We got married here 2 weeks ago and it was perfect. Formby Hall was always on my list of places to get married and I’m so happy we went ahead with this venue. We attended a wedding opening evening and from there fell in love with the venue.

From booking the wedding we had 2 amazing wedding Co-ordinators who were great and made sure our day was just how we planned.

On the day the room was done perfectly for the cermomony, wedding breakfast and then turned around for the evening guests by the events team.

The weather was perfect on our day and we got some amazing pictures outside which we also really wanted.

The staff working on the day were great making sure we had everything we needed.

Thank you to all the staff working on our wedding day and those who made our day what we expected in events and weddings.

We can’t wait to come back for another stay here.

My friends and I had a fabulous stay at the hotel

Our room was perfect for myself & my 3 friends with. Beautiful patio area overlooking the golf course we had a tasty lunch in the restaurant & fantastic spa treatments the staff were all wonderful and we used the pool facilities too,

Our 2 course evening meal was exceptional ( which was included in our hotel deal ) and we were looked after so well all the staff were so polite & accomadting, we all had a very relaxing time whilst staying at the hotel & very nice full English breakfast in the morning, we did not want our stay to end so will be booking to stay again soon!! Great hotel deal & worth every penny!

Stayed last night as a surprise treat for my friends Birthday.

We both loved our stay.

Arrived at 11am to get full use of facilities before our afternoon tea, had this outside as weather was glorious.

Treatments followed shortly after, which were great and some time in tranquillity suite.

Our stay from arrival to finish staff were very polite, informative and helpful.

Our room was beautiful, clean and beds very comfy.

Some issues with our evening meal, however this was quickly rectified and reimbursed for supplement charges.

Breakfast was good too �

Me and my Sister have just returned from a fantastic overnight stay absolutely amazing place rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable huge bathroom. Nice welcome on checking in,our room was not ready when we arrived just before 12 but that was not a problem our bags where put in a safe storage and we grabbed our swim wear and off we popped for our spa day. We then got another warm welcome from the staff at spa taken through to bistro for a free welcome drink ordered lunch got our robes and slippers and that was us chilling for the rest of the day pool,jacuzzi,sauna steamroom and the facial and head massage for my sister. Our 2course evening meal was delicious. Breakfast the following day was also full of choice, hot and tasty. We had a really good time and can not wait to return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Just home from a wonderful Spa break with my mum. We had 3 amazing treatments along with a bento box lunch and prosecco. Our evening meal was delicious and I must say the bar prices are very reasonable. This hotel is beautiful and we experienced nothing but amazing service. We had a beautiful loft room, that was a real treat for a small supplement. The only thing the room lacked was bottled drinking water and I was hoping the mini bar would have been stocked so I didn’t have to traipse down to the bar.

Overall it was a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend the Spa deals ( Virgin Experience ).

I have just shoved a leaflet about the golf deals under my husbands nose so hopefully it won’t be to long before I return.

Great Hotel , very friendly and efficient staff, great breakfast and all together a brilliant three nights stay there. A very good spa area with sauna, steam rooms, jacuzzi and a pool. I never played the golf course but it looked very good with some great greens, we would have played there but were booked elsewhere for a golf tournament and didn't have time, maybe next time, I would definitely go back.

We have just had a lovely stay at the hotel on a package deal. The room was lovely, overlooking the golf course. The evening meal was very nice and the service good. We had enjoyed the gym and pool after a good breakfast. Our treatments were for this morning and we were disappointed at the amount of time spent on the treatment. Should have been 25 mins but by my timings it was only actually 15 mins treatment. I did complain but she argued that we had the full time. I won't be going there for any more treatments.

Myself and my friend visited on a Day Spa package this week. The venue is stunning, particularly the views from the Spa Bistro Terrace. We had the tension massage and the express facial, which were both excellent. I must mention Trish who served us in the Bistro at lunch. What a lovely, attentive and professional lady! She really helped to make our experience enjoyable. Facilities are great overall. Would’ve liked an outdoor lounge area for the good weather...maybe something for the future?

