What a fantastic customer experience. I suffered a devastating mishap (not of my doing) with my newly purchased air ninja drone. I told you of my plight and from start to end I was treated exceptionally well even though none of this was Hamleys fault at all! Will, your in-store demonstrator, went above and beyond the call of duty! I am absolutely blown away by his care and help. Better than outstanding, better than exceptional customer care and understanding. He is a real credit to you...thank you 1000 times over. Safe to say, the other adult will not be allowed to fly my drone without my supervision haha! A very happy, happy lady

Visited the store a few weeks ago in search of a super hero costume for my daughter, we were greeted by a very cheerful man called mark, we explained what we were looking for, he told us he didn't think that they had any but would double check. He was so helpful and chatted with my daughter and explained that unfortunately they didn't have any and told her where he thought she could get one. He didn't just give us a blunt no for an answer and chatted with us to help us find a costume for her! Thank you again for being so kind and helpful!

Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed visiting Santa today, by far the best Santa experience we have come across, we will definitely be booking again next year. The elves were ace, everyone was character the the kids clearly enjoyed every minute. Reminded me of Miracle on 34th Street, Santa actually looked like Santa!!! He was so good with the children. Thankyou Hamleys !!!

My daughter and her friend went to meet father Christmas today and they had a very magical time! The meeting wasn't rushed, they played games with the elves, colouring, singing and had something to eat. Was definitely worth the price as they spent an hour in there with santa and the elves, you could take as many photos as you wanted and an excellent gift bag to take home which included a book, hamleys teddy bear, bauble, balloon and colouring pencils. Father Christmas looked the real deal! The best father Christmas I've seen and he was brilliant with the kids even taught me some interesting history on pocahontas My daughter is currently still in shock now that she is home saying "I can't believe it, father Christmas actually knows me and I'm on the good list!"

User

My 4 yr old boy loved meeting Father Christmas and the elves at Hamleys. From start to finish the experience was amazing for us both. The elves are fantastic with the children and really do put on a good show entertaining and interacting with them making them feel relaxed. There is lots for the children to eat and drink and the food was lovely - a full clean plate from my little one. You never felt rushed during the experience and the children are kept busy and entertained all the time. When Father Christmas came into the room he spends a lot of time with the whole group and gives each child the opportimity to show him what they have been doing with the elves. Then each child gets to meet and talk with Father Christmas on their own and they get given a goody bag to take home. Father Christmas is so realistic and looks like the one from miracle on 34th street. He is very friendly and all the children loved him. It is a truly personal and magical way to meeI Father Christmas and the elves definitely get you in the Christmas spirit. Thank you for a wonderful time - we will be back and will definitely highly recommend you.

User

Just returned from a visit to see Father Christmas with my 8 year old daughter. What an absolutely wonderful way for my daughter to meet the big man himself along with his elves. Everything was absolutely perfect and I will definitely book again. Thanks to all the staff

User

I visited today with my 4 yr old grandson who is profoundly deaf. Your staff went out of their way to show him toys, let him try out things and high five him all the time. Safe to say it made me very happy to see amazing people treat him so well. Thank you to each of the staff. Highly recommended xx

I love how the place is so bright and open the colours and how they have made the place is so nice! The stairs are a bit tricky to navigate when there are a lot of people. Loved my trip here.

I just wanted to say what fantastic staff work in Hamleys in Manchester. I work for Marie Curie as a local Community Fundraiser and last Friday, 31st March I had a charity awareness day and was fortunate enough to be based outside the Manchester branch of Hamleys. The help and support I received all day (10am-10pm) from the wonderful staff was amazing and helped make my day a great deal easier. They very kindly stored a couple of our stand items in their office to help us comply with H&S in the Trafford Centre. A member of their staff, Juan who was leaving the company, dressed up as the Hamleys bear and helped attract a crowd with our own mascot, Daffy dancing to the Zumba fitness ladies! Special thanks to Bethany and a couple of staff members later in the day that donated bears to give out to a group of schoolchildren performing for us - you made their day - thank you! Also, the donation of a couple of bears later in the day for prizers for the children dancing to Panfire Steel Band - again, it made their evening! All in all - fantastic staff and I'm really grateful for their help! I would love to send an email to your HO to express my gratitude - please let me know an address to write to. Many many thanks, Lynn.

I have just been to see Santa in your store and it was fantastic from start to finish.

Worth every penny and the goodie bag had some lovely gifts inside.

My Daughter enjoyed the entire experience. I've never seen such a realistic Santa. Santa took the time to read my Daughters had written Xmas list in great detail and had a great discussion with her. Not the usual in and out in 2 mins like some grottoes I'll not mention.

