Forget Me Not Care Farm

About Forget Me Not Care Farm

At Forget Me Not Care Farm we provide supervised and supported work placements for adults with disabilities as an alternative to day centres.

Forget Me Not Care Farm Description

Entrance to the farm is Β£1 per person. Children who are in a pram or who need to be carried come in for free. People with disabilities also come in for free.

At Forget Me Not Care Farm we provide supported work placements for adults with difficulties and disabilities. We work in an outdoor educational environment situated at Forget Me Not Care Farm at Carr Farm Garden Centre (formally at Tam O' Shanter Farm).

If you know or care for somebody who might be interested / benefit from a supported work placement here at the farm then you can visit the farm to set up a taster day. Alternatively you can
contact us on the facebook page,
email woodworkout@gmail.com,
or you can ring 0151 632 5317 and leave a message.

On placement we provide the Service Users with practical education in Horticulture, Agriculture, Land Based Environmental Studies and Animal Husbandry.

A normal working day starts at 9: 00 and ends at 16: 00. (This is negotiable depending on an individual's circumstances)
During a normal working day we will support the Service Users doing an array of jobs on the farm including: Maintenance of indoor enclosures and outdoor paddocks, the health and well-being of the farm animals, Agricultural Management and basic countryside and wildlife conservation.

πŸ‘*****Brand new arrivals*****πŸ‘ We are borrowing sheep from a fellow farmer each year so we can have little lambs on the farm every year and when they are old enough they will go back to their owner. The ewe with the brown face's lambs are Charolais Suffolk cross and the ewe with the pale face's lambs are Texal crosses! The lambs are currently 10 days old, come and visit to see these little cuties!

Settling in their brand new paddock and stable are our two beautiful new arrivals Huckleberry and Piper. These are Miniature Mediterranean Donkey foals and will not grow taller than 32 inches. They are super friendly and are very curious. We couldn't have asked for a more laid back and affectionate pair! Wonderful addition to the farm!

User

The donkey paddock has been fenced and the shed nearly finished! Just the stable doors and the gate to place and we are done! The donkeys will be lead to grass a few times a day so they don't over graze and will spend most of their time in here 🌴

User

The ducks were busy last night!!! πŸ₯šπŸ₯šπŸ₯š

Progress on the donkey stable! Its flying up, just the field to fence and the wood chip to finish! Super excited!

This is place is a hub of delights! I want to give a special mention to the AMAZING cockerels and of course the other happy healthy animals- the peeps who run this place really care about what they do! Fantastic for families- essential for young children in this age of iPads and phones! Go Explore!!!!

User

Such a great place, really friendly staff & animals. One very kind lady even helped my little girl get donkey cuddles when she was sad that she couldn't get them to come over. Will definitely be going back.

User

Really love this place. My sone is 1 and it's the perfect size for him to wander around. I go for a tea cake and then wander around here for half an hour and he is knackered. The staff are lovely and full of info. Xx

User

Really friendly staff, a lovely set up, and a great selection of animals (including birds of prey today). We can't wait to see how it continues to develop.

User

Our group met this morning at the wonderful Forget-Me-Not Farm, and came face-to-face with Phil the one-eyed cockerel, the three little pigs and a (baa baa) black sheep! We had so much fun, thanks to Andy and Liz for our tour of the farm and allowing us 'behind the scenes' to read a story with the children. A brilliant group visit, we'll be back!

User

Lovely to meet the animals, the pigs really made us laugh and what can I say about the gorgeous Phil, must be seen to be believed. Everyone is so friendly and happy to talk about the animals, especially the escapee sheep. We will return!

I've taken my 11 month old twins to the farm a couple of times and we love it! Everyone is so friendly and we love the animals. Keep up the good work

User

I visited the farm today for the first time more by accident than design as I was at the Garden centre but didn't didn't know it was right there. So glad I found it, it's like a little rustic haven! So nice to see the animals, some real characters! nice to just wander around & chat with the goats! Still some development to do apparently so it can only get better.

User
