We're still in desperate need of a new Treasurer as long-serving Emmaus Salford trustee Gordon is retiring soon. If you know of any accountants who may be interested please share this rewarding role with them πŸ’š

Big thanks to the team of volunteers from Kellogg's UK & Ireland who have helped out at the Emmaus Salford community home today. They've spent the day painting the communal corridors and learning more about the work of our charity. Great support yet again from our neighbours located at MediaCity UK πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Lucie's Pantry, our social supermarket, is now supporting more than 130 Salford households. With the funding we received this summer from the Edward Holt Trust we've been able to increase our capacity and help even more people. Very well done to Pat and the team πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘

So..... I asked the Emmaus team to come over to my aunts house to take away (keep it tip) some furniture.

Not only were they on time they were early and chomping at the bit to get going.

3 very pleasant workers never stopped from start to finish and were polite and courteous.

I can't recommend this service enough.

All tut furniture cleared away to the tip (or taken for resale if they choose to) for a nominal fee.

Brilliant!!! Thanks so much.

Lovely staff always friendly and helpful. I recently got a set of drawers from the shop in great condition and bargain price :-D

Love to pop in and look for my next upcycle project! Staff are friendly and are always welcoming.

User

Staff are pleasant For the most part. I did get my head bitten off a few months ago when I'd been stood at the counter for 5 minutes trying to get served. The staff member shouted at me to wait as he was busy. I could have easily walked out with the stuff I had.

Furniture maybe second hand but it's been looked after by the previous owners and the staff. I've bought stuff from them before normally vinyl or dvd's but a few weeks ago I bought a really good quality cupboard, there was paint marks on it but I wasn't bothered by that I can't understand why it was dirty round the base and inside when it was delivered when it was clean in the shop? These two reasons are the reason for the 4 stars.

User

Very disappointed. Attempted to donate a solid teak bedroom set by durable suites ltd. originally cost over 2k, made contemporary by an expert up-cycling company (painted and waxed) and these were refused by β€œdriver discretion”. Had an offer via eBay for these for Β£350 that I turned down and decided to donate to a good cause. What a joke when I see some of furniture they are selling. When i sell these, I will be donating to an alternative worthy cause that will not be emmaus.

User

Offered to donate 2 suites. Arranged for pick-up but sent several photographs of each (including fire labels) to the email address they provided and asked them to let me know if they were not suitable. Had no response so assumed no issues. They turned up as expected but then told me only one was suitable. They even turned down the more expensive suite. Said it was 'drivers discretion' which was never explained to me at any point in the phone call. I asked why nobody could be bothered to contact me and they just shrugged their shoulders. This left me with 2 new suites being delivered with nowhere for the old ones to go. I rang to try to get an explanation but they didn't seem to care that I had been severely inconvenienced and now also out of pocket. Said they 'didn't receive the email' (despite them confirming it was the correct email address and no returned email to me). I could have dealt with the situation had they bothered to a) give me the correct information in the phone call and/or b) bothered to have called to say they hadn't received the email. Won't be doing this again :(
