On Saturday 30th June Durable Fitness celebrated its 3rd Official Birthday and held our Annual Awards Evening at the National Football Musuem in Manchester.
It was a great opportunity to reflect on the amazing progress made by all our members, and also a chance to let our hair down a little bit.
All the nominees from each category were deserved an award, but unfortunately there could only be one winner (expect for where there were two).

The weeks seem to be flying by for our 6 week biggest loser challengers and we have now completed Week 4.
Here are some awesome stats:
> Last week the group lost a total of 43.8lbs
... > This brings their total loss since the start of the challenge to 207lbs (this is incredible)

I can’t believe we are already over half way through the 6 Week Biggest Loser Challenge which started in May. The difference in the challengers already is unbelievable, it has been great working with such a motivated bunch of people who have smashed every session, become generally more active and made some really positive changes to their diet.
Last week also marked a real turning point for some of the people who had struggled a little bit in the first couple of weeks and the...ir new found confidence has been amazing to witness.
We also managed to convince some of our new Biggest Losers to join some of our regular members for their first ParkRun at Heaton Park. Obviously, they all did amazing.
The results at the end of Week 3 speak for themselves; the total loss for our new group of challengers currently stands at 163.8lbs, which is an average of 5lbs. With 3 weeks left to go, it’s exciting to think what could be achieved.

Wow, the first week of our 34 new Biggest Loser Challengers is already over and what an incredible week it was.
The first week is always a difficult one as not only are they focusing on their diet but they are having to adjust to training at our Boot Camps three times a week.
Many of them were very nervous about starting the training sessions but with the support of our regular members they all smashed it.

Saturday marked the start of our newest Biggest Loser Challenge and we have some awesome people who are ready to kick start a real change.
We kicked things off with our induction event which gave our challengers the chance to get to know one another whilst we put everyone on our body-scanner to get some starting metrics.
Once everyone was scanned it was time for our nutrition seminar where we did a bit of myth busting, explained some of the basic nutrition principles and made... sure everyone was clear what they had to do over the next 6 weeks. It was a really interesting session with lots of great discussion and questions, which really got people thinking about some simple changes they could make for some potentially amazing results.
Now we’ve covered the theory it’s time to put it all into practice. Lucky our challengers don’t have to do it alone, not only will we support them every step of the way to achieve the best results possible, there was a great team atmosphere of encouragement, already and it was only Day 1.

Our first 6 Week Biggest Loser Challenge has ended and we are delighted to announce Mark was our Biggest Loser with a total loss of 31.6lbs which is 15% of his starting body weight, landing him the £250 cash prize at our presentation evening.
2nd Place went to Leanne with a total loss of 12.4lbs which is 8.2% of her starting body weight.
3rd place went to Julie with a total loss of 13.2lbs which is 7.2% of her starting body weight.
... As a group however the total loss was 199.6% which is an average loss of just under 10lbs, what an amazing group of people and a great achievement.

We are very proud of 3 crazy members of #teamDF who completed the Manchester Marathon yesterday.
Completing a Marathon is not just about race day, a lot of blood, sweat and tears are put in before even getting on the start line.

Day 14 Update – Biggest Loser
What an incredible bunch of people, doing an incredible job.
The Beast from the East and Storm Emma couldn’t deter these guys from making it to the gym. They’ve smashed every workout and been on top of their diets too.
... As a group they’ve hit a total loss of just over 80lbs and it’s only the end of Week 2. I can’t wait to see what another 4 weeks could bring.

The 6 week biggest loser was how I started with Durable Fitness the tri-weekly boot camp is hard but gets a little easier with practice, I thoroughly enjoy the sessions and feel it is a brilliant concept. Having never stuck at anything the training has kept me interest. Dan is very personable and makes you feel at ease and all the different members are welcoming including Becky. Having had a good weight loss in the 6 weeks I am happy to carry on and continue on my total fitness quest.

So having seen friends change their bodies and lifestyle from being at Durable Fitness I joined up to the 6 week challenge when I saw it advertised on Facebook. I've been a member of numerous gyms before but after a while got bored....never anyone around to kick my butt if I wasn't working hard enough or tell me if I was doing something wrong and then I left. Omg no time to get bored here...love the way the exercising is done each station just 30 seconds...you seem to put so much more effort into it when you know the time is counting down. I won't lie....it's bloody hard..some of the exercises far worse than others but it's not meant to be easy...but it works...you get out what you put in.



Doing the 6 wk challenge was fab and Dan and Becki have been so amazingly supportive...right from day one and explaining all about nutrition and calories right up to the last session. Joining on my own I was nervous but I had no reason to be. Every single member was supportive and encouraging and made each session fun...I've lost 9lb in total and 3cm from my waist and 5.5cm from my belly. I feel so much healthier and loved it so much I've become a fully fledged member and signed up to the next biggest loser challenge.