We had 45 mins with Santa whilst he sat round the craft table, told my Daughter a story and he had a good time playing games.

I was able to take lots of photos of my own and videos too.

The Elves put a lot of effort into what they do.

We were greeted by Toy soldier and Papa Elf and the fun and games started there. This is definitely up on my list for one of the experiences both my Daughter and I will never forget. *****stars

Been tonight to see Father Christmas, and all I can say was that it was truly magical. The staff were amazing, the kids loved it and the Father Christmas was out of this world. Maggie,s comment - best day ever xx

User

Went to see Santa at the Trafford Centre Store on 3rd Dec. It was a fabulous experience for the kids who loved it. Santa was wonderful with them, the story and stickers were fun and the gift bag was great.

One thing that almost let it down was the dreadful, freezing cold food served. It had obviously been cooked and just left to go cold. Such a shame that this one area was so poorly executed. Other than that I would recommend it to everyone despite the price!

User

We visited Santas grotto today. The elves & Santa were great. The food was a bit of a let down. A pancake, cold croissant, mini muffin & half a slice of cold toast. There was a little bit of fruit salad (Apple, banana & pineapple), and butter, jam & maple syrup. One child had a lovely bowl of fruit & a jelly with raspberry in it, I think he had a dairy intolerance. If we go again I'd request something like that.

User

What a joke of a business, one price for online another (much higher) for the retail shop! Very weird standing in a store holding the item and then being told they won’t match there own online price! Perhaps they don’t want to succeed at retail - the staff had no answer and certainly didn’t want to help! What a joke!

User

Well I went in today looking for some gliders for my son which we had bought in the London store previously and the staff were so unhelpful!!! First of all told they were upstairs then we asked for help when we got upstairs and the girl said we have got them just not sure where they are !! So basically go and find then yourselves not at all helpful ! One girl did sort of come to our rescue and told us they did not stock them and we would have to order on line - ! The staff just did not seem to know what they had got and what they had not !

User

We went into Hamleys Trafford Centre at the weekend and our daughter fell in love with Calla the Cheetah. There we’re still Black Friday sale signs up everywhere, and I asked a sales assistant if that included Calla, categorically the man said no that is certainly didn’t include the giant toys as they are specially made and imported from China, he also added there never has been or will be a sale on these.

On returning home, we looked on the Hamleys website and what did we find?... Calla the cheetah with 20% off! However it was out of stock! I am therefore Very disappointed in the information and advice we received from the sales assistant in the Trafford Centre store, as if we had been told the truth that there was still 20% off it, we would have brought it there and then at that price. Instead we have a heart broken upset young girl.

User

Really bad. Don’t know where to begin...

1. Cold pizza and cold chips for food

2. Telling the kids they can stay up late on Xmas Eve (“at least 10pm” for an 8yr old)

3. Telling the kids that no present is too expensive

4. Oh and saying Wales was horrible and then asking “we haven’t got any Welsh in have we?” I actually said “Father Christmas, please meet my son; Gethin!”.

I can take a joke in the appropriate setting but that could have been really, really bad.

Expected more from this brand and less Phoenix Nights. Shocking.

User

My daughter purchased a science kit with her birthday money! Arrived home to find all kinds of bits missing which meant the kit couldn't be used and a 50 mile round trip to return the item (no one replied to my twitter message with advice) arrived to store and asked the lady on checkout to speak to manager as expected a little discount for the inconvenience to be told no! The manager couldn't even be bothered to speak to me and sent the message via another staff member! Will not be shopping here again as the customer service is really poor!!!!!!

User

It saddens me to write this post. We visited @hamleysofficial in @intutraffordcentre today, and I was appalled by what I saw. There are rows and rows of baby dolls for sale, and out of all those dolls there is only one, yes ONE baby doll of colour. That in itself horrified me, but to make matters worse, the white baby costs £18.00, but the black baby costs £25.00!! How is this acceptable? First off, why should a child have only the one choice, but more so, why should a parent then have to pay more for this doll? This is the first time I've actually noticed something like this, and I'm sure I'm going to be keeping my eyes out in future toy store visits. I'm so disappointed in @hamleysofficial 😡 I'd also like to point out, that if I was prepared to pay the money, I would have been paying the higher price, as that is the doll my daughter wanted! This shouldn't be allowed to happen 😢 #disappointed #dollsofcolour #hamleys #hamleystraffordcentre #traffordcentre #thisisnotequality

What a joke of a business, one price for online another (much higher) for the retail shop! Very weird standing in a store holding the item and then being told they won’t match there own online price! Perhaps they don’t want to succeed at retail - the staff had no answer and certainly didn’t want to help! What a joke!

Shocking.
