Grönn Description
Firmly placed in the heart of our community, so much more than beautiful hair goes on here. We aim to use our stunning one of a kind space and people loving talents to not only bring you fabulous and creative ways to wear your hair but to reach out and bring our community together under one roof in as many unique and fun ways possible. Everyone is welcome here at Gronn and we pride ourselves on listening and being open to new ideas and adventures. What are you waiting for, come join our tribe!
So what makes us eco? Here's what's happening so far. .
- Our unique and luxurious interior was built using reclaimed natural and sustainable local materials, absolutely no plastic.
- Our pallet wood was donated by local businesses, we know where every piece of wood came from,
- Painted using ecological paint with low or no VOC's
- The sustainable willow signage was sourced from local Holly Mount Orchard and weaved by local lovely The Joy Of Willow, I learned some new skills too! The willow letters are covered with solar fairy lights.
- All our unique decorative items and cutlery were bought or gifted from various local vintage markets. The vintage Belgium bell telephone and our beautiful huge golden Buddha being firm favourites.
- Disposable towels are used then have a life of cleaning before being thrown into composting.
- We compost and coffee grounds are fed to the plants
- We chose Davines because we endeavour to make our services and products as chemical free as possible*. They marry with our core values of being; ethical, sustainable, carbon neutral, of natural origin, paraben & sulphate free, part of the slow food movement and just wonderful people. They're a family run business from Parma, Italy. Biodegradable bottles and no unnecessary excessive packaging.
- We offer a refill /return service with Davines
- We use FSC sustainable hardwood brushes
- Our extensive refreshment list is a mix of organic and Fairtrade
- EVERYTHING in our hair salon is Vegan (including the boss) and cruelty free inc and not exclusive to our cleaning products.
- Our energy is green
- Colour and products are a mix of PPD and ammonia free.
- We have limited printed items and they are made with recycled materials by responsible companies.
- We bank paperless, have no car and have bamboo toothbrushes don't you know : D
Whatever we do and every step we take we'll always have our guests the planet and local community in mind.
* whilst we endeavour to be as kind to the planet whist achieving our goals and evolve into being as close to nature as we can, we cannot guarantee absolutely zero additives in all our services or products.

Do your normal shop, we'll help you unwrap and kindly hand back our plastic waste to Tesco. Mass Unwraps are a great way to show the sheer scale of plastic packaging. Bring reusable bags if you can! - #regrann

We all love low maintenance hair, it's pretty much what we are all about here at Grönn. So we absolutely love it when our colour looks fabulous for months on end without a touch up!
This lovely head hasn't been fully coloured for a good few months now and it still looks beautiful so it was a little maintenance snip for us this time to keep it in full health
We love Oatly and with great reason and not just the taste but also gentler for the planet and kinder for animals too! 🌍❤️

Had myself an assistant this afternoon (my nephew Jackson 🤣) he's one of those flashy sorts that likes to cut hair with swords ⚔️✂️💇 His guest (my mum) didn't seem to mind him sculpting her a mohican with shampoo either, so it was fun all round 😂 @ Grönn

Oooooh looks goooooood!
Got some new conscious threads today from @rapanuiclothing organic cotton, zero waste, responsible, traceable and very cool. Great sizing, lovely fit, comfortable and arrived in THE best packaging I ever did saw! My guest Carol and I had fun trying to spot a 🐳 this morning! And my fave bit, when you're done with your T's you can send them back to be recycled, now that is what you call awesome ♻️ Ernie and I will be like a cycling billboard for our values, spreading the joy! Give us a wave if you see us! 🚲👋🏻
Ernies settled into salon life perfectly and has pride of place by the window. The amount of people who stop to look at him, and also just think he's a window prop 😂 loving cycling to work and around Bury. So many wonderful conversations about tricycles and big smiles from people.
It's a wonderful feeling knowing you're helping to reduce pollution and promoting cleaner air for all. I never could've imagined how much fun cycling would be either.

I normally hate having my hair cut because of the stilted chat and the staring at yourself in a mirror, but I genuinely look forward to haircuts at Gronn: proper conversations about real things (and some trivia) and a blimmin' good cut as well. Also my hair smells lovely right now.

Textured asymmetric undercut for Deanna yesterday with a blonde top up. The colour looked amazing when she came in, totally in love with Oway Silver Steel hair bath ( I second that, I use it too) If you want to keep your blondes in tip top tone. You need it in your life!

Having Ernie has changed my life, the freedom it's given me, such a wonderful and quick way to get around town and to work! It's a great eco way to travel and it makes you smile ☺
