We really enjoyed the experienced today. I booked the spa day for my self and my husband whose never been to a spa day before. The night before the spa day I ended up reading all the reviews on trip advisor don’t ask me Why! I was a little worried because I didn’t want to ruin my husbands experience, luckily it wasn’t like the reviews. The experience was fantastic it’s offers what it says the massage was brilliant considering I travel a lot and ...pay 4x more in places like Dubai for massages, I can honestly say the deal I paid for , I certainly got more for my money! Fantastic place fantastic service! Thanks ladies I will definitely return with family and friends!

Went today with 2 friends and had a fantastic day from start to finish. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and taken through to the changing rooms. Once changed and in our robes we were shown around the spa and then left to explore the facilities in piece. We all had an hours treatment in beautifully decorated rooms then served afternoon tea in the tea rooms. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing with a drink in the beautiful gardens. We will definitely be booking again. 5

Visited Durban House this morning for gel toes. Warm welcome by staff and clients a very relaxed atmosphere and was more than pleased with my toes . Booked more appointments and looking forward to my spa day there next week with my friend. 10 out of 10 for everyone that was working at Durban House this morning .

User

This place is amazing. First time I've been and I will definitely be back! I had a massage and a facial and they were both perfect! Love the double treatment rooms. I wish I'd ask the therapists names as they most definitely deserve a mention. The robes were lovely and cosy. The hot tub was nice and warm and so clean considering its outside! Even when it was raining outdoors the hot tub was still enjoyable as it's under a shelter. The relaxation sheds are comfy and perfect to chill in while waiting to use the hot tub or just for a sit down and chat. As if this wasn't great enough we then went upstairs, wow! Water beds, bean bags, sun loungers, steam room and even colouring books!! We also had afternoon tea which was worth every penny, massive and so tasty! Thanks to all the staff. We had a great day. See you soon!

User

I visited here on Saturday with a group of friends. It was so chilled and relaxing. We spent most of our time lounging around in the gardens and summer house with an occasional dip in the hot tub. The spa floor is beautiful but we never spent any time up there (perfect excuse for another visit).

We all had a pedicure and afternoon tea. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The added bonus, this is on our doorstep. We will definitely be back. Thank you Michelle and the team, you're doing a great job.

User

I visited Durban House Day Spa yesterday with a group of friends. We bought the £29 package each and I still can not believe the value for money. The spa is small but it does not claim to be big (I have been to big spas and although they offer more and are wonderful, they DO NOT offer the value for money we have seen here), they have done an amazing job of making the most of the spaces available. The spa has quotes by DH Lawrence all around which I absolutely loved. The quiet areas were wonderfully peaceful and there are lots of places to sit and relax with friends/partner or even by yourself. All of the areas we used were clean and the staff were very friendly.

I chose to have the facial as my 30 minute treatment. It was amazing. My skin was glowing and it still is today. The value for money was definitely seen here. In most spas you would be paying at least the amount we paid to be having these treatments so effectively you pay for a treatment and get a free relaxing day. How can that be faulted?

Our group chose to make use of the colour therapy introduction offer. We were curious and having never heard of it before we decided to give it a go to see what it was all about. We had a 20 minute session each and we did it in a group. WOW! I can not believe how exact the lady was about who we were as people, what we have been through and out gifts. I have never heard someone sum us up so perfectly. It was emotional yet uplifting and I will most definitely be booking myself in for a full session.

I will be returning here with my friends and I will also be returning here with my partner.

Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and we will see you very soon :D

User

I love this place, have been many times and will keep coming back. There is no better value for money, the treatments are lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Great hot tub and plenty of relaxation areas....love the heated water beds! Food in the cafe is always very good. I have to come at least once a month to get my spa fix :-)

User

I love that I have an affordable way to relax so close to home. The staff are lovely. I visited the day spa with a friend and we are already planning another visit!

User

I had my baby shower here on the 15th July...

