Elton Sailing Club

The Tuesday gang have been hard at work today led by our Commodore Peter Finney. New fences have been erected to hide our very large and colourful bins. Parking spaces have been marked out, by our yellow line expert Stan Beswick.

Superb nights racing at Elton last night with the first race in the Summer Pursuit series. 28 boats out on the water in fresh conditions. Adam Savage took the honours with John Mann in a well merited second place and Dave Gamble third.

In light of Englands win in the World Cup yesterday and the semi final being played this coming Wednesday at 7.00pm we are pleased to confirm that the game will be shown on the big screen in the clubhouse for those members and friends wishing to watch it before or after sailing. As usual excellent beer and food will be available.

Watch the England vs Sweden match this coming Saturday at the Sailing Club on the big screen. A good sail early in the afternoon, followed by a small beer and the big match starting at 3.00pm. All members and friends welcome. The CO2 crisis has been averted and Dave has lots of beer and lager ready to be consumed.

ANNUAL BBQ AND DUCK RACE – SATURDAY 14TH JULY.
It’s that time of year again – yes it’s our Annual BBQ and Duck Race . All members and friends are invited to this fun event to celebrate our quacking Sailing friendships.
Tickets now on sale both on WEB-collect, which is preferable, and from the bar. Prices are:... Adults: £5pp, (under 10 yrs – £2.50) Start is 2.00pm, with the BBQ at 4.00pm and the Duck Race 5.00pm.
You can pick your favourite Duck by signing up on the List of Ducks on the bar. Each duck costs £2. Please put your money in the jar next to the list. Monetary Prizes will be presented to the first three ducks over the line.

This morning Kioni witnessed the inaugural performance of the Elton SC synchronised swimming club. (The Tiller Boys). The intensive training in the Spavento bar the previous evening paid dividends. The video below catches the flavour and the foot virus,

Our expert special works team consisting of Peter, Mick. Nigel and Dave are doing sterling work on the boat shed. They have replaced the main floor beams and the main wall framework and are now attaching the new cladding. A big thank you goes to all involved. Photos below show the work in progress.

Went up to Elton sailing club for the open day and I must say, was hugely surprised and impressed. The people who were showing us around were so attentive and enthusiastic and the facilities were spot on. Going to try the taster sessions then hopefully become full fledged members

My daughter is learning to sail with her uncle and cousin. The club and members could not be more welcoming and friendly. They are always there to help the children.Recommed to anyone

Me and my two children came to the open day today... It was amazing!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the instructors were fab. Brilliant place � See you all again very soon!

I have recently joined along with my partner Greg and my daughter Megan. I can't thank everybody at the club enough , they have been encouraging, welcoming and extremely helpful. A great place to spend some quality time with your family.
