Grizedale campsite offers all year round woodland camping pitches and Yurts and Pods all positioned in our unique woodland setting.
Grizedale Campsite Description
The campsite is situated 1. 5 miles south of the Visitor Centre at Grizedale. Grizedale valley itself lies between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere. A journey of four miles north takes you to the village of Hawkshead and a further 5 miles to Ambleside. Travelling south takes you to the local market town of Ulverston.
We have excellent new facilities at our campsite with camping in the fields adjacent to the farm and in the wooded areas.

What a wonderful place! Thank you Dahnell and Arthur for a magical weekend. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We were lucky enough to meet some of the adorable animals living in the farm, to have a fantastic roast dinner and to enjoy the stunning surroundings. Can't give more that 5 stars to your lovely place but I would give 20!
Weve just got home after another great couple of days, and me and the kids are gutted we hate having to leave (shell not so much she likes her home comforts).
I've been coming here for years and years with friends as a base to explore the lakes. I then hadn't been for about 5 years due to having children and with that having to grow up myself � no more weekends away with the lads.
My Mrs had never been camping before she'd always rather go abroad, but due to our sons health that wasn't possible for a while so I decided to take them all camping and it was the Best thing I ever did! They get the freedom that we can't give them at home and they love it, some days I only see them when they're hungry or need a drink.
Dhanell and Arthur are great, they always stop for a chat and nothing is to much for them, couldn't recommend the place enough it's perfect for families with young or older kids, or even for a base to explore the lakes from. We will be back in a few weeks and thanks from all of us for another great time.
We were there for an organised event (bike weekend) and stayed in a pod. Weather and scenery were great, Arthur and Dhanell were friendly and helpful as ever. The addition of a food tent (hog roast and breakfast) was a welcome addition from our last visit. Looking forward to next time.
We had the most tremendous family gathering here the first weekend in August - the atmosphere on site is perfect for this, the friendly feel, the space for kids to go off safely exploring, the campfires... we also hired the party barn, which was great for our Saturday night boogie! Dhanell and Arthur couldn’t have been more accommodating - thank you!
This was the second year running we have been over on valentines day. Stayed 2 nights in the small furnished yurt this time. Absolutely loved it, great place to stay and the gorgeous wood stove heated the yurt up within 20 minutes, despite it being 2 degrees outside. Great, clean toilets and warm shower block. Some excellent walks with the dogs too. Thankyou too all the staff at the campsite for such a lovely couple of days, we will be back again soon!!
Sadly just returned home. This is an amazing site with lovely owners who are so helpful. It's been an amazing experience in a beautiful surrounding. You've just got to visit this place to appreciate the beauty. We will be back very soon ��
Just got home from a long weekend camping in our tent with our 2 border collies. Very friendly farmer and staff, showers nice and warm, beautiful scenery.. couldn't fault it
Just got home from a fantastic weekend with you. There was a large group of us and we all had great time. Lovely campsite, friendly owners, and really good facilities. We'll definitely be back ��
Just an overnight camping stay for us this time, as always absolutely fabulous. Great experience being able to watch the sheep being sheared. We'd recommend, and regularly do, this campsite to anyone. Next trips booked already. Thanks again Arthur and Dhanell x �
Had a great two nights stay the other week. Was lovely and quiet and really friendly people. Deffo come back again.
Had a brilliant weekend here for grizedale rocks. Had children with us in ages from 3 to 14 and all had an amazing time. Will most definitely be back next year with a couple of trips before. The owners couldn’t do enough to help.
Great place freindly people..I love this place.. cant wait to bring the grandchildren again
Going home tomorrow. Had the best camping weekend ever. The farmer and his family were friendly and helpful. Very laid back. Lovely hog roast Saturday nite got good live music. Ample toilets and facilities. Would definitely come again and I recommend it for families. Lots of animals little river for the kids what more do u need. Oh and pub within walking distance
Fantastic family weekend at Grizedale Rocks. Our first time staying in the pods and yet again not disappointed. Shall certainly be back again soon.

Lovely place. Amazing views. Fantastic camp site. Plenty of space. Fires allowed. Lovely streams running through. Well run. Cracking little farm shop. All I would say is please sort out the toilets/showers/kitchen well past there sell buy date, untidy and unclean and simply not enough. Additional portaloos that were not empitited all weekend were disgusting.
Unfortunately we haven’t had a chance to visit because once we give dates we would like to come, they stop all correspondence � myself and my husband have both tried.
This place looks great, would love to have gone but after several emails and messenger msgs Iv been totally ignored about confirming my booking, disappointed kids and wasted my time and now too late to book anywhere else!!!
