The DHSC told The Pharmaceutical Journal that the consultation has yet to be sent out to the industry because it wants to ensure the proposals are sufficiently robust beforehand.

Many children with asthma think they are using their asthma inhaler medication correctly when they are not, making it difficult to keep the condition under control, a study has shown.
In a study published in Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the journal of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), researchers surveyed 65 pairs of parents and children aged 8–14 years and found that nearly all children (97%) misused their inhaler.
Only 5% of childr...en who were confident in their inhaler technique used their inhaler without misuse, while 4% of children whose parents were confident in their children’s technique properly used their inhaler. None of the parents underestimated the children’s skills.

Mr Hancock told the BBC he did not want to "reach the point" of imposing jabs, but would "rule nothing out".
More than half a million children in the UK were unvaccinated against measles from 2010 to 2017, Unicef says.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet is an important part of maintaining good health, and can help you feel your best.
Fruit and vegetables are a good source of vitamins and minerals and fibre, and should make up just over a third of the food you eat each day.

Guidance on how to share patient prescribing data in a standardised format to improve communications between healthcare professionals should result in better patient safety, according to the body that published it.
The guidance from the Professional Record Standards Body (PRSB), published on 29 April 2019, establishes how pharmacists, hospitals and GPs should record data about patients’ medications so that it can be shared between care settings.
The PRSB said in a statement t...hat pharmacists, hospitals and GPs currently “need to manually translate prescribing information to ensure the correct medicines, dosages and timings are identified and administered” when a patient is transferred.

The reclassification of pregabalin and gabapentin as controlled drugs should reduce 'look-alike, sound-alike' errors, the NPA's medication safety officer has said.
Gabapentin and pregabalin continue to be among the most commonly confused medicines in pharmacies, Leyla Hannbeck's revealed in her latest MSO report last week (April 25).
However, she expects to see a reduction in the number of errors involving these drugs following their reclassification as class C controlled sub...stances from last month.

Women who are too anxious or embarrassed to go for a smear test could instead provide a urine sample to be screened for cervical cancer, research suggests.

Flower pollen
If you’re choosing trees, shrubs and flowers to plant in a garden, the species with flowers that attract insects are the best.
You should opt for flowers where insects have to search for the nectar. Often these blooms are trumpet-shaped; many are large and highly coloured.
... Generally, double-flowers are better than single flowers for lowering pollen levels in the garden.
