We really enjoyed our high tea this afternoon. Probably the best I have had in all of Manchester! Great selection of cakes and sandwiches and the best home made sausage roll ever ļæ½

User

We enjoyed a lovely night tonight great food and amazing service. We were celebrating an anniversary and only booked a table around 4pm for 7pm. Service was mainly by a lady called lorraine who absolutely made our night who was really nice and attentive. Thank cant wait for our next visit x

User

Lovely pub x stepped in and helped us out on the 11th hour. Was booked into another place who had a gas leak so couldn't cook our meals. There were 19 of us. Rang them at 5.00pm on a Saturday evening asking could they please accommodate us advised them we had been let down. Offered to goto the other place n collect the balloons and cake. Nothing was too much trouble took drinks orders n let us have a drink outside. Food was delicious staff were lovely and friendly very accommodating cannot recommend this place enough. Lorraine is a fantastic asset to your team and I cannot thank her and staff enough xx xx thank you x Lorraine we left a little something for you behind the bar x

User

Just went here for afternoon tea to celebrate my fiancƩe birthday the food was delicious very fresh and tasty lots of choice.well recommend.staff helpful and polite too

User

I came in today for afternoon tea with my mother and daughter. From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. As for the afternoon tea.... sandwiches lovely selection, cakes were scrummy and the sausage rolls were to die for! 5 star service from the hard working staff too!! And you don't get a view like the one outside from any hotel in Manchester, we will be back soon!

User

Hiya,

We came for a family dinner yesterday.

I'd been away for the weekend and we weren't sure what time I'd be backed, so I called and spoke with Declan who was more than happy to add an additional 2 people to our booking. When we arrived he was at the bar and greeted us with a friendly smile.

We were served drinks quickly and shown to our table within 5 or so minutes.

The food was served relatively quickly and was really hot (I like my food to be really hot and most places don't really manage it!!!)!

I visited approx. 12 years ago (probably in different hands then) and got food poisoning, so this was my first time eating there since & I must say I am really impressed with the overall service.

The only let down was the bar prices...wow...so expensive! Ā£5.29 for a pint of lager!

User

When food came out one of the meals wasn't what we ordered. Then had to wait was only 5 min or so but disappointing. My meal wasn't presented with every thing that was on the menu. We also ordered slaw and it wasn't presented well and wasn't worth the cost. Taste wasn't great either. The rest of the meal was ok. This was off lunch time menu. I won't be going again for lunch. Drinks only I think. Views were its saving grace

User

Very disappointed really, huge queue out the door for the bar, needed extra staff on a warm summers evening, lack of customer service, meal arrived and no serviettes with the cutlery.

User

Great view of Manchester but it was too busy for the staff. Took too long to buy a drink and Ā£2.40 for a glass of Diet Coke seems a bit much for me. I think Iā€™m getting old. Maybe sunny weekend days in Manchester might not be the time to go. Food was ok but 3 fish and chips plus two pints was Ā£40. Itā€™s more expensive at weekends. I would go again but mid-week.

User

Food here was okay. starter came early despite being told it'll take 30 mins with our mains. waited an hour and a half for the mains just for your typical pub grub. Asked twice where the food was and was left waiting. Disappointed is an understatement as this place has good reviews !

User

came in Tuesday lunch time with a party of 4... main course took nearly an hour to arrive. we ordered lasagne which was overcooked..it was crispy (nearly burnt) round the edges.. it looked like a ready meal from the supermarket.. we also ordered the mac cheese which was the smallest portion ive ever seen.. its a good job there was garlic bread on the plate too.. was really disappointed.. the pub itself is lovely in side and in a great location with an amazing view... just dont eat there :(

User

What a shame that a pub in such a great location has such poor bar staff. Young lad behind the bar (red hair) was rude with poor customer service skills. I heard him say ā€˜iā€™m so tired my eyes are closing.ā€™

He wasnā€™t welcoming. Our tea pots and cups were dirty, I told a bar maid outside about them, she said sheā€™d come back but didnā€™t (it wasnā€™t even busy.) so, I took them into the young lad, he didnā€™t apologise, and while exchanging them shoutedā€™thats why we need new pot washers.ā€™ He didnā€™t seem to want to be working!

