Went for afternoon tea early hen party event. Excellent service, pleasant staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Very picky party but they changed all the sandwich to suit us. Definitely recommend and will go every time I’m in Liverpool. Thank you so much. Fabulous experience

User

We had a three-night-stay at HDN and it was way above expectations! Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and a breathtaking afternoontea. The lounge was like our livingroom where we felt good with a pint of bitter or a single malt. Comfy bed with classy sheet and a good night’s sleep. Room clean and tidy and we can’t wait to return. 👍👍👍

This hotel was the foundation of an awesome Liverpool experience. The area is amazing. Is it loud? Yes, but you in the most iconic areas in the UK and the Cavern Club is literally right there. Tubes are a thing here so you’re going to feel it. The staff, the room, the whole experience was awesome. We enjoyed our stay. Only thing we all mentioned was the unique fragrance in the lobby.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff who went out of their way to help, they even took our luggage to our room! Stayed in various hotels in Liverpool and they don’t offer this service. Comfortable beds and clean rooms/bathrooms with complimentary water and biscuits.

We had a package which included breakfast, three course meal, and a cocktail, all of which was top class food and fantastic value for money.

Thankyou so much for making our stay a pleasant and relaxing one. We will be returning soon!

Stayed here last night, arrived a little early but our room on the fourth floor was ready, room was a good size and clean, bed was very comfortable, nice to have a balcony but view wasn't brilliant, would have been nice to have a fridge. Hotel decor was fabulous throughout, staff were friendly and helpful, lovely cocktails, breakfast was good, plenty of choice, service good, bacon a little over cooked, location fantastic, would definitely stay again .

User

Stayed here 3rd-5th of July for an early present for my sons 21st birthday, with my son, the price was more than I would normally pay for a hotel, but didn't mind as it was a special occasion around £262 with breakfast in a twin deluxe room. On arrival around 14.30pm, we were able to check in half hour earlier which was convenient as we wanted to head straight off to the 'The Beatles Story'. The interior of the hotel is very inviting, and the Beatles theme art is fab for the avid fans visiting. Breakfast has a good variety, from cooked to cereal to pastries, and so much more all in an inviting dinning area. The room was lovely, we had George looking over us as we slept, which impressed my son as I think he is his favourite Beatle. Good facilities, tea coffee, complimentary water, shower products, and the standard Iron and hairdryer. Room was cleaned everyday, and products replaced. I did not use the bars so can not comment on drinks sorry.

I have two issues, the only negative I have to say around the room is there was a lot of noise from the bars on Mathew street majority of the night, so if your not a party goer than you will struggle to sleep especially after 11pm, but its not a massive inconvenience, just a bit annoying. (5th floor right at the back)

Now the other was the staff, I found them slightly standoffish and only willing to perform on a mediocre basis in regards to interaction with guests! The receptionist barely uttered a word to us on check in, and the staff in the Blakes restaurant bar one bubbly lady were just vacant and in my opinion not displaying the best customer service! However this did not spoil our stay, we would stay again , but a small tip would be to inform staff to smile and go that extra mile with customers. Thank You :)

User

Comfortable room. Very noisy. If you don't want to wake up through out the night, best avoid. My room had a fab 4 picture over the bed. Unfortunately John lennon looked more like Gary Glitter. Creepy. Breakfast very good and staff lovely. So a mixed experience

User

Where to start. Inside this hotel was beautiful, the rooms are huge and it’s very central for everything.

Now on to the negatives. There are a few, I’m not even sure where to start. I checked in and was given room 203 which was right above the cavern club which wasn’t the worst part. Every few minutes the tube goes under and the room shakes. The cavern club was very noisy though, don’t look back in anger seemed to be a favourite which was ironic and I was looking at the place with quite an angry look.

I did ask to be moved room which they did to an equally as noisy room leading me to believe the 5* reviews must be left by people either with no ear drums or some of the higher floors must be double glazed. The TV in the room I was moved to was so far away from my bed it was pointless being there.

