We went to have a celebratory lunch, staff are always fantastic, lovely ambience, great decor and lovely food, we love The Grand and would recommend for anybody to use the venue for special occasions
We came to The Grand Hotel on 25th June to sample our wedding breakfast menu. Wow! Lovely, knowledgable staff with everything from the venue itself right down to the wine list. We were made to feel very special and the food, as always, was beautiful. It was so hard to choose which dishes to have for our special day, however we have finally chosen and can't wait for the day itself. Beautiful venue with very helpful staff.. thank you!
We are on our way home from our 2nd stay at the grand hotel, first stay was 3 nights last August after being recommended by a family member, absolutely stunning inside and out, the staff could not be anymore professional and friendly, food is out of this world, we stay in the studio room and couldn't be happier, the finishing touches like the little molton Brown bottles for you to take home is just perfect, the spa is spotless and very relaxing, if you are debating whether to stay here all I can say is go for it!! You won't be let down, see you in August the grand hotel (our new favourite place ) xxx
Very professional throughout with excellent attention to detail. Very well cooked food for very reasonable prices available in a variety of different locations, perfect for any occasion. Lovely pool area with good facilities. Well appointed rooms. Overall a fantastic weekend stay!
Such a wonderful hotel We have just returned from our 5th visit and loved every minute. Rooms are great, food amazing and staff always helpful and friendly. Delighted to say we are never disappointed and booked to return in March 18
Staff were very friendly and attentive, the room very comfortable, however it would be nice to have an information pack, and about the hotels history and what’s on in the hotel. Pool was lovely, and the food was very very good.
Lovely hotel. Great staff. Good location right on the front. We stayed in the Annex and the room was excellent very spacious separate room space. Massive bathroom with walk in shower. 2 TVs. Very nice buffet breakfast
Lovely Sunday lunch. My husband enjoyed the roast lamb, the Yorkshire pudding was dry but apart from that all good. I enjoyed the halibut, delish. The starters of scallops & potted shrimp were excellent. Great service, will be back.
Just spent a wonderful weekend at this hotel staying in room 102 which to our lovely surprise was a free upgrade on the room we had booked. The staff are fantastic and never seem to go home! The hotel and rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. Continental breakfast was superb, didn't miss having cooked at all although it is available at extra cost. The only thing we missed was air conditioning as the room was quite warm but that did not spoil our stay at all. Can't wait to revisit! Thanks all.
Just enjoyed a night at The Grand with my parents and Grandaughter. Lovely hotel top notch loved everything about it. Will definitely return 😄
Just enjoyed a family weekend at the Grand Hotel as first time customers, well recommended by friends and we can't wait to book our next break at a wonderfully warm, yet stylish hotel...perfectly pitched in my opinion.
The mix of grand and traditional with oodles of original features and charm fuses beautifully with some real on point contemporary styling through reception, the lounges and the excellent Cafe Grand. We enjoyed dinner in there over two nights, where the food is high quality, the atmosphere is lively, which I like and the provenance of the produce is on point. A massive part of the experience is the warmth and friendliness of the staff, from reception, staff who service the excellent rooms, the pool and spa area and in the bar and restaurant. It was great to see the gaffer, a smashing guy called Kevin at evening service last night and then again at breakfast this morning and the team around him were absolutely spot on. A big mention and thank you to Brogan, who looked after us professionally and warmly and is a major asset to the business.
In life, you get what you pay for in my opinion and I'm very happy with what the Grand gave us for our money. Big, fruity, large measures of gin are fine with me and if you have to pay extra for quality cooked breakfast extras alongside an excellent continental breakfast with lovely porridge with blueberries and almonds or boiled eggs that were sorted to order, that's fine with me too. All served properly to our table instead of the bog standard cooked breakfast buffets you get in soulless chain hotels up and down the land.
The Grand Hotel has got a friendly and stylish soul which gave me and my family value for money and a memorable experience which we will all be happily sampling again in the near future. Keep up the grand work, guys!
I only went in to eat in the bar area where the service and surroundings are lovely and deserve 5 ⭐️ I’ll never stay there again though because last time I did, I mentioned on tripadvisor that I’d been woken up very very early by some workmen outside in the car park using a cherry picker and in his reply the manager more or less called me a liar and denied there’d been any work done. Awful way to deal with a customer. Hence I stay elsewhere. The bar is lovely though and ditto the bar staff.
Had a great 2 day break here. Room was modern, clean and spacious. Staff are great and nothing is to much for them. Food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Would stay here again.
Excellent food and very friendly - great knowledge of the wines and menu - well worth every penny - another happy customer Sunday lunch was perfect 👍
Celebrating my Auntie's 90th birthday we had lunch at the Grand. The food and service was excellent. Definitely the place to go. We certainly will be returning in the very near future. Congratulations to the Grand employees for such a first class experience.
Cafe Grand again fantastic. Arrived mid afternoon without prior booking - given the option of tables. Fresh crab and Sunday lunches - faultless.... staff very attentive and well aware of what’s what. We are local born and bred and we always recommend the Grand ❤️
.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, the decor is stunning, staff where friendly and attentive. The room was immaculate, particularly liked the soft carpet under foot The bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in and the spa was also incredibly clean and an enjoyable experience. The food was also fresh and delicious. Will return soon! Thank you
A group of us stayed here last night 17th Dec for Xmas do. The hotel has been refurbished to very high spec it is stunning. Every area is very tastefully furnished to a very high standard, our bedroom on the ground floor was very big with huge bed. Had everything you needed and more Molton Brown toiletries. The Xmas party was fab with great DJ and food was fabulous, staff were very attentive and service excellent. Bar prices were a little high but we did expect that. The breakfast was continental but a very good choices. We will be staying again in the future highly recommended 😀😀
Our room was in the grand 22 over the road,it was a lovely room but was disappointed that there is only a coffee machine in the room.No tea making facility so asked at the grand reception and was told no tea in rooms.I have been all over the world in hotels and have never been told no tea in rooms !!!!.This to me means that the hotel assumes nobody drinks tea,I actually am allergic to coffee.Breakfast was good and all round would I stay again ??not without tea in room sorry.
