We went to the Elizabethan on 28th April for my missus birthday. We reserved a table for 15 of us and our service was excellent. We was served and looked after by the lovely Jane. Nothing was to much trouble. Food and drinks were ordered and arrived quickly and Jane looked after us all night. Great service.

User

We love the Liz. Came just before Christmas with a bunch of friends and kids and then between Christmas and New Year for lunch with kids and grandparents and found a lovely warm welcome on both visits.

With the friends we were worried the kids were messing but the staff were great and the food was prompt so they didn’t have time to get agitated.

Food is lovely and not too expensive. Proper pub food. Not pretentious, friendly service and tasty food. What more could you want from a pub lunch!

Would definitely recommend for family food.

User

Top bank holiday sunny Sunday afternoon in the Elizabethan, excellent service with lots of bar staff on hand, particular mention must go to Jordan for his attention to detail, when i was at the bar ordering wine for my wife i couldn't remember if she was drinking the South African or Australian wine, he remembered that it was the South African and this saved me having to go back to our table to ask her and then queue up again :-)

User

Service was excelent 5 star cheese and onion pies 4.5 my partner makes the best but still good unfortunately no treacle pudding sold out 🙁All in all great service good food will defiantly go again 2 coarse was enough

User

On mothers day we booked Tom's bar for 9 of us, when we booked thrg told us it was open menu. Then on the day they told us that it was a set menu and it would cost us £30 a head. We felt this was so unfair as they just sprung it on us, we decided to try the Elizabethan across the rd to see if they had any tables available and they did! They couldn't do enough for us and service was spot on as was their set Menu at £24.99 per head, the food was spot on and they couldn't do enough for us even though we were last minute customers. Well done to to all the staff will definitely be booking again!

User

I visited with my wife, daughter, son in law and grandaughter for a early evening meal. We had a selection of really good meals, all well cooked, served very quickly.

The cheese board was worthy of special mention, good quality and very fresh.

The staff are very friendly and efficient, they provide excellent service and are great with children.

Suffice to say we will be back next week!

User

80s night was the busiest I have ever seen this pub great to have a dj and some music was obviously a success should have more events like this !

User

After reading the reviews I was nervous about the food quality and staff.

But we rocked up early today, before they had even opened, and although a chap pointed this out a couple of times, all by ten minutes, we was waited on by a lovely lady asking for our drinks order.

Our food order was taken as soon as we was ready and the six meals that came all different were lovely, I especially liked the halloumi fries, I had a salmon salad, really fresh and tasty, my daughters gammon was also lovely and there wasn’t one complaint on our table.

Very yummy.

The only thing I would say is you are unable to leave a card behind the bar to open a table if sitting outside but I can understand this in a busy pub and the amount of non payments they may have had.

Over all I was happy with our experience and would go back.

Thanks

User

Bring back Regent lager ! I used to regularly call in for a couple of pints and would often come along for a meal with my other half and the outlaws. But we like a decent pint and this Manchester Craft Lager is awful. There isn't a decent bottled beer either. I was a big fan of the Lizzie and the staff are great as ever. But the beer aint up to it.

User

The venue was fine and the service good. However the food was very average and nothing to write home about. Overall we were disappointed with the fayre and probably won't be going back for a meal out.

User

Where to start. I’ve been in here a couple of times. It’s my local and I tried really hard to like the place.

- last night I was rudely told to remove my hat (a wooden flat cap) by the barmaid. It’s a cold January night in Manchester. You’re a Lees chain pub, one rung above Wetherspoons. Have a word with yourselves.

- beer selection is dreadful, no independent ales whatsoever.

- food is unremarkable and does not appear to be fresh or home made.

There are far better places to drink nearby. The Moor Top, Heaton Hops and the Plough are all close, have a better offer and friendlier staff.

I live next door and will not be returning.

User

Terrible experience today, 8 of us came in ordering food and drinks which would of amounted to £100 to then be told after ordering that as one of us had a pair of shorts on with a small football team logo on that the one individual would have to leave. Disgrace. We asked for our money back as they would obviously rather loose out on this money than have one guy sit with us not causing any trouble.

You might want to have a read through some of your reviews and take note, think about reworking your petty ridiculous ‘rule’ you’re just a pub.