Anyone who has any doubts about joining please don't. Joining will be the best decision you can make if your serious about changing your lifestyle and getting fitter. And if I can do it anyone can.

Over the last 6 weeks I committed myself to do the biggest loser challenge at durable fitness I was terrified and basically got dragged there by my mum I was scared of being the biggest and too unfit to do the bootcamp but here I am 6 weeks later

Just completed the biggest loser challenge and I couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s the only ‘diet’ and exercise I’ve actually stuck out until the end. Dan is so welcoming and always on hand for advise and encouragement! The classes are hard work but so enjoyable, I’m so glad I joined one of the best things I’ve ever done!

Just completed the 6 week biggest loser challenge and can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every minute – after getting over the initial shock to the system that is!



I’d got out of the habit of exercising regularly, started putting on weight but lacked the motivation to get back to the gym. I’d seen the 6 week challenge advertised on Facebook and after a couple of weeks of should I / shouldn’t I - decided to give it a go.



I was apprehensive and a bit nervous when I arrived for the first training session but everyone is so friendly and welcoming that you soon feel at ease. My ‘buddy’ during that first session said ‘I love it – I’m addicted’. My initial reaction was ‘she must be mad – this is so hard!’ but a few sessions in and I understood what she meant.



The sessions are hard work but they are also varied, fast paced and challenging. As you’re constantly on the go moving from one exercise to the next, the time goes so quick and Dan & Becki are always on hand to provide the support and encouragement you need to push yourself that little bit further.



I’ve lost lbs and inches over the last 6 weeks but also feel much more energetic, healthier and fitter – the 6 week challenge was definitely the kick-start I needed to get back into the habit of exercising and eating healthily.



I’ve now become a member and am looking forward to building on the progress I’ve made.

Just completed my 6 week biggest loser challenge and I’m so happy... I’ve lost 10.5lb and 7.5cm from round my belly!!!..

At first I was nervous at the thought of giving up my way of life as I always seemed to have something on - an excuse to eat and drink what I liked but I really haven’t had to stop going out or feel like I’ve missed out. I’ve just been more mindful of how much I’m putting in and I’ve really enjoyed The bootcamps, they are - dare I say it ??? .. fun!!

I’ve just got to the end of the 6 week biggest loser challenge; when my sister in law asked me if I wanted to do this I was wondering what I’d let myself in for.... but I’ve loved every minute. The HIIT sessions are difficult but you feel so much better after the sessions are done � The Durable Fitness family are all really motivational and support you all the way, & Dan is just a text away with support and seem to always be watching you on the sessions! I’m so chuffed with my results, I can’t wait for the next 6 weeks!!

It might sound a bit OTT but the 6 week Biggest Loser Challenge has really transformed my health & lifestyle. I always thought I ate a healthy diet but this programme showed me I was eating WAY too much for my size - contributing to a steady weight gain of over 2 stone over the past few years. I was in complete denial that it was normal to put on a bit of weight here and there and that it was due to age/genetics etc. The training, seminars, support and advice we received made this one of the easiest training programmes I have ever done. I lost 12lb in 6 weeks with very little effort and maximum fun. Dan & Becki are so friendly and approachable - if you think you've got obstacles preventing you from joining a gym - they've seen it all before and will welcome you. Guys, just do it - best thing you'll ever do!

I took part in the 6 weeks biggest loser challenge. I was nervous at first at joining a gym environment but Durable Fitness isn't like your average gym. You feel welcome and part of the gym from the beginning and every part of your body gets a good workout during each boot camp. I have lost a total of 19.2 lbs during my 6 weeks. I still have a long way to go and am looking forward to being a permanent member of Durable Fitness now that the challenge is over. The 6 weeks hasn't just given me a kick up the bum to start losing weight but it has also made me aware of my eating habits.

I started the 6 week biggest loser challenge at durable fitness without to many expectations of myself!

I have always found exercising to much like hard work and always found myself getting very bored very quickly and that coupled with various injuries meant i always gave in very quickly.

Not at durable fitness from day one dan made you feel comfortable about youself and made it clear that it is more than possible to lose weight and get fitter regardless of our fitness levels or weight aaas long as we work at it. Dan is very knowledgeable and is very approachable and friendly and if something is not working for you he will come up with a plan to help you .

The sessions are hard I'm not gonna lie , but if they are not hard and you're not out of breath , sweating , or have jelly legs at the end then you aint worked hard enough. Saying that i thoroughly enjoy them and always look forward to the next session.