User

We've been going to the Hare & Hounds for years and had such great evenings with friends and family, but the last couple of visits have been so awful we defiantly won't be going back. Really poor customer service, long wait times inbetween courses, food average to awful, just not good. Such a pity. It's a great pub in a great location. Other than that, nothing appeals me about this pub anymore.

User

Very poor experience this evening. Took my dad, husband and teenage daughters for a fatherā€™s day treat. Waiting staff were fine, no problem at all with them. Starters were ok, if not stunning. No alarm bells so far. Mains were horrific. Girls had chicken burgers which they finished but described as ā€œvery greasy ā€œ. Dad had lamb shank which he described as ā€œmore fat than meatā€. Husband had a steak which he polished off without complaint. I had the ā€œUltimate Vegan Burgerā€ which was vile. The burger itself was like the very cheapest supermarket veggie burger. The only visible veg in it were sweetcorn and kidney beans. It was deep fried to a colour somewhere between dark brown and black and was full of grease. They should call it the ā€œWe hate vegans burgerā€. Also very bland. Chips were greasy too. What a shame, they have such an amazing location and they exploit their customers with substandard food. We will not be returning .

User

Really disappointed with service last night, booked a table, turned up 5 minutes before the booking waited 10 mins to be seated, ordered drinks straight away , bottle of wine brought to the table with the lid on and left there, no attempt by the waiter to pour it for us or open it. Ordered food within 10 mins of being seated then waited 1 hour 15 minutes to receive food after I reminded the waiters we were still waiting. Food eaten we waited for a waiter to clear our plates and offer us the desert menu, we waited another 45 minutes no menu appeared do we paid the bill and left. This was a stark contrast to our visit on a Sunday afternoon 2 weeks ago with 10 family members where the service was very good. Inconsistent service from the Hare and Hounds will mean we wonā€™t be returning for a long time and will find another restaurant with equally good views such as Peruga or The Joshua Bradley. We also found the drinks to be very over priced. Sadly Not the best customer experience I have had

User

Been a couple of times lately and been disappointed and tonight was no different. Used to love coming here. But not sure what's happened lately but the service is poor and waitresses not attentive at all. Missed off my starter and it didn't arrive till everyone else finished theirs. The main then took another hour! And it was less than a third full in the place. Sirloin was very disappointing. Hubby's mash was as if it was heated back up. Waited ages for drinks. Won't bother coming back for quite some time. Glad most of it was paid for with Tesco clubcard vouchers or I would have been very annoyed. Improve back to your old standards please ļæ½

User

Terrible service this afternoon asked for a kopperberg to be told none left but some people came in after us and got one. The customer service was terrible such miserable staff. Food was very bland not enjoyable at all. Very disappointing not what it use to be will not be back

User

Came last night for mine and my partner's anniversary meal. Was greeted by miserable staff. Was sat down, waited ten mins for drinks.. and then they forgot mine and I waited another ten mins. Ordered food, starters came which were ok. We both ordered steak for mains, my steak was completely inedible, my partner ate his but could not eat anything else on plate, mash was still frozen in the middle and hard on outside where it has been over microwaved. We both left very hungry, I paid for my wine only which was still expensive for the bottle, and a shame I had no food to go with my wine. So the wine went to waste, as did our anniversary. Very disappointing.

User

Came here on the 22nd December for a family meal. First of all it took 10 minutes for someone to come and see us to be seated, then 20 minutes to get a drinks order. Then when the drinks did come they thought they had given my 12 year old brother gin, they got all the drinks wrong and some were missing. Took 1 hour 30 min for starters to come yet again some were missing and wrong. The main meals were average, and the puddings were ok. The bill was all wrong and you tried changing us more , poor customer service. Will not be coming back. Need to sort this out because it could be a nice pub ...