Lovely bar area and restaurant over looking the golfing range. Nice menu and ambience. Bit disorganised entering the restaurant as waitresses didn’t seem to know where to sit us and what the procedure was but eventually got seated and staff where very attentive. Flat beer in bar but kind bartender sorted out this issue swiftly. Very good tasty food.

Just had a gin infused spa break with my husband for his 50th birthday, had a great time and very impressed with the place! However, having paid extra for an exec room overlooking golf course we were upgraded to a suite....very nice room and don’t mean to sound ungrateful but would’ve much preferred the original booking with big opening doors ...ground floor even has little patio area which loads of people were using to sit out in sun and wide open doors to room. We had a few small windows that faces onto restaurant and bar patio area.

Bar and restaurant staff were excellent and food was lovely in very nice surroundings.

Wasn’t the best spa experience I’ve ever had...refurb of changing rooms made it a bit awkward and steam in rasul didn’t work at first....but was ok. Still waiting for therapist to talk to us after filling in the health form, another member of staff just took us to rasul room to get on with it....she had previously asked if we wanted to be shown around...well yes, have just told you never been before so that would be helpful.

Overall good experience and value...will return.

First time visiting Formby Hall and although it was amazing I left a little disappointed.

Me and my husband booked an overnight stay as when you have 2 young children getting a full night sleep is hard work so we were looking forward to a peaceful night. We booked a loft room which was probably one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. The spa was lovely and the massages and facials we booked were just amazing. We had a lovely meal and drinks in the restaurant and we were already to get an early night after such a lovely day. Well that is what we thought. Our room was positioned right above the function room and needless to say the music was that loud that we actually felt we were in the party room ourselves. I didn’t call reception to complain as it was someone’s wedding and they had waited so long for there special day but it kind of ruined our night as we were unable to get to sleep until the party ended. We left the hotel feeling very tired which wasn’t what we expected.

Arrived home this afternoon after a 1 night stay with 2 friends. Its a beautiful place and we went on a special offer which was on Facebook. As it was a speial offer and a lot cheaper as usual i can't really say anything but if i was to pay full price i think i would of been not very happy . The spa was very nice but while in one of the relaxation rooms the amount of noises coming from other quests was not very pleasant and very relaxing as it should of been. So i would suggest that the staff make it clear thats what its all about. Plus getting told at 4.15pm we had to leave the cafe as they were closing at 5pm and had to mop the floor. Then moved into the spar reception area and watched then start packing the things away from the shelves at 4.30pm.. as they close at 5pm.. so in other words please leave feeling. But the cook can stay.. the food was fabulous and the service was very good and very friendly in the restaurant and bar .. the room was lovley expept for the light in the shower that was flashing.. we did report it before dinner but still flashing after we returned to the room. I wouldn't return and pay full for that experience.

Just got home from our stay at Formby Hall. Overall the hotel and Spa are very nice but there are improvements to be made especially in the hotel.



Positives: The hotel rooms are lovely. Ours was on the ground floor looking out onto the golf course and it was lovely being able to open the double doors and sit outside. The Spa swimming pool is very nice and the pool is all one depth which is good. Breakfast was very nice and the breakfast staff are lovely especially Pauline who made us feel very welcome.

Negatives: There doesn’t appear to be enough bar staff in the evening. Our first drinks order was forgotten about and then one of the cocktails was wrong. When I tried to order another drink I was told to wait as he was in the middle of preparing someone else’s order!!! We waited 20 mins for our drinks to be made which made us late for our restaurant booking. Restaurant staff seemed like they could not be bothered. Nobody offered us water and when one of us asked for water only one glass was brought! The Spa needs an outside area as there’s nowhere nice to sit especially if it’s a lovely day.



Overall a nice hotel but staff training on how to treat customers is essential.

I have just returned from my birthday treat away and to be honest i was rather disappointed. Facilities not available or working, no phone, robes, slippers or toiletries in the room. As there was no phone i had to keep going down to reception, when we did get the robes they were dirty and had hairs on them.