User

Shame on you for refusing to serve a brave lady who'd just completed the Manchester run because she was wearing her charity running shirt. Other pubs were offering a free glass to anyone who took part, especially at this poignant time. You can delete this message, but you can never delete the memory of it!

User

Outrageous car parking charges. £5 for over 2 hours and not refundable when you buy food/drink. Average food. Certainly not worth paying to eat or drink in this establishment. Best advice: avoid this place and take your business elsewhere.

User

Myself and my family came yesterday for a Boxing Day meal, (pre-booked for 2pm) when we arrived we were kept waiting outside in the cold until 2:10pm, with a member of staff informing us they were not opening til 3pm when we were eventually allowed in we were made to wait as our table was not set. We then had to wait until 3pm for our starters to arrive (although we had pre ordered our meals from the festive menu) the soup arrived and was not hot. We then waited a further 40 mins for the main course to arrive which again arrived and was not hot. We had to them ask for our desserts after waiting for them. Customer service was poor. Food was not great. And took 3 hours to get 3 courses out to us. (With small children) Overall a disappointing experience. Felt let down as this was the first time all the family was able to get together for the festive period and was looking forward to a nice meal. One of our party went to speak to the manager at the end of the meal to share our feedback and he was not very empathetic and instead tried to make excuses, which was not what we wanted to hear after spending a lot of money on a mediocre meal for a party of 12.

User

Looking for a very average pub with a ridiculous, pretentious dress code? Then come here. Visited here with a group of friends on Sunday afternoon. We ordered food and drink and then 10 minutes later our foreign friend was picked out for having a badge on his shorts, YES A BADGE and was asked to leave. Highly embarrassing and matters made worse by rude, incompetent staff. We asked for our money back and left. I would certainly avoid this place and go to a proper and more friendly pub.

User

I have always found this to be a good place to eat and drink and therefore I have been an regular customer. When I went on Friday the 22nd of june, I took my sisters, the youngest being 19. Although it has an over 21 policy I checked this with they pub and they reassured me that as long as it was just a meal it would be fine. As we had also discussed, we would not be going against the law if she were to have one glass of wine with food although this was not our reason for going there. The bouncers however had a different idea and not only did they question my sister in a very aggressive way, they circled our table throughout the whole meal and even came over whilst we were paying a considerable bill, to suggest my sister should be leaving. We had also been placed near the male toilets and it became apparent very early on that the large groups of men going in and out of them were up to something much more sinister than 3 girls going for a quiet meal together. The bouncers, for whatever reason (clearly on on a power trip) made 3 honest and good customers feel unwelcome. We felt humiliated and disappointment in the service shown when we had payed a considerably large bill. This showed very bad customer service. What a big disappointment!

User

I don’t know what has happened to the Elizabethan but the service on Sunday was extremely poor. Very disappointed! I have emailed to complain no response at all. Where do I start we came in as a big group with children to drink but I ordered food for the children to be rudely asked if I was ordering for adults as they can’t take 25 orders! I said I was just ordering for 3 children then for the guy to walk off and leave me at the bar waiting! Two people were told they couldn’t order coffee because it was too busy! My friends 10 year old was spoken to abruptly and rudely when she asked for a menu and one of the waitresses was extremely rude. Literally appalled at the customer service it was shocking! As a local it was a highly disappointing experience

User

I advise anyone who’s coming for food a few quite drinks not to bother coming here the atmosphere is not the best. Not only that once we had finished our food and still had 2 full drinks each we informed the waitress we were going outside for a cigarette and we will be coming back as we had left our drinks on the table. Once outside we were approached by a manger who then said we needed to pay there and then outside even though we were planning on getting more drinks on the tab he was very rude and insisted abruptly to pay now. Once we paid outside he then came back outside to say they can no longer serve us and that we are barred for god knows what reason once I asked for the reason as I am obliged to know he refused to do so sleigh foul look on his face. Once coming back in to finish the 2 full drink we had to finish he approaches me once again Asif to say we could not finish them after already paying. I sat and finished my drinks. I advise anyone who wants to come here done the service is rude and just because we are a young generation (over there silly over 21) they feel we are here to cause trouble talk about discrimination ! Waiters name ( MILES ) I’d give it half a star if possible