I have lost far more weight than anticipated , l now have a smaller waist, butt , moobs and now have only 2 chins �� but joking apart even more important i feel healthier, fitter and have more energy than I've had in a long time.

Finally thanks not just to dan and becky but thanks to all the challengers and regulars at durable fitness for making the last 6 week so enjoyable you are all amazing and will look forward to the foreseeable future aa i become a regular member. I would recommend the durable fitness family to anyone and would urge anyone wanting to get fit and lose weight to give it a go .���

Highly recommend joining durable fitness whether it's for a normal monthly membership or the 6 wk biggest loser. I am near the end of the 6wk biggest loser and I find the boot camp style classes fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and help you to push yourself to reach your goals. Dan is very hands on even behind the scenes he doesn't stop, what with doing his home workout videos, checking in with your progress and weight each week and even organising a social event to celebrate everyone's success

Brilliant 6 weeks and over the moon with the results. Significant weight loss at the end of the challenge even after going on an all inclusive holiday half way through and putting a lot of what I had initially lost back on. The programme and boot camps allowed me to lose it all and get back on track fairly quickly. I have been trying to trim up for years and thought I had a fairly decent idea about fitness but this programme simplified everything. Look forward to the next one!!!

6 weeks biggest loser challenge - I’m finding it hard to put into words how much this has changed my life. I have always hated exercise and I love this. The support from Dan has been second to none, Dan makes you feel like he’s in it with you and supports you every step of the way. He’s like this with all members - I have literally never met anybody that is so good at their job. I was very anxious about starting - what if I look silly? What if I’m too unfit? What if I’m too fat? Etc. Etc. But once I started I forgot about all of those doubts. The members are extremely helpful and friendly too! I’ve lost 16.7lbs in 6 weeks. 9.5cm from my navel and 8.5cm from my waist. I’ve dropped a dress size and feel fab! Thank you so much to Dan, Becki, Steve and all of the members at Durable Firness - AMAZING isn’t a good enough word to describe Durable Fitness ����

6 week biggest loser challenge has been a much needed kick for me to get fitter and healthier. You get out what you put in of course but Dan and Becky are there to support you all the way.

The sessions are fun and beat going on a treadmill for an hour any day!

6 weeks have finished and I have lost weight but more than that I have lost inches, have got into clothes I’ve not worn in 4 years and feel soooo good in myself - literally won’t be getting this smile off my face anytime soon!! ���

I’d got out of the habit of exercising regularly, started putting on weight but lacked the motivation to get back to the gym. I’d seen the 6 week challenge advertised on Facebook and after a couple of weeks of should I / shouldn’t I - decided to give it a go.



I was apprehensive and a bit nervous when I arrived for the first training session but everyone is so friendly and welcoming that you soon feel at ease. My ‘buddy’ during that first session said ‘I love it – I’m addicted’. My initial reaction was ‘she must be mad – this is so hard!’ but a few sessions in and I understood what she meant.



The sessions are hard work but they are also varied, fast paced and challenging. As you’re constantly on the go moving from one exercise to the next, the time goes so quick and Dan & Becki are always on hand to provide the support and encouragement you need to push yourself that little bit further.



I’ve lost lbs and inches over the last 6 weeks but also feel much more energetic, healthier and fitter – the 6 week challenge was definitely the kick-start I needed to get back into the habit of exercising and eating healthily.



I’ve now become a member and am looking forward to building on the progress I’ve made.

Just completed my 6 week biggest loser challenge and I’m so happy... I’ve lost 10.5lb and 7.5cm from round my belly!!!..

At first I was nervous at the thought of giving up my way of life as I always seemed to have something on - an excuse to eat and drink what I liked but I really haven’t had to stop going out or feel like I’ve missed out. I’ve just been more mindful of how much I’m putting in and I’ve really enjoyed The bootcamps, they are - dare I say it ??? .. fun!!

Huge thanks to Dan for all the support, you have been brilliant and thanks to all the other members for helping us losers along the way.. I’ll be back on Monday as a fully fledged member!!.. xxx

I’ve just got to the end of the 6 week biggest loser challenge; when my sister in law asked me if I wanted to do this I was wondering what I’d let myself in for.... but I’ve loved every minute. The HIIT sessions are difficult but you feel so much better after the sessions are done � The Durable Fitness family are all really motivational and support you all the way, & Dan is just a text away with support and seem to always be watching you on the sessions! I’m so chuffed with my results, I can’t wait for the next 6 weeks!!

I’ve just completed the 6 week weight loss challenge and now I feel fab!

I was nervous when I started as worried I wasn’t fit enough to keep up. Everyone has made me feel so welcome and encouraged me along the way I’ve now become a member !

