good.
However watch out for the sting at the end of the meal when they ask if you would like a lemon cello , mistakenly we assumed complimentary.....they then charged £3.45 each! Not value for money in my opinion.
Poor table service. Long wait for drinks and food, when the food finally arrived it was cold! Very rude manager that decided to raise he's voice to me when I raised the issue. Emailed to complain and might as well have not bothered. Would not recommend this place at all!
