Good afternoon from Leigh Neighbourhood Policing Team. Today from 12.30pm until 7.30pm you'll find a GMP carrier in and around Westleigh Park. Tomorrow it will be parked up on Maple Crescent/Westbourne Avenue between the same times. We encourage people to come and speak to us and raise any concerns about the local area. There will be several PCSOs in the area throughout these times and also Councillors available to speak to if you wish. Don't forget the 101 service and GMP live chat for anyone wishing to report any incidents.

Abram Update - Today PCSO Rebecca McCormick leaves the Abram Neighbourhood Team for pastures new. For the last 2 years PCSO McCormick has covered Spring View area of Abram. Her replacement is still to be confirmed and we will update you in due course. Notice to Astley/Tyldesley residents - we have received a couple of reports in the Astley area of a bogus workman knocking on the doors of elderly residents asking to use the toilet. It appears when being allowed into the address the male is then stealing items from within the property. We are visiting those effected this morning and will be starting an investigation. In the meantime please can those with elderly relatives in the Astley and Tyldesley areas speak to them to encourage them to refuse entry to anyone they don't know. Also, anyone who may have information relating to this please contact us via '101' or the 'live chat' facility on the web site. Thanks.

Evening all, Team A back on duty until 7am - Two more arrests today, both in Atherton - One for possession of drugs (he received a caution) and another for sexual assault.

You may have been aware of an RTC this morning at Golborne roundabout, causing a lot of congestion. Thankfully, no one seriously hurt and the road was back up and running within a couple of hours. Please #staysafe out there folks and remember, enjoy the sun responsibly 😊 ☀

Good afternoon, you have the Golborne and Lowton West, and Lowton East neighbourhood team, and E relief response team, with you until late into the evening. There were a number of arrests overnight, including two separate arrests for domestic assault, and a male was also arrested for sexual assault, domestic assault, and criminal damage. he also decided it was a good idea to start a dirty protest in the back of the Police van on his way to custody!

Charged: Dean Clementson dob 01/03/1992 of no fixed abode was arrested earlier today and has been dealt with by the neighbourhood team. He has just been charged with 16 Theft/Shoplifting offences in the Tyldesley and Astley areas and will be remanded in police custody until court tomorrow morning.

Update re missing three year old - Found safe and well.

Arrest - A male was arrested earlier in Hindley after he had his prison licence revoked.

Another arrest in Leigh earlier - A male who was wanted on warrant and on suspicion of a section 47 assault

Arrest in Leigh - Male on suspicion of three assaults, assault police, threats to damage property, criminal damage and breach of bail. Another male on suspicion of being involved in organised crime.