We decided to go to the room at night with drinks and watch a film which was impossible to do as the tv didnt work it had no sound!!

The kettle was filthy and full of limescale making the coffee taste disgusting. There was stains and hairs in the bed . I complained at reception but was just advised they would speak to housekeeping , i would like to be contacted by a manager as soon as possible please.

However the staff were friendly and food in the restaurant was nice. We used the pool, sauna, steam room etc which were nice also.

I booked the Atlas Rasul for myself and daughter as a finished A levels pamper, we got all muddy ready to sit in the steam room which was good then the shower is supposed to start BUT unfortunately they never came on! Someone had gone through the water pipe in the renovation and turned all water off!! So there we were covered in hard Mudd. One of the team there couldn’t do enough for us she managed to get jugs of warm water and loads of cloths so we could wash off as much as possible, she was great we had to laugh . We going back for something different in a few months as they gave us a voucher because of the inconvenience

Had 1 nights stay with Mum. Unfortunately due old age creeping in Mums legs are not so good. Found getting around the hotel with a wheelchair quite difficult, due to lots of heavy wooden fire doors to get through.

Our room was situated on the ground floor overlooking the golf course. It was comfortable and clean. With complementary tea and coffee.

Can I just add a special mention to Trish working in the Bistro in the Spa. She was really helpful and is a great credit to the hotel and spa.

Dinner was really lovely. Set in nice surroundings.

Good service from the waitress.

Breakfast was excellent with fresh food ready and waiting.

Overall a nice place to visit.

But as Mum is in a wheelchair we were recommended a higher priced room due to the fact a wheelchair could not fit into the average bathroom!!!!

The only room to recommend was a suite obviously at a much higher price....



Unfortunately we will not return due to the difficulties getting in and out of the pool and jacuzzi plus having to pay more as my mums in a wheelchair!!!!

Currently staying on a spa break at Formby Hall, with my friend for her 40th birthday treat.

Hotel reception staff very pleasant and helpful, along with lady in the bar during lunchtime.

Room is lovely but some areas that lacked cleaning (thick dust in between bars on radiator in bathroom, dirty glasses).

Unfortunately our experience in the spa was very disappointing. Booked for head, shoulder and neck massages, mine was great but my friends was not a massage, there was no pressure used, despite asking my friend if the pressure was okay and being told she liked it a lot firmer. One of the therapist phones (on vibrate) also started vibrating, which she had to address, stopping the massage to do so. After comparing methods they were different with mine much more thorough and competent. It came across that the girl was either training or very newly qualified, think she needs to receive this feedback, our treatment time was 4.15pm.

The Thermal Heaven room showers had scum in the base of the shower and the new laconium wasn’t even on, which no one informed us off.



Feel like what was meant to be a lovely treat for my friends birthday has been ruined as the massage was what she was looking forward to the most.



Hoping the meal tonight will make up for it and the laconium will be working tomorrow so we can experience it then.

Stayed there Saturday with two friends. One friend had to sleep on a camp bed with a big dip in the middle after paying £118 each for the night she had no sleep whatsoever. Also the clay treatment was awful, three of us and we were put in a treatment room for two ppl. So one had to stand up the whole time or we took turns. Nothing relaxing about that...The hotel is quite rundown from the outside needs a good lick of paint. Some staff helpful but others were not. Food was nice. I wouldn't recommend this as a relaxing spa break. Disappointed.

Afternoon Tea what a let down. When I booked I explain the dietary requests. This was all written down. When it arrive it plain sandwich that had been requested did not arrive and there was not enough for 5 people. The sandwiches that were on the afternoon tea where going stale. It took two conversations to get what had been requested at the time of booking. The drinks where so slow. The waitress was in trainers and legging very untidy and then the bill was wrong twice. After rebooking from an enjoyable afternoon tea in April and no response from the complaint I sent I would not be in a rush to return.