The staff made such a good job making everything perfect, they opened up just for us.

The food & drinks were lovely I would definitely recommend this place, I will be coming back once baby is here.

Thank you.

User

Fabulous cut and colour by Claire, love my new hair style. Can't recommend enough

User

Came here on a groupon deal for the day and have to say I absolutely loved it. It's on a bus route, which a lot aren't. There were water beds (I could quite easily have spent the day on these to be honest as they were so warm and comfortable), an outdoor hot tub, chill out huts in the garden were fab, steam huts too. We had the hour massage which me and my friend loved and felt like being on a cloud on departure.

We also decided to buy afternoon tea as it was fairly priced on the day and the lady in the cafe was lovely even though it was last minute - proper drinks like san pelligrino (I think that's how it's spelt) and dandelion and burdock/ ginger beer along with delicious scones, personal pots of jam and clotted cream and home made cupcakes and some tasty smaller cakes as well as proper meat on the sandwiches and delicious cobs was a welcome change to some afternoon teas we have had in the past. Needs to be promoted more - absolute asset it is.

I wouldn't hesitate going again and will definately be visiting this local gem again soon.

User

Brilliant day out went with my mum for her first time x , well Looked after by the girls there and one who did my nails and toes glittery she got covered bless her x thankyou so much x

User

Arrive for the 12 till 4 afternoon tea with 3 friends. on arrival we was greeted with a lovely team of girls all very helpful we were given our treatment times and our afternoon tea times which suited us great we were shown around and got in to our afternoon the treatment were great and afternoon tea was also great we will return and recommend this to anyone there are just 2 things I would of preferred which were 1 we paid £5 for towels and robe I would of preferred robe and slippers it’s a extra £2.50 for slippers and 2 the cream for the scone I would of liked it to be clotted cream but from me and my friends it’s been a very enjoyable day

User

Amazing customer service from walking in the door to leaving. Decorated beautifully and the tea room has an wide choice of drinks and cakes, was really nice to be able to go there before receiving my treatment. The staff are attentive, very polite and welcoming. I had LVL lashes and I love them, my eyes would not stop watering but Michelle was so understanding and did such an amazing job! Will 100% be going back for more treatments or even just to try more of their delicious cakes! Highly recommended!😊

User

Absolutely amazing day for me and my friends! Had the 4hr spa access and afternoon tea and it was perfect. Great venue, peaceful and perfect for relaxing!

Food was yum - a great selection of sweet treats with tasty sandwiches.

Treatments were great, staff really friendly and very nice to talk to.

Will be coming back!! See you soon!

Visited today with 6 friends. We were greeted straight away by a lovely receptionist and everything was explained to us. We used the heated water beds, the jacuzzi and the outside heated room. We tried a couple of times to use the steam rooms and sauna but they were always full. The afternoon tea was very disappointing. We didn’t even get a cup of tea/ coffee with it. Just a scone with aerosol cream, some fairy cakes and a Christmas candy cane!! The massage we had though was absolutely amazing. It was well worth the £30 we paid on its own. The therapists were lovely and made you feel very relaxed. All in all we had a good day .

User

My first visit today with a friend for her birthday . There was a good deal on Wowcher which is what I purchased which included the afternoon tea . I was going to book the rasul mud treatment for us both on arrival but as the hot tub was not working we got those treatments free which was really good of them . As a result of the free treatment we decided to have a back massage which was lovely and would definitely have again . The place was a lovely little place . The staff are lovely and friendly . And very helpful . The afternoon tea was nice too and just the right amount although a choice of a few different sandwiches would be nice but we enjoyed it . I was disappointed that the hot tub wasn't working as I really wanted to go in it but it wasn't there fault it had broken . The only one thing I would say is which does need a slight improvement is that if it is your first visit then someone should be available in the area at all times so you can ask how to work things as some things we didn't understand how to do and didn't want to keep asking someone for help all the table . All in all I would recommend this lovely little place and would return again

User

Myself and my partner came here on Friday 16th June for my birthday, the building is lovely, it's rather small and wasn't what we expected as we have been to several spas around the UK and a couple in Nottingham so was expecting something pretty amazing. The robes we were given were fine but the slippers were horrible mine were falling apart and they definitely were reused ones!! And I'd say several times.