I’ve lost 21.3lbs and 9cm off my stomach I feel so much healthier now.

The 6 weeks has given me the kick start I needed and will help me to my weight goal.

It might sound a bit OTT but the 6 week Biggest Loser Challenge has really transformed my health & lifestyle. I always thought I ate a healthy diet but this programme showed me I was eating WAY too much for my size - contributing to a steady weight gain of over 2 stone over the past few years. I was in complete denial that it was normal to put on a bit of weight here and there and that it was due to age/genetics etc. The training, seminars, support and advice we received made this one of the easiest training programmes I have ever done. I lost 12lb in 6 weeks with very little effort and maximum fun. Dan & Becki are so friendly and approachable - if you think you've got obstacles preventing you from joining a gym - they've seen it all before and will welcome you. Guys, just do it - best thing you'll ever do!

I took part in the 6 weeks biggest loser challenge. I was nervous at first at joining a gym environment but Durable Fitness isn't like your average gym. You feel welcome and part of the gym from the beginning and every part of your body gets a good workout during each boot camp. I have lost a total of 19.2 lbs during my 6 weeks. I still have a long way to go and am looking forward to being a permanent member of Durable Fitness now that the challenge is over. The 6 weeks hasn't just given me a kick up the bum to start losing weight but it has also made me aware of my eating habits.

I started the 6 week biggest loser challenge at durable fitness without to many expectations of myself!

I have always found exercising to much like hard work and always found myself getting very bored very quickly and that coupled with various injuries meant i always gave in very quickly.

Not at durable fitness from day one dan made you feel comfortable about youself and made it clear that it is more than possible to lose weight and get fitter regardless of our fitness levels or weight aaas long as we work at it. Dan is very knowledgeable and is very approachable and friendly and if something is not working for you he will come up with a plan to help you .

The sessions are hard I'm not gonna lie , but if they are not hard and you're not out of breath , sweating , or have jelly legs at the end then you aint worked hard enough. Saying that i thoroughly enjoy them and always look forward to the next session.

I have lost far more weight than anticipated , l now have a smaller waist, butt , moobs and now have only 2 chins �� but joking apart even more important i feel healthier, fitter and have more energy than I've had in a long time.

Finally thanks not just to dan and becky but thanks to all the challengers and regulars at durable fitness for making the last 6 week so enjoyable you are all amazing and will look forward to the foreseeable future aa i become a regular member. I would recommend the durable fitness family to anyone and would urge anyone wanting to get fit and lose weight to give it a go .���

I have absolutely loved my time at durable fitness over the last 6 weeks. Lost just under 10lb, lost 8.5 cm from my waist, got fitter and made a lot of new friends. The support you get from Dan is second to none. Couldn't recommend this place enough. X

Highly recommend joining durable fitness whether it's for a normal monthly membership or the 6 wk biggest loser. I am near the end of the 6wk biggest loser and I find the boot camp style classes fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and help you to push yourself to reach your goals. Dan is very hands on even behind the scenes he doesn't stop, what with doing his home workout videos, checking in with your progress and weight each week and even organising a social event to celebrate everyone's success

Brilliant 6 weeks and over the moon with the results. Significant weight loss at the end of the challenge even after going on an all inclusive holiday half way through and putting a lot of what I had initially lost back on. The programme and boot camps allowed me to lose it all and get back on track fairly quickly. I have been trying to trim up for years and thought I had a fairly decent idea about fitness but this programme simplified everything. Look forward to the next one!!!

6 weeks biggest loser challenge - I’m finding it hard to put into words how much this has changed my life. I have always hated exercise and I love this. The support from Dan has been second to none, Dan makes you feel like he’s in it with you and supports you every step of the way. He’s like this with all members - I have literally never met anybody that is so good at their job. I was very anxious about starting - what if I look silly? What if I’m too unfit? What if I’m too fat? Etc. Etc. But once I started I forgot about all of those doubts. The members are extremely helpful and friendly too! I’ve lost 16.7lbs in 6 weeks. 9.5cm from my navel and 8.5cm from my waist. I’ve dropped a dress size and feel fab! Thank you so much to Dan, Becki, Steve and all of the members at Durable Firness - AMAZING isn’t a good enough word to describe Durable Fitness ����

6 week biggest loser challenge has been a much needed kick for me to get fitter and healthier. You get out what you put in of course but Dan and Becky are there to support you all the way.

The sessions are fun and beat going on a treadmill for an hour any day!

6 weeks have finished and I have lost weight but more than that I have lost inches, have got into clothes I’ve not worn in 4 years and feel soooo good in myself - literally won’t be getting this smile off my face anytime soon!! ���
