The objective of this course is to enable electricians working in the domestic environment to understand how electrical installations in dwellings must comply with all relevant Building Regulations.
We need to know about these regulations and how to comply with them. This is where the Building Regulations Course comes into its own; it will make you aware of all the areas in which your installation may stray from Part P into other areas of the Building Regulations, as well as going through ways to comply with the relevant Sections.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course and it may also be relevant to other trades people as well as surveyors.

It is desirable (but not essential) that you have an assessors award, an internal quality assurance awarded a teaching qualification. Initial pay will reflect your existing qualifications but any training you require will be provided free as part of any package offered, with pay rising accordingly upon achievement.

Often considered the next level of progression from the 2392 Fundamental Inspection and Test, the C&G 2391-52 Inspection & Testing course will cover both Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection & Test disciplines. This course combines both the 2391-50 (2394) and 2391-51 (2395) teaching you all aspects of Inspection and Testing.

The 2396 Design and Verification course is aimed at those that want to take their knowledge a little further, it has applications across the board from domestic to industrial.
The designing process will also give you a more complete understanding of other installations, from things like why a certain wiring route may have been used all the way through to why that specific cable type and wiring system was chosen. It also helps massively when testing as it will give you a diffe...rent perspective on what may be going on behind the scenes.
There are two assessments involved in the course, one of which is a 3 hour written exam; the exam is open book and will be based on all of the things involved in the course. The other assessment will be a portfolio of work that needs to be completed, for this you will be asked to complete the electrical design for a full installation.

One of the ways of achieving this is to have regular PAT testing carried out. I've just completed the domestic installer course and absolutely loved it. I walked into erudite 4 weeks ago knowing pretty much nothing about the industry but thanks to the excellent course content and knowledgeable tutors I now feel confident to go out and secure entry level employment. Thank you to all of the teaching and administrative staff for making me feel so welcome. I would definitely recommend you to anyone who is looking to start right from the beginning and I look forward to coming back and studying again with you.

I can't recommend the Domestic Installer course highly enough. From Day 1, it was obvious that we were being taught the subject and all aspects concerned with it, not just theory to pass tests. There's an excellent blend of theory and practice and everyone is encouraged to ask questions and get involved. The tutor, Greg, was not only very knowledgeable (as you would expect) but delivered the course with great enthusiasm, patience and humour. With hindsight, the course fee was excellent value for money and I've made several good friends into the bargain. With informal guidance on how to move forward after the course finishes, you could be well on the way to a new career in a matter of weeks.

Having recently completed the Domestic Electrical Installer course I would like to say how knowledgeable and friendly all the staff are (tutors and office staff). I have my Stroma assessment next week to join their competent person scheme and feel well prepared.



I am returning at the end of the week to do the Electric Vehicle charging course so I can offer that service to my customers in the future.