The spa could benefit from a pool and more showering places, the sauna wasn't to our liking as it didn't get very hot like others we have been in, the steam room was better but we couldn't understand the dials in there(more like a double shower size rather than a room)

The Jacuzzi was full of flies so we had to ask the ladies if they could be removed I wasn't so fussed my partner was but after I seen the amount I was taken aback and definitely wanted them gone, they didn't have a net so used empty water cups to do this. The service of the ladies were good anything we asked they did and were very accommodating. The best part of the whole experience was definitely the treatments and myself and my other half both enjoyed them. Overall it's a nice building as stated could do with a pool and the grounds to be more secluded as you can be seen from the street walking around in your robe if you're outside in the garden or Jacuzzi.

I'm not sure I'd go here with a load of my female friends as there isn't much to do but for me and my other half it was fine we didn't stay the whole 6 hours we arrived at just gone 10 and left by 1/2 I think that was long enough for us purely because there wasn't much for us to do that we couldn't do at home.

User

Durban house beauty lounge. I love Boutique and Quirky but this was disappointing. We wanted afternoon tea but were told it had to be ordered before (we hadn't been told that) so we ordered jacket potatoes with Feta and red onion and tuna sweet corn with mayo only to be told 2 hours later there wasn't any mayo or red onion. (Morrisons is 2 mins away!) We didn't get a drink and cake with our package had stated or should I say we did but were then charged for them. The changing rooms should have cubicles of some kind not just a screen, not everyone is keen on bearing all to everyone. We had been told we could hire robes and slippers for £5 but were then told there wasn't any slippers but some were then found but they were filthy so we wore our shoes. My friend had stated when we booked that she was a larger lady and would the robes fit "Yes" was the answer ! Good job she brought her own because yours wouldn't go around her. Our back massage and facial were nice apart from the fact that, as we told you, the young girls left us for our face masks to work! But came back smelling of cigarettes. Not a pleasant experience. All in all a disappointing spa day which we were so looking forward to. The only plus I can find is the lovely reception lady ( sorry I dont know your name) and Pauline who gave us a trial colour therapy session which was wonderful, such a credit to you. Sorry to be so negative but these things could so easily put right.

I sent this review last Sunday and have not had any reply from Durban house so have decided to post on FB so hopefully no one else wastes money.

A very true review

The afternoon tea is appalling

The scones are 8 for a £1 (I saw the packet)

The canned squirty cream is a joke.

Everything on it was cheap and tacky, something a child might enjoy.

The spa is very sparse,

The changing rooms are far too small with a lack of privacy, only a screen to get changed behind.

The robes are not 1 size fits all, if you are a larger person they will not fit you.

The 2 stars are for the staff as they were friendly and welcoming, also the chill out area is nice.

If there are more than say 8/10 people booked in at a time it would be a nightmare to use the lack of facilities

I have noticed that on all poor reviews the owner gets very defensive

I would suggest a simple “we appreciate your feedback and we will try to rectify the issues you have risen” would be far more professional

I wouldn’t recommend this “spa” unless some serious improvement is made.

I love this place, have been many times and will keep coming back. There is no better value for money, the treatments are lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Great hot tub and plenty of relaxation areas....love the heated water beds! Food in the cafe is always very good. I have to come at least once a month to get my spa fix :-)

Absolutely amazing day for me and my friends! Had the 4hr spa access and afternoon tea and it was perfect. Great venue, peaceful and perfect for relaxing!

Thank you.

Fabulous cut and colour by Claire, love my new hair style. Can't recommend enough
