The tots have had lots of fun exploring in the paint today they used brushes, rollers and dish washing brushes to make different marks...the older tots chose their paint from a selection and asked for "more" when the paint was running out. Afterwards they splashed in the bath to ensure that they was nice and clean helping with health and self care skills :)

Ducklings Day Nursery in Hoylake having a fabulous time in the frozen yogurt bar x

User

The children really enjoyed a lovely treat out to the Yog bar this afternoon. They were allowed to choose any toppings and chose to have strawberries, raspberries and pineapple. Everyone commented how well behaved the children where.

We went and hid our rocks this morning and whilst out found a rock somebody else had decorated and some blank rocks ready to decorate

User

What fabulous team work as the children colour in their rock.

User

We have decorated our first rocks ready to hide this morning. The children are so excited to see where they go on their adventures ☺️ we are still asking for plain rocks to decorate so if you find any on your travels please pop them in. Thank you

User

So whilst out and about at the weekend walking the dogs I found some ‘Wirral rocks’ I was unsure what it was all about so looked it up. For those like me who have not heard about it, people paint rocks and hide them around the Wirral for others to find and re hide. This gave me a lightbulb moment! so we are starting to collect rocks/pebbles like the one below and letting the children decorate them, we will then add the Ducklings logo and go and hide them. You can follow the rocks on Facebook just search Wirral rocks and join the group. So if you are out and about please collect rocks and pebbles for us to decorate, We have collected 6 to start us off. I wonder how far our rocks will travel!??

Another fabulous morning out, we where in Queen’s Park by 9.30 and had so much fun. The children really enjoy our little trips out and about.

User

Fantastic photos of our children in our Hoylake nursery x

User

We where at the beach by 9.30 this morning just early enough so we could enjoy it with out it being to hot. The children had a wonderful time making sand castles, parachute games, bat and balls and we even tried to fly a kite.

Sports day ⚽️🏓🏏🎾🥇🥈🥉 Unfortunately, due to the increasing temperatures and the heat wave warning in place from the met office it had been decided to postpone the sports day which was due to take place on Wednesday 2nd August. We will rearrange again for a later date in September. We are sorry if this has caused any disappointment but as you can appreciate the children’s health and well being must come first.

User

Thank you to everyone who supported our coffee morning we raised a fantastic £89 🍰☕️

User

Thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan coffee morning. We hope you all enjoy your delicious treats. We will post the grand total we raised on Monday.

Well I am a first time mum who has just returned back to work after twelve months off, my little boy Ethan has been at Ducklings for a few weeks now and he is absolutely loving it!

I was rather anxious at the thought of returning to work and leaving him with anyone else other than family members. But I can honestly say the staff here have now become part of our family.

As soon as went to look round the nursery, we knew it was the perfect setting for Ethan, with welcoming, friendly staff and a building that just feels like home the minute you walk through the front door.

Ethan has a key worker called Lucy who is so caring and fun to be around. I have been amazed at how quickly they have bonded together and it's so lovely and reassuring to see!

But I have to say one of the things I have been most impressed with is there online system called Tapestry. Each time a key activity is done, Lucy will write a detailed observation to track how he is doing against the curriculum - and upload it with a series of photos and videos. Here I can login to see Ethan getting involved (usually in messy play) and leave a comment. I have also uploaded my own videos to show how Ethan is progressing at home - helping to have a two way dialogue with the nursery. Which is so important during these early years.

For anyone who is looking for a nursery, I would highly recommend you check this one out - and you know you will be leaving your little one in a safe pair of hands!

My two children have been going to ducklings since May. I felt a little unsure about returning work with my youngest being only 16 weeks old, but once I had been to look around the nursery I knew that it was the best thing for my children. The manager Lindsey showed me around the whole nursery, it felt so cosy and homely, the staff where all so lovely as I was looking around. The staff where so reassuring and made me feel welcome. I felt comfortable leaving my children with them.

Both my children absolutely love going to nursery and enjoy spending time with the staff especially their key worker Leanne. When my children's key worker is not there I know my children feel safe and secure going to other members of staff which is also reassuring. At the end of the day I am given a daily dairy which tells me what my children have been doing throughout the day and what they have eaten.

The nursery has an online learning journey system for each child which is amazing! I am able to log on at home whenever I wish to see my children's progress, it's so reassuring and lovely to see photos and videos of my children having so much fun learning new things and joining in with a variety of different fun activities at nursery, I can also like and comment on these. I can even add my own pictures and videos from home too!!

Philip has come on so much since starting nursery and is now able to put short sentences together. He often comes home and tells me his friends names and staff names.

When I drop my children off at nursery Philip now says bye bye mummy and blows me a kiss and Eva waves to bye to me, my children are so settled here and I know when I leave they are about to have an amazing fun day learning.

Overall I highly recommend ducklings day nursery to anybody wanting the best quality of care for their children in a safe and welcoming environment.

Thank You so much to all the staff that look after my two babies , you do a wonderful job

My little boy has been going to Ducklings for just over a year now, since he was 1. He loves it! He took some time to settle in as he only goes one day a week, the staff were so patient and attentive to his needs to help him settle. He now gets excited on a Monday morning to go to nursery. All the staff are lovely and very friendly. It's such a tough decision picking a nursery, but I have no worries about my little boy when I've dropped him off for the day.

My little boy has been coming for nearly a year now & I can't praise this nursery enough!! He gets so excited when approaching nursery. And that makes me such at ease when leaving him. I feel happy when in work no'ing Archie is at the nursery as he has the best time and enjoys every single second. I love seeing him grow whilst attending the nursery. & the bond he has with the staff is very comforting. The activities Archie does & all the stuff he makes ect is just fantastic and he has come on a long way at ducklings & I thank each and every staff especially jo for being apart of my Archie's life and helping him grow!! x

My daughter started only a few months ago, nearly 4 months really. She quickly settled and loves her days at nursery. The staff are caring and really help in her development. Would recommend it to a friend for sure!

User

Lindsey is an exceptional manager! Puts the children before her own needs, never cut corners in her care for the children, always went above and beyond for each individual child. Always happy to talk to parents, will help with any queries or problems. Lindsey helped my daughter come on leaps and bounds when she started nursery Grace required special care which was always provided. Lindsey also fought for a special disabled adapted chair which she got, she also recommended grace for the radio city Childrens appeal which she also got!! Haven't got a bad word to say about Lindsey.

User

Currently have our third child in ducklings and couldn't be happier. She has only been in three days so far and loves it. She has been to a cafe for toast and was so delighted she hasn't stopped talking about it! Previously the staff there spotted and dealt with our son's learning disability in a respectful and caring way. Can not praise this place enough. Thank you
