About Happy Jacks Childrens Day Nursery

Early Years Care and Education for children up to 5yrs old.

Happy Jacks Childrens Day Nursery Description

Happy Jacks is registered to care for no more than 52 children in one session from birth to 31st August after the child’s 5th birthday.

Our aim at Happy Jacks is to work along side parents /carers to provide the best education and care possible for their child.

Happy Jacks early years practitioners are highly qualified, experienced, friendly and approachable. If you have a concern or just want to ask a question then someone is always happy to help. Suzanne is our Early Years Professional (EYP) and holds a 2: 1 BA Honours Degree in Early Childhood Studies and is very experienced and knowledgeable about early years learning and development. An Early Years Professional is the equivalent to teacher status for the 0-5yr olds.

In a happy, caring environment children are at their best and are quite happy to learn through play. Behind all the fun, games, messy play, stories etc, lies a framework which guides practitioners through the learning, development and care for children from birth to five. This framework is called the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

We aim to:
• Treat every child as an individual, promoting happiness and their self-esteem.
• Work in partnership with parents /carers to produce a happy and productive environment.
• Provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment.
• Offer a variety of simulating and new experiences through play to enable children to explore and reach his /her potential in every aspect of the EYFS.
• Promote every child’s physical and intellectual needs.
• Promote and develop independence.
• Challenge children’s thinking skills promoting sustained shared thinking between child and practitioner.
• Support every child’s emotional and social development.
• Provide opportunities to develop self-confidence, encourage curiosity and enthusiasm.
• To develop awareness of, and consideration for, the needs of other in the immediate and wider environment.

During your child’s time at Happy Jacks your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development. All which is play based.

Children should mostly develop the 3 prime areas first. These are:
Communication and language
Physical Development
Personal, Social and emotional Development

These prime areas are those most essential for your child’s healthy development and future learning.

As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas. These are:
Literacy;
Mathematics:
Understanding the world; and
Expressive arts and design.

We will teach and support your child by planning activities suited to your child’s unique needs and interest. We believe that children learn best if we follow their interests and their own unique style of learning.

All staff hold current CRB /DBS enhanced certificates and are updated every 3 years. Rigorous recruitment procedures are adhered to when employing new staff to ensure children are kept safe and that staff have a sound knowledge of early years care and education and their duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in our care.

Staff regularly go on training courses to update knowledge to implement changes which the government introduce or just to refresh their knowledge and gain some new skills or ideas. ALL STAFF ARE TRAINED IN PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID.