Now to breakfast, oh the breakfast. The bacon is burned black on the outside and barely cooked in the middle. No idea how that would happen. It’s not a steak, I don’t want it cooked rare. On the subject of rare meat on my 3rd day I went down and got some weetabix and the milk tasted awful. I left that and instead got some hot stuff. I got 2/3 of the way through a sausage only to make the awful discovery that it was raw, not just pink but raw in the middle. I raised this with the staff and was told it’s just the colour of it. It wasn’t this was my 3rd day there and while I wouldn’t call myself a sausage expert I am large enough to know when a sausage is uncooked. I did see him binning some of them not long after. No apologies though, I got the distinct impression they are were annoyed at me for pointing out my sausages we so raw I could have used it to hunt truffles. Needless to say I stuck to the pastries after that day.

So after 4 almost sleepless nights, on checking out i was asked how my stay had been. I did pipe up and say noisy to which I got ”ah, sorry”.

To be honest I was going to give it a one star but because the hotel itself was nice I’ve been a bit more generous. In short, do yourself a favour and stick to the premier inn if you are wanting any sleep at all.

User

We stayed here on 28/04/18 in what was called a luxury double with balcony. Very disappointed for the price we paid. Room was shabby to say the least balcony over looked the back of kitchens no table or seating at all on balcony. The room was small nothing luxury about it, needed redecorating and bathroom re-fit.

As it was my partners birthday I had ordered some balloons, cake and a bottle of wine to be in the room (again not cheap) they weren't there when we arrived in the room went down to reception to ask where they were was told they would be there shortly receptionist apologised, explained that we would leave the room whilst they sorted. Went down to the bar and there she was with the balloons and cake stood chatting to the bar maid my partner had guessed they were for him so completely spoiled the surprise. For £368 ( including extras)For one night I was expecting a lot better.

User

Unfortunately we didn't have a great experience at this hotel. We arrived at 1.30pm to be told check in was from 3pm, absolutely no problem. Bags left and off we went for a wander. Returned at 4.15pm to be told our room was still not ready! Offered a complimentary drink but when we had plans and needed a quick freshen up wasn't ideal. Eventually handed our keys at 4.45pm....an hour and 45 minutes after we were told we could check in.

The most disturbing part of the check in process was asking Dominic to clarify the hotel's hygiene rating, widely available online and confirmed as a 1 star from a visit by Environmental Health in May 2017. Dominic said he would have to check with food and beverage and came back to confidentially tell us the hotel had a 5 star food hygiene rating. When questioned he reiterated that it was definitely 5. This is unbelievable......misleading people by providing this information is just wrong. I would rather him have said he didn't know or that they were awaiting reinspection if they didn't want to admit to their 1 star scoring.

Room was lovely, large and comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had emailed the hotel and stated again on arrival that we had requested a quiet room and all seemed good.

Went out for the evening returning at 11.30pm. Decided on a night cap in the hotel bar. Staff were bordering on rude, talking amongst themselves about how hard they'd had to work and not a pleasant word from any of them. Paid for our drinks and took them to our room.

Extremely disappointed that our room sounded like a private booth in a nightclub with loud live music thumping through the wall. Had our drinks and tried to get to sleep but eventually at 12.45pm phoned reception to ask when the music would stop. The Duty Manager said he would investigate. He phoned back to advise that the music was coming from a venue next door who had a licence until 2am.....marvellous! The hotel was full so we couldn't be moved. The Duty Manager did tell us that he had contacted EHO to come down and check that the volume was at a legal limit but it was almost 1am on Bank Holiday weekend so not sure how likely this was to happen! And we'd asked for a quiet room, which I was told ours was so I dread to think how it sounded in some of the others!

After very little sleep we headed down for breakfast. Walked past reception where 3 members of the team completely ignored us, not a "good morning" from any of them. Breakfast was good and the team in there were great. Kelsey was exceptionally welcoming and friendly and the food was good.

Checked out and when asked if we'd had a nice stay we were honest and were offered the opportunity to speak to the Duty Manager but not sure how this would have helped.

We won't return.

Comfortable room. Very noisy. If you don't want to wake up through out the night, best avoid. My room had a fab 4 picture over the bed. Unfortunately John lennon looked more like Gary Glitter. Creepy. Breakfast very good and staff lovely. So a mixed experience
